  1. Looking forward to seeing this beast roar back to life again, it's been too long.
  2. Got a couple things done after work today. 1. Foot long silicone coupler I got to fix my intercooler charge pipe because it was just a little short. Cut it in half for a six inch long one. 2. Intercooler piping clamped in. 3. Mounted the ecu. It's padded and Velcro'ed for a nice snug, secure fit.
  3. 1. I have rolls of this foam with sticky on the back that I'm going to line the inside of a bracket with in addition to velco I'm putting on the bottom to keep it secure. Not done with it yet... 2. I'm using the stock tank for now to get it running for the time being, not gonna be doing any hard driving for now and am gonna keep the tank topped off with fuel. 3. I have a power fc ecu which is maf based. Not to mention that a map setup is expensive to do on the rb25. The hks bov seals itself under throttle and I didn't have an issue while running it on my previous build. 4. As for the Love Fab, I'm gonna shoot Cody an email today and see what's up with it. He's a good guy, just been having a lot coming up.
  4. Finished a variety of small things today and am also waiting for a few parts to arrive so I can get some things finished. Working on an ECU bracket, almost finished with it.
  5. Depends on the manifold. Some of the cheap-o ones are super high because they are easier to make. On quality ones it depends on the design of keeping the runners equal and clearing the steering shaft among other things. As for the air flowing up, technically hot air rises but I'm sure that is negligible and has no bearing on the design. It mostly has to do with what I said above and an easier fitment of a large turbo.
  6. I've gotten little things done here and there. The main thing I've been working on is fuel delivery. This isn't my final solution but I just want to use what I have for the time being to make her cruise worthy. However, I did find a leak and I have to take off the lines and refit them to make sure all is seated properly. Let's see what I can get done today...

  8. Looking at your build makes mine seem inadequate haha. Nice job on the custom stuff.
  9. If your interested in it we can work out a good price. The tip has a little bend in it from the wreck but everything else looks fine. I'm sure the tip could be knocked back into shape no problem. I can get you a picture if you want.
  10. Found exactly what I was looking for, came today from Summit Racing. It's a Magnaflow with a 3" inlet and outlet with a 4" body. I'm gonna paint it all flat black and leave it tip-less for a sleeper look. It fits nice under the rear exhaust cut out. Compared to the HKS: Installed down pipe from the other day: Installed and wired my intake & MAF: No picture yet but I'm almost done making a bracket setup for the fuel pump so I can knock my fuel system off the to-do list. Gonna go down to the junkyard tomorrow morning and get a fuse block and possibly a few things and am going to devote the whole day to whatever I can get done on the Z.
  11. It's been raining the past two days and it should be cleared up from now on. I did manage to get down to the auto parts store and bought a metal gasket for where the turbo elbow and the downpipe bolt up together. Got the gasket on and the bolts torqued on the downpipe so that's one more thing off the list. I ordered a new muffler which should be arriving tomorrow. Isn't much left to do and should be running here pretty soon, gonna get on it now that the rain has let up.
  12. That 280zx actually would look pretty slick with a little work. My only issue with them is that they sent smog exempt
  13. Had a little time today so I went ahead and made a hole in the firewall for the wiring harness, etc. to come through. I'm aiming for a better wiring job than on my 280z which looked like complete rubbish. I'll put up better pictures when I'm further along but I used a rubber grommet like the one seen on the stock wiring harness in the picture I pulled at the junk yard a long time ago to make it nice and tidy. It was kind of a pain to find a good spot for the hole but I am happy with it as it's discreet in the engine bay and up under the dash in the car. Just a start...
  14. Long day at work today, another long day tomorrow and finals Monday through Thursday next week. Couldn't really muster up the will to get anything done today, even though I'm trying to do at least one thing everyday. I want to get it her running very soon. Took a few snapshots; What's left to do: Mount & pipe intercooler Sort electrical Mount ECU Replace engine oil & filter Fill up trans with oil Wire up speedo & tach (already fitted) Install boost controller system Figure out what to do with fuel system Buy muffler & take to exhaust shop for fitment That's what's left to get the RB cranking, there's another to do list for aftermarket turbo/manifold fitment and a list after that for when I begin my horsepower hunt.
  15. Why bother at this point bro, you almost have a complete 2JZ swap. Spend the money on getting the 2JZ in and going. I'd imagine you could start pulling everything out now and get a start on the fab work to get it in which shouldnt cost too much.
  16. Fixed brake hydraulic leak, bled the brakes, bled the clutch, and completed mounting my radiator. Not too bad for one day. It's cool because finally all my pedals are functional now
  17. Nah, couldn't justify the extra $100+ for one. This one cost me $35. Got everything put in though, belt and everything all installed
  18. I'm in Lemon Grove. Got the timing belt in, time to fit it.
  19. Do you have it around still? I've seen the eBay one but I don't really want to spend $120 on something like this.
  20. Thanks man. Last update for the day, Modified the stock 240z bell crank throttle pedal to work with a cable. Got it all installed and it works great!
  21. I talked to Cody about the manifold last week and a good friend of his was killed in a Rally America race after he lost control of his car. He's helping the family with the arrangements so he's going through some hard times right now. I'm hoping to get it soon enough nonetheless. In the mean time Water pump done:
  22. Basically free engine? Drop that sucker in and use the money saved to do a few bolt on's!
  23. Hey man, Im in San Diego. Very slick project you got yourself there.
  24. ^ yea, that's an L pulley, thanks for checking though Joel! Hmm, this search for the pulley is a little harder than I thought. I don't really want to put back the one I have on it but I also don't want to spend $100+ on an aftermarket one. Maybe it will bend back when I torque it back on, it's just slightly bent. On the other hand I don't want anything funky anymore since I spent the time and money to change the harmonic damper, waterpump, and timing belt.
  25. Yup it's a shame, but an RB is head and shoulders above what even a turbo'ed Honda is in my opinion. Not to mention a four cylinder Honda will never ever sound as good as an RB no matter what you do to it. You looking at a twin disk setup or something? Been working on swapping the water pump. I've ordered a new timing belt, just going with a new OEM one. Here's the old pump after I took it off;
