  1. Thanks for the compliments guys! Yeah I almost crapped when I saw the Zette almost climb off the roller in second gear...What a rush... Oh theres no respect for V8s here bercause no one knows anything about them. Im pissed I cant go to the races here in December....but I will be back in Texas! I am stoked..... CZ
  2. Just incase anyone wanted to see. 379.4 RWHP..... CZ
  3. Well hello!!!!! Dude I have been in Japan for over two years now. Let me know what you want and what year car etc and I can inquire. Also if you have info in Japan as to where to call, my wife is Japanese. I will only be in Japan for another 6 weeks though. I will try to help but don't promise what the results will be...... CorZette
  4. Strictly Z has them. Just talk to Yuichi and tell him what you want. I got mine from there. There like 2.25 inches long or so. CZ
  5. I second that...well I married one! Once you go Asian, you'll never go back! Man Im actually gonna miss Okinawa. Lookinfg at all the pretty gals anyway. Its all look no touch these days, but I still remember the young days before marriage. God what a great place it was then.......They are great girls that will generally take care of you forever. Treat them like an Angel and you will be the King...... CorZette!
  6. lol...sounds so familiar....luckily for me I got to spend two years restoring mine in Okinawa while I was here. I am still not done but it keeps me busy. Spending is gonna be seriously deminished shortly as I am retiring and will need a stinkin job...lol. I am frantically buying lots of stuff now to finish my upgrades etc. The bad thing is its all on bredit and will still have to apy later! lol. I though a VISA card was supposed to be majic or something! Good Luck Joe, you now have 10 minutes remaining! CZ
  7. I know what ya mean Joe....its great isn't it!!!! The search for the truth....the Z is a religion....
  8. Tannji, greetings!!! Well if you can let me know when you are changing I would love to have them. My CV conversion will go sometime before December. Ill do my brakes here in Oki before going stateside. Thanks for looking out brother!!! CorZette
  9. Well, I have entered yet another evolution involving the never ending money pit. I just ordered a SIX POINT cage here in Japan for $548.00 and it will be here in 2 weeks! Im stoked about that but.....I also located and bought the 280ZXT CV axles for the rear swap!!!!! Im gonna explode from excitement. Does it get any better you ask? Well YES!!!! I just ordered the rear disk upgrade kit from ROSS!!!!!! Man all I need now is some 240Z flanges to send to Ross. I know I should upgrade to the 280 stubs but I cant do it right now. I want this to be a direct bolt in without needing any special tools. Does anyone have access to a pair of 240 axles that may have done the upgrade earlier? Other than that I am stoked. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. After that all I need is the Tranny upgrade to the Raptor Stage III and Im set! (Until something breaks) But with all the upgrades hopefully it wont!!!!! All this in just 2 years and 3 months.....A nice gift to myself before retirement! Thanks for listening! Im fricken stoked...Im coming home!!!! Im retiring!!!!! Im gonna be a stinkin civilian!!!!! Im gonna race my Z!!!!!!! Texas never looked better!!!!!! Man sorry to freak out but IM HOMEWARD BOUND fellow Zers!!!!!!! OOHH FRICKEN RAHHH!!!! Any DevilDogs out there? Semper Fi my brothers!!!!
  10. Damon, congrats! Lots of positions overseas but don't know much about the states yet. If theres a base near you I would go to the HRO office and see what they offer. Im not looking for anything high paying, just enough to take care of my Z hobby and a little extra for this and that. The wife has a career as well so it helps alot. Where are you located? What was your job in the military? If your into military furniture sales via govt contracts, I can refer you to an east coast rep for University Loft Company http://www.universityloft.com Just thought I would throw that out there. Sales are not for everyone but this is great pay if hired. Semper Fi... CorZette
  11. Man, what a group. Thanks for the kind words guys. It really means alot to me to hear that I am appreciated. I sense that there may be some old dogs out there as well? I guess once a Marine always a Marine Z-Dreamer but all I have in Angelo is an AirForce base. Oh well I guess itll do. ZFan I am 6 hours south of you but close enough. I just don't think I can make it up there with out puttin her on the trailer (the Z that is). Gas usage is rediculous but fun Let me know when you get your AFRs. By the way I just got a 6 point cage for $548 here in Oki. Its a bolt in ready to go with pads. Thats actually cheap for here but Id rather have it before I come back. I also located some CV axles and 280 stubs so when I get back I have to send them to Ross to get the adapters. I can't wait. Things are getting closer to being almost complete. The last thing is the rear disk upgrade....then theres that tranny replacement....Im thinking of the Raptor Stage III. Any suggestions? Semper Fi! P.S. Pete thanks for looking out! CorZette
  12. By the way I now have a 10 gallon cell and I must get only like 7 miles to the gallon or something.....I am always putting gas in the tank....jeez!!!!! Its not daily driving friendly unless I take alot of money with me to fill it up every 10 minutes...lol CZ
