  1. Yes, truely scary! We are going to start traveling heavily for about 18 months or so. I need to keep alert. Are there any sites that give you advice as to this sort of stupidity?
  2. looks good but can't put it on stainless eh?
  3. Yep, basically you can get stock parts farily easily but they are to be bought as Rover parts. (this engine is the SBC of the UK) Threre are performance parts out there as well, but I've only seen one source as of yet. This was my original choice of swap but the guy's here talked me out of it. I didn't even know there was a Turbo version. The worst thing is that this is in NE OKLA! I LIVE IN NE OKLA!!! Argh.. Just for grins, this buick going to bolt up to engine mounts and trans like a SBC? Just asking...
  4. The only think I don't like about them is that they have a hole on the passenger side to allow the original dash insignia show "THROUGH". It is just a cheesy tough IMO. Other than that, has been installed for a year pluss w/ no issues. Kept out of the sun btw...
  5. Good luck, good to see another T-town guy on the site. Where you work?
  6. A bit of info...http://www.reference.com/browse/wiki/Rust After reading it all, looks like I was wrong.... But it does sound dumb to say "The aluminum is rusting"...
  7. I suggest that you DON'T SPRAY or WIPE Mercury on it....
  8. Please stop calling it rust. It's corrosion like John says. Lots of metal's carrode but we don't call it all RUST. Rust is FeO2 right, not just any oxide. Maybe I'm wrong.
  9. What JohnC said, they are made of some sort of pot turd metal. I get most of mine from NAPA...
  10. Have Ya'll seen this? I am sure this has been out for a while but it's still beta... Couple of fun things that came up under the simple search for "Datsun" http://catalogs.google.com/catalogs?hl=en&lr=&issue=13020&catpage=99 http://catalogs.google.com/catalogs?start=10&hl=en&lr=&issue=2541&catpage=21 http://catalogs.google.com/catalogs?start=10&hl=en&lr=&issue=23209&catpage=115 http://catalogs.google.com/catalogs?start=20&hl=en&lr=&issue=4678&catpage=339 ENJOY!
  11. It looks like it's going to puke itself...
  12. One of the few NEW cars I'd actually buy new...if only I had the $$...
  13. what do those kits run? Hey mike, here's a starter... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/not-available_W0QQitemZ4578258092QQcategoryZ10156QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
  14. you all going to post some pics or what???
  15. Powder coat eh? I'll search around and see how difficult it is to get the stainless trim off of all the glass... Good THD...
  16. So it's shiney? I am thinking it's not the look I want. I want something more flat, like a cotton fabric or something like that. I am going to look around and see what I can find. I had a camero that I put a fabric on the back panels because it was sun rotted, looked pretty good and wouldn't scratch and stuff. thoughts?
  17. There is a STICKY at the top of the wiring forum... EDIT: It's now under ENGINE COMPONENTS / IGNITION & ELECTRICAL / "Painless harness to Z column harness (headlight combo switch). Everything you need.
  18. The trim around the window's is Stainless though right? I wouldn't want to have them chromed and then blackened, just blacken the SS. Right? If I have to paint them, that's cool, I'd like to see them pics RacerX
  19. So what does that "Vinyl" paint look like? Is it just a textured paint?
  20. Ok, so I am trying to work on the car as much as I can w/ out spending much $$, saving for my engine. I am putting my interior back together and need some input from you guy's as to what I should do w/ my plastic interior panells. They are black but a bit faded and dirty. Should I:? 1. Clean, prime and paint flat black? Cheapest, easiest? Special paint needed? 2. Clean, and glue some fabric? Might look a bit nicer if done right and could add some sound deadening? What glue, what kind of fabric? 3. Other? I'm open, let me know what you all have done and what you think.
