  1. Could you provide a link please? thanks I think I found a nice one. It is a 16" Zirgo. Summit has them for 92 bucks. It flows 2700 CFM and at only 10 amps. It is also not too thick at 3.5" http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?part=hfm-zfb16s
  2. Thoes of you running Aluminum radiators. What electric fans are you using. On my old setup ZXTurbo Radiator with twin 12" pullers. That just fits. I just got my new Summit Aluminum radiator and it looks like these fans are not going to fit side by side anylonger. Total core width is 20.5" I could use one as a puller and one as a pusher on the other side. So lets see some pics and or suggestions on E fans and Aluminum rads..
  3. That would be a neat swap. although it would seem to be a lot of work for 260 fly wheel HP. I guess it would depend on the aftermarket. I would think that the truck cams wouldnt be too great but who knows. Also would depend on how much you could get the motor tranny and harness for.
  4. Something is not right. Do you have a wideband? or a fuel pressure gauge? Start with checking the easy stuff. Reseat the ECU, clean all grounds and contacts. make sure there are no vacuum leaks. Change the plugs and make sure to get NGK plugs. I am assuming this is a stock ZX turbo motor running with no IC and stock electronics.
  5. The first pic there is of my Z. I made a cold air intake and have it there. What I am trying to find out though is hard data if the air gets "reheated" and at noticeable rate the way I currently have it. This thread is interesting so far guys. keep em coming..
  6. It has been talked about before. I would like to find out some hard evidence on the way to route intercooler piping in the S30. The three designs I am interested in this topic are as follows in the pics. First up is the way I currently have my IC pipes setup. 1 Second up is the way Austin used to have his IC pipes with the cold and hot sides swapped. 2 The third is using the IC inlet and outlet on the same side as austin does in his new setup. 3 Austin, or anyone else. Do you have the intake temps to go along with each of these setups? Hard data to tell which way is the most effecient and has the lower intake temps. I am looking for real facts here and personal exp. I currently am running the stock ECU so I dont have a way to monitor intake temps. pretty soon I will be running MsNs. Does anyone out there have about the same IC setup as do I and a ECU that monitors intake temps? Is all of this Moot, since the turbo sits under the intake manifold anyways and just soaks it in that dreaded "HEAT" Thanks for stopping by and let the mythbusting begin.
  7. As Jimbo stated.. he is using Megasquirt which uses a MAP sensor. there is no MAF or AFM. Jimbo, You need to find a way to take the BOV off the engine make a cover plate and bolt it on the BOV flange. make sure there is no leaks.Cap off where you got your vacuum reference to your BOV. run the car and see if it surges. Another way to test for Major boost leaks is to take one section of the pluming off (if you have a intercooler this needs to be on the hot side). get the correct size PVC end cap and make a tiny hole in the end of it. Using a Air compressor put some air into the system.. you can use smoke as well to find leaks. Since your engine wasnt doing this before the BOV install, It most likely is defective or something up with the flange. Also yeah a wideband is a very important gauge to have as well as the ability to datalog(as Tony stated) and look back and whats going on.. Good luck man.

  10. Sounds to me like the cheapo BOV is leaking all the boost out.. try unhooking the vacuum or removing it and plugging the hole. My guess would be that it is leaking boost. I see you are running Megasquirt right? do you have a wideband hooked up as well? see what your AFR's are doing when the surging starts..

  15. I did the same with my supra injectors. I am running a Pallnet O ring fuel rail. It all is working great.. I am running the non turbo 311 injectors. But once I go Megasquirt I will switch over to my 440 turbo injectors.

  18. Option 4-- Look into buying a house. In most cases it is cheaper to have a mortgage then it is to rent a apt. then after you are about to move into your awesome house (with garage or course for the Z) call the cops as they are baking a way.
