  1. do you mean spirit garage?
  2. when i was reading my haynes manual i noticed that the free lengths (i'm guessing this means the unsprung length of the spring ) for the front springs are LH - 14.1" and RH - 15.1" for the 240z. the free lengths for the 260z fronts were both 15.5". seeing as i have an early 260z i didn't pay much attention to it but that may be where you've run into trouble. i would think that if you picked up another 260z front spring you would solve your problem. BTW the rear springs are all the same lengths at 15.0".
  3. the lines i was asking about are the steel ones that go down the length of the rack. will those ones need to be rerouted or do they fit well? on the subaru rack i'm playing with the lines are routed under the rack and i would need to make new ones that ran along either the front or the top of the rack.
  4. ron, what size wheels and tires are you running?
  5. try this site http://www.geocities.com/MotorCity/Boulevard/6117/zbrakeupgrade.html and check out http://www.modern-motorsports.com.
  6. all z31 turbos have the 5 bolt 11 3/8" rear discs, the 4 bolt 11 3/8" discs came on the 84 to early 85s then they changed to a smaller rotor on the rear.
  7. i believe they are sold in pairs.
  8. check out http://www.modern-motorsports.com Ross really knows his stuff.
  9. you can also pick up replica rails and floors at this site http://www.datsunzparts.com/

  11. awesome!! looks like the rack doesn't take up any more space than the stock one. do you know the steering ratio and rotations from lock to lock?
  12. check out http://www.modern-motorsports.com.
  13. why not just use a welder to add more material and then grind it smooth. or leave it a little rough so the bushings can't spin?
  14. are you running the stock fuel rail?
  15. i know arizona z car has a 5 lug aluminum front hub in one of their packages. i wonder how much of a savings something like that would be? the z31 5 bolt hub weighs 5 to 6 lbs. without the bearings and races.
  16. any auto wrecker should be hooked up to the hollander website and should give you any interchange info they have for nothing.
  17. i would just take your stock pulleys down to a machine shop and get them to make you up a cool set of aluminum ones then get them anodized. any good machinist can make those in his sleep.
  18. OK.. that makes sense. i guess as long as you can still turn around at the end of the strip that's all that matters.
  19. a Victoria British catalog is a good place to find this kind of cross reference info. according to mine the fenders and headlight cases are exactly the same. the hoods all fit but do have some variations as far as vents. the hatches should be the same except for the early 240s because they had the cabin vents in them which were later moved to where the z emblems are above the rear wheels. lastly, all the doors will swap but the window regulators, door lock components and interior trim components are different between years. hope this helps.
  20. this thread mentions ABS http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=20144 here is the site for Quaife http://www.quaifeamerica.com/ keep in mind that there are two types of R-200 diffs. the one you have has 10mm ring bolts and most of the diffs found in the 300zx's have 12mm ring bolts. hope this helps and welcome!
  21. i seem to recall seeing a brake setup on e-bay from arizona z car which sounded quite close to the setup in question!! is that the kit you purchased?
