  1. Your s14 already has SR power correct? Just saw that you are from UK in your profile. Well that isnt a swap to you then. RB is actually pretty straight forward and there are kits for it. vg30dett bearly fits into its own chassis. there would be tons of mods needed for it clear the chassis. it does make great power though. There arent very many people who have done vg30dett swaps into any cars, there is like two early zcars out in US that have done it, both owners of the cars work in high performance parts/tuning industry though. If you want originality, the vg is a lot of work and you may have to pull the engine for any type of work off to the sides of the engine, but hey ITS ONLY METAL

    Orgasm Day

    you guys need to fight.
  3. z31.com has a breakdown of the different transmissions used in the z31 the later years used the same trans as a z32tt, and those have been known to hold up 500+hp in the twin turbo body
  4. What kind of clutch did you use? The stock 240mm clutch slipped on me running 10psi on my third run at the 1/4. Rpm drop from 2nd at 5800rpm to 3rd it dropped to 3k struggled and then started pulling. No powershifting, just shifting fast. Of course, I went for run #4 and third gear slipped so bad that I just got off the gas and cruised through the traps in order to save enough clutch to get home.. Ended up replacing it with a spec stg2 clutch, diaphram style clutch with kevlar disc and heavy duty pp, didnt slip at all, but wasnt as aggressive clamp wise as i would have liked it. Didnt want to break the clutch fork.
  5. Actually ive had good and bad experiences with them depending on I talked to on the phone. It just killed me though when they told me the 4pistons werent toyota brakes, but toyota pads are a direct replacement for the ones in their kit. Overall wouldnt go back to them, that 4 piston thing was insulting.
  6. "always garaged and female owned." Exactly what I was looking for
  7. I dont think anyones going to buy it for 11k on craigslist. Sounds like the guy doesnt do his own mechanical work, doing the struts three years apart front vs. rear.
  8. 240sxs are a good one. There are plenty out there and they are currently going for way more than kelly blue book prices. People that dont race at all are selling their commuter 240sx cars with captions like: "great for an SR, awesome car for a drift project" its just ugly. If you have the ability to set up a paint booth at home, basket case cars still go cheap and clean cars are going for 3-4k+ depending on mileage. My buddy sold his with check engine lights, a lot of drift induced bumper and fender rash, getting like 10-12mpg running rich as heck, with a stripped interior and bone stock engine and suspension for like 2500.00, he paid 400.00 for the car out the auction... People use to give these cars away, I wish I was in the market for another one back then.. dangit. Even worse are the ae86 toyotas, they go for big bucks when they dont even run!!! These are GOLD to the toyota drift crowd, the hatchback version sells FAST..
  9. I stopped shopping there when they tried to tell me that the solid rotor 4 piston bolt on kit was NOT a toyota caliper set....
  10. at least the towing vehicle and the z are the same color though.
  11. At the last ZCCA show in LA there were three or four zx's with RB conversions there, and they all had s13-r32 type subframes installed with five lugs and huge brakes. It looked pretty stock. Skylines use a clutch type lsd and are commonly swapped into s13-14 as an alternative to a kaaz or other 2way type lsd unit. Lots of work in a s30, doesnt seem to be as bad in a s130, as some of the rear subframe conversions i was checking out used flares in the rear to eliminate any cutting or custom cv axles. Makes me want to pickup another s13 to try that skyline rear subframe swap. There are also steel inserts online that go over the rubber bushings of the rear subframe that really stiffen the rear of the s13-14 z32 r32---etc (all of them use the four point mount rear subframe and the same bushing). Basically goes in like four mustache bar bushings.
  12. My buddy ran that sintered iron clutch with no springs on a 240sx, same brand. Not as bad as I thought it would be, little too stiff for me but youll probably love it. One thing that bugs me about that clutch is the chatter, theres a lot of it unless you get right off the clutch when moving from a stop, which can take some time to get used to.
  13. sounds like you want a 70-78 body.
  14. Man, you really like to do things the HARD way. I usually only do the motor and trans removal from underneath on fwd.
  15. aww, no photos. ecoli for everyone...
  16. theres a 4.10 gearset out there for r230 I believe richmond makes it.
  17. Yeah, the pricing sucks if you have to ship the trans out. The place that does this is three miles from my house so its way cheaper. Its getting scary over here, z cars are appearing in the junkyard with transmissions from a previous junkyard purchase, they are starting to get a little scarce....
  18. with mods people use the sx transmission, which is at least as strong as any L series trans.
  19. he wouldnt need a witness or a partial photo if all he needed to do was use the transponder. and he wouldnt need the transponder if he had a witness or a partial photo....
  20. He either already has the guy that stole his computer pinpointed, or he is putting together an elaborate scare tactic to get the person to confess....
  21. I would check to see if the injectors are working correctly. A fpr wont have much to do with it unless its not holding fuel pressure level.
