  1. stock 240sx wheels are FWD offset and they are 15x6 possibly 15x6.5
  2. That exact same thing happened to me two years ago. Youre late bro . I was rolling to a toll booth when all of the sudden I couldnt put the car into nuetral, I had to tear the boot off the shifter to see what happened, saw it, and saw the pin on the ground. At the toll booth, I was about to get my car towed until I saw the pin-I get out and reach under the car and grab the pin, slide it back in, pay the toll and drive home, with my hand holding the pin all the way home. Never say Never.
  3. turbohoses.com does it, they are in san ramon.
  4. At&t decided that I shouldnt run a fiberglass air dam by draping a powerline low across the street and having me do a Back to the Future clothesline move. Since then, my projects paid itself off
  5. Also, the stock valance of a 280z is rounded more and hangs down lower, the bre front spoiler may end up rubbing on even small bumps. Caution.
  6. What was the fuel pressure at when you had the more ideal WOT af mixture? Your dyno #s sound very familiar...
  7. 240z valance wont fit on a 280z without a LOT of cutting, it hits in three different places that I would not want to cut, it was a while back but I swear you dang near had to notch the frame for it to clear. Tried to do it once.
  8. Strokers are awesome, one thats built for turbo is even better, long rod short stroke big bore, its just fundamental that its going to make a bit more power at the same boost levels. I think it would be fun and somewhat of an accomplishment to put one together and run it hard, but I dont think the expense is warranted when you have the real hp maker is bolted to your exhaust manifold Custom L machine work costs a lot, especially the headwork, and can be made up or exceeded with some more boost. What is your hp goal? Mine on a turbo setup is in the area of 300rwhp, relatively low but very doable on a stock motor, weak point still being the pistons-but with good tuning the pistons are not a liability. Only thing I would change on my next motor if I stay L6 is forged pistons, a metal headgasket, and arp rod and head bolts. A compression increase to 8.0 or so with the pistons to liven it up out of the boost, but not much else-that L6 bottom end is pretty dang strong. L motor can take a pretty big overbore and still have strong cylinder walls. They can go up to .120 over or so if it sonic checks ok.
  9. Or for those of us that want 275 hp without spending $7000 on headwork. Exactly..
  10. You might well be in with a shot for the job of Top Gear's USA correspondent. OOOOOhh Beehave! (austin powers accent)
  11. take that driveshaft to any driveline shop and just get the factory v8 ujoints installed at both ends, they go a long way in a light car.
  12. Whens the hulk gonna be ready, that cars the one with the sick parts. Ive raced two other s30s and it was a joy killing both of them, 1st one had a rebello motor and was screaming bloody murder about bad gas, 2nd one was a JTR -his wheel hop was defeated by the super squat and boost technique. Anyways the hulks buildup sounds tough and you got the right guy putting it together thats for sure.
  13. Man that is a fart cannon. Recently cut the fart cannon (HKS muffler) off my 83zxt before I sold it, and I was suprised, it doesnt sound very loud at all, sounds like a TPI with flowmasters, quieter though, took some of the tone away from the exhaust note, but not that loud.
  14. so far won against: LT1 trans am VR6 golf (mods) S2000 civics and crx's like whoa.. even with swaps N/A MR2 Turbo MR2 76 280Z with tripple webers (man it was nice, silver and souned awesome!!) and im sure im missing a few others. Man youre taking my job away! Just kidding, have it
  15. Could somebody explain to me what a LAN party is? I have a mental image of people PM'ing each other even though they are sitting right next to each other. Is it like one of those internet cafes where they play shootem video games online with a lot of people except in someones house? Ive been to almost every other party (gangster, writer, hip hop, punk, goth, club, hipster dufus, etc etc) but no LAN parties though. Crashed two hipster dufus parties over the weekend, god the vespa crowd is gonna get me one of these days....
  16. L6 just refers to the straight six that came in every US Z from 70-83 in variations of 2.4, 2.6, and 2.8.
  17. Could not find a description of them online but I have descriptions before that read something like: Shotpeened and magnafluxed for competition use on 280zx. Pretty pricy something like 600.00 for the pair, but less than r230 conversion axles and should be pretty strong. Wondering if anyone has used them, because Ive never heard of anyone running them. Thanx. http://courtesyparts.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=CP&Category_Code=s30_nismo_competition-axles
  18. You could also check the gas filler hose and check all the other vent hoses from the filler for leaks.
  19. I Run a super sequential, and I LOVE it. Its got a really fast acting push diaphram that will NOT leak at idle. I ran mine off the first 90 in my old IC piping about 8 inches away from the TB. Its loud as hell and gets louder the more boost you shoot thru it. I dont know what size BOV im running, I think any size that HKS makes should be fine. The photo you posted looks almost identical to how I had mine setup. The photo says this to me INSTANT GRATIFICATION. Nothing like rolling by my fellow ricers and hitting the SHOWOFF valve on em..DO IT!
  20. The Heavier duty worm gear types are set up so that the "holes" (whatever you call it the holes that the worm gear grips to I guess?) do not contact the couplers. Best example off the top of my head would be like a radiator hose, where when you pull the clamp off you can see an imprint of those holes. In a boost situation the tugging of the coupler with a "normal" type worm gear clamp wears into the coupler and can rip it off after time. The HD style ones dont do this, and generally have a wider gripping surface then a normal clamp. T-bolt is even better, and they should be available at a diesel repair shop or Napa.
  21. A buddy of mine tapped his 60mm throttle body spacer to run one a Intake Air sensor. I have my intake tapped for one, currently plugged. You can run one in the jpipe, I wouldnt do it since odds are you are going to intercooler it. You can also run it right before the throttle body in the intercooler pipe.
  22. Everything in L6 bottom end except the pistons are forged, its nice.
  23. I think you can pull it off, but I would get a wider tire up front. I did it for years in a car very similar to yorus, v8z and all, but I had four on the floor.
