Jboogsthethug's 1971 240z build88dangerdan replied to Jboogsthethug's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z I pretty much followed 240hoke's right up on how to do it. I added a small album of pics. After I finished welding the inner and outer fender together and grinding/sanding it down. I used a flexible sealing putting to finish it out. Then when I did the undercoating with "Por15 bedliner" I brought it out to the edge. For the front I left an extra 1/4" before I made the cut so I could fold it back over on itself. You can see that in the last picture. https://goo.gl/photos/L3YH6KdVmXK5kFWw9

Jboogsthethug's 1971 240z build88dangerdan replied to Jboogsthethug's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z I haven't master the cropping and pasting of quotes to reply to. Sad I know. But yes,"jboog" buy doing it the way I did dimpled the inner fender just enough to allow clearance for the riv-nuts. I'll see if I can get a picture of it.

Jboogsthethug's 1971 240z build88dangerdan replied to Jboogsthethug's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z . Quote I already had the rivet holes drilled, but on a lot of those spots I couldn't fit the rivets in because they'd hit the inner fender. I fixed this by first drilling a small guide hole as centered as I could (going through the main hole into the inner fender) Thought I would add my experience with this same situation. On the holes where the inner fender didn't allow the riv-nuts to go in completely, I took a rounded tip punch and taking my time, I put through the outer fender hole and kept tapping and checking until I had it sitting flush. Unfortunately I did punch through on one. But was an easy fix with the mig.

Help Fitting Zg fender flares front88dangerdan replied to mark240z's topic in Fabrication / Welding I just used a small pair of channel-locks. Didn't try and get it all in one bend, made a couple of passes. Then used a finishing hammer and a wood block to flatten out.

Do the por15 bedliner. That's what I did, and one of the main reasons for using was because it has a longer pot/can life than the regular por15 and supposed to have same protection characteristics.

Why would you ship that from America? A 2+2 story88dangerdan replied to Villeman's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z Looking good. The front inner fenders are 3 piece, 4 if you count the little rubber mud flap. I'll pull out the ones I have and see if I have complete sets.

If they are, they are custom of course. And look to be done very well.

Are you still in Oakland? I'm located in Stockton
-
Yes there is a difference. You need to look for '77-'78.

The switch is an "on-off-on" that can be found at most Auto parts store. I used one for my electric antenna. One side up and the other side down. Coming to rest in the center/off position

Installed center console..alignment question with pics..260z88dangerdan replied to ZMONSTR's topic in Interior I too have an early 260z. Best thing to do is line up the 3 holes in the armrest area and hope the gap isn't to bad. And this is the stock center console.