  13. Man...I know I was really looking forward to the races in December. I am installing my Aluminum cell today, the plastic one was a BAD BAD choice as it started warping due to the heat. This one is good to go. I ordered the 280ZXT CV shafts, trying to get the 280Z stub axles to mail to Ross but no reply back on those yet. I was also planning on getting a Raptor 700R4 before December as well. Oh well more goodies to get done when I get back. After that the rear upgrade and rollcage and Ill be done....sorta. That doesn't count the never ending evolution of the things we do. Oh Im picking up some rear 180SX calipers for cheap to go with the rear disc conversion Ross has for sale. Same as the 240SX ones. Anyway if there is anything anyone needs that I can get at a junk yard let me know and Ill price the parts for you. Yes we definately need to have a Texas meet!!!! More later!!!! CZ
  14. I will be back in the states by November!!!!!! Yee HAWWWWW!!!!! I cant wait to run the Z down an AMERICAN drag strip! 22 years in the corps AND now Im done.....fricken YEE HAWWWW! Going to San Angelo TX>>>>>

  16. Mike, I wouldnt take a chance on the bigger runners. Go with the 190 or 195s. What is your RWHP now? If your running 12.30s at 2730lbs, you should be pushing around 348 RWHP or so. I should be in the elevens with 380RWHP. I think you would be real happy with the 195s with your setup or the 190s if you dont plan on going 383... CZ
  17. Can someone tell me if 240SX and 180SX rear calipers are the same. There are a ton of these cars in the junk yards here in Okinawa. The 180SX is the Japanese counterpart of the American 240SX. I think Ross wanted $300+ bucks for a pair that goes to the rear upgrade. If they are the same I can get these here cheap because everyone is always upgrading from them....any input? Stoney you out there? CZ
  18. I went to AutoShop Turbo the first time. I am going to HKS next because they have a better Dyno that shows the torque curve as well. They will give me 2 runs for 5000yen. I can advance the timing and see if it helps. The AutoShop Turbo guy was kinda clueless. I had to school him on the automatic. He kept asking me where the clutch was...lol. The first run he did the run in 2nd gear, it tried to lift off the roller. It scared the piss out of me because I could just see my car crashing into the wall in front. The second run, he got it right. Its a trip seeing your car doing 200KPH on a roller. I will get some pics/mpgs in Dec if I get to run. CZ
  19. ScottyMiz, your car looks awesome...wholly crap I love it! Thanks for the advice. I wish Japan had more 240s here...there just not around much. Im trying to hold off the turbo blenders single handed. Ineed help!!!! Somebody join the Marines and bring your Zs over here!!! LOL. CZ
  20. Mike, Im running 9:7:1 with everything I know about my setup. I basically built the 450HP (crank) setup that AFR has on their site. The only difference is mine is .040 over vice .030. If I compare my rear wheel (380 HP) and subtract it from the 450 crank HP, i am netting only a 15.5% drivetrain loss. That rocks! Surely Im not making more than 450 at the crank. Yes their cams rock. Mine is 230/236 510/520 at 110 LS. Looks like a step up from yours. Your compression is a bit higher than mine. What numbers do you get when you put your setup into DeskTop? Just curious. Mine is right on with AFRs numbers. http://www.airflowresearch.com Check Dyno tests.... CZ
  21. Mike, YES!!!!! Get the AFRs. I am awe with them. Unbelievable results on the DYNO. I think you read my post on it. $1200 out of the box. I would suggest the match ported intake as well. I can feel my exhaust hit me at idle standing 5 feet away with Mufflers attached. Pretty cool. CZ
  22. Someone asked what my setup was...here it is: 350SBC .040 over SCAT 350 crank 3.48 Eagle I beam full floater rods KB119 (I think) flat tops hypers Total seal rings Comp Cams XR282 HR Retrofit Roller Lifters Retro fit Roller rockers 1.5 Hardened pushrods double roller gear and chain AFR 190 Heads AFR match ported intake Holley 750DP 71/80 Jets on 1st Dyno run 1 inch carb spacer (morosso) Holley blue pump 1/2 in feed and 3/8 return triangle 10 gallon cell aluminum MSD 6A with blaster coil and Pro Billet Distributor Polymer Dist drive gear (this rocks) Ceramic coated block huggers 1 5/8 2 1/2 collectors and dual pipe to XPIPE then exits out rear left and right DynoMax mufflers 700r4 built with 2800 stall lockup and balloon plate (just in case) JTR setback Griffin 4 core aluminum radiator Taurus 2 speed fan (only use low speed) morosso catch can Tranny cooler Brake canister MSD 8.5 wires NGK plugs Rear tires Nitto 555R 275-50-15s (They hook great) Front tires Dunlop 205-60-15s Drive Shaft loop Tokiko Illuminas and Arizona Z Springs 225/200 I think R200 3:54 LSD Drive Shaft upgrade to GM UJoint rear Front brake upgrade Toyota 4 piston Im getting tired. 23. Thanks DavyZ! Well there will be a few that I can't touch but I will beat at least 80% of them. Dollar for dollar spent, no one can touch me....especially naturally aspirated. With all things being equal the V8 will be the star of the show. Now if I can olny get a V8 that is built! CZ
  24. Thanks guys for the advice. Stony has told me he uses the solid mount with no problems. At the moment we are putting out about the same power to the rear wheels so the solid diff should work. However I am putting a stage III Raptor 700R4 in October that has superhard shifts. Im a little hestitant about the shifts from 1st to second at 5800RPMS. I think Ill go ahead and try the solid mount and see if it works out. If not Ill get another cross member and strap it again. By the way those numbers are probably coming mostly from the AFR heads and intake...I love em! Corzette
