  1. I would look into Ross C's stub axles, he was supposedly putting together a few sets of race prepped stub axles, then possibly goign for an r230 or r200 with cv axles?
  2. I believe you blew fifth gear, which on the early trannies shares the same rail as reverse. Time for rebuild or new trans.
  3. All those cars are pretty cool I think for different reasons, I would go for that v8 conversion with solid rear end, my dream is to build a drag car that pulls em up hard..
  4. Im on the lookout for a good s13 or s14 at the moment, seems like all the ones in my reigon are overpriced, luck of the draw I guess. Fastest stock 240sx ive seen yet , 89 no sunroof manual windows, was in the passenger seat drag racing against my buddies s13 same year with power everything, and it was worth an entire car lead!
  5. doesnt matter, b525, guy or gal in sn95 has 30years of tech in the suspension and chassis and double the displacement, pat yourself on the back.
  6. Depends on what youre trying to do with it. From my buddies that drift, the s13 guys can all see themselves going s14 down the road, the s13 is lighter and whips around quicker, while the s14 is more stable and takes more hp to drift like the s13 will with the SOHC and a good diff. The DOHC ka vs. the SOHC versions will be right next to each other in a drag race, driver skill being the difference-Seen it too many times. s14s go for a lot more than s13s, being newer of course. If youre going to swap engines s13 probably better, due to obd1. s14 feels more like a acura legend and a s13 feels like an acura integra, but both of them are good driving cars. Im looking for the 97-up version because of the nicer headlights. s13s are abundant out here but the prices on them have gone up a lot for a not so nicely treated one. ON the five lug s14, rb and 300zxtt brakes nearly bolt on!!!
  7. supras are known to dyno 300 at the wheels stock.
  8. sn95 is last year of the 5.0 engine right? 240hp I believe.
  9. Unless the primadonna has a new engine in it, last I heard it dynoed 225.... That red z is beau-ti-ful...
  10. its not uncommon to see a fuel pressure guage kinda "vibrate" but stay at its set pressure. If its jumping high to low id check for blockage via fuel filter or possibly bad ground. How do you have fuel pump hooked up?
  11. I would space it away from the exhaust manifold a little bit. Ill trade you for a one piece turbo exh manifold if its troublesome to find that piece though
  12. I like the 3pc manifold, it looks real easy to port, and you could always replace one of those pieces with a external wastegate setup.
  13. I myself wouldnt do it but here is what I think it would take, off the top of my head kinda reversing what I pulled OUT of my car to run turbo efi. The harness, it comes out in one piece with the connectors and a couple grounds. You would need the efi relays which are right over the ecu. You would need to run distributor drive spindle of the NA setup to use the distributor. Thermostat housing of the NA engine, so you can run the thermotime switch Theres a bunch of stuff I know im missing, you would also need to use a wiring schematic to know which wires to run to 12v and ign and so forth. Ive pulled out quite a few 280z/x NA harnesses, and they look pretty simple, easier than turbo harness and turbo harness is EZ.
  14. Well, whatever bro, I know theres an Idle adjustment because Ive used it, its under the pivot for the throttle linkage and you might have to take off the tb to get to it. If its ported vacum signal out of the port I wouldnt know since I run turbo efi and digital timing. NOW FIX SOMETHING
  15. idle adjustment is the little screw that should be located by where the throttle linkage is, it is on the BOTTOM side of the tb, and is hard to get to. Ive done the 60mm quite a few times, and ive had some issue with idle on the factory 280z and zx fuel system (turbo setups dont have do it though) and adjusting the screw was the fix. For the tps I used 240sx tps and just matched wiring and soldered into 280 harness. Plug and play basically. I also had to plug the very small vacum port on the tb as well. I would hook up a guage to see what the fuel pressure is doing before switching a bunch of parts.
  16. I believe it switches when the o2 heats up, on my car I can hear it switching, it goes from a semi misfiring idle to a really smooth one, the 3" mandrel exhaust helps that out.
  17. dont have to use 300 transistor to use the coil. its a two wire hookup, blue goes to blue wire, the green or other colored wire goes to b/w, turn the key.
  18. You need to take it to the track and see what it runs.
  19. sds is good if you dont have a laptop.
  20. I think the toyota motor is hotter, but Id have to have the 6spd.
  21. If you are stuck for time and need the conversion to go smoother I would go witht the 3.8 without any shadow of a doubt. Painless or another vendor of the sort makes a fuel and spark harness for that engine, turbo and ecu shouldnt be too hard to find either. Plumbing the crossover pipe may be a hassle though. Supra engine might be a pain in the ass if you use factory harness. If I had the choice I would do 2jz with a haltech setup right off the bat, and drive around with no hood
