  1. double din radio or a TV. more guages, whats left?
  2. theres only like 8-10 bolts holding both of them on there, and they are pretty easy to get to. i had to pull the distributor to get good access to the bolt closest to front of car, but both manifolds came off pretty quick. I left the turbo bolted to the downpipe, but took it off the manifold pretty easy, to line it back up when I put it back together I had to use a small jack to get the turbo lined up. Not hard.
  3. carbon fiber everywhere. Hook up your shift light so that every light in the dash goes off with the shift light. I wish someone would make a 5" boost guage/tach combo deal, or just a 5" boost guage, whats a speedo anyway?
  4. After the wastegates, try this other crazy device, its called an Intercooler.. Your car rules.
  5. I like seeing an RB25 with carbs.
  6. On3go has 17x11 in the back of his green car with zgs. Ive seen 9.5 with stock rear suspension, I believe on3go has coilovers and slim springs.
  7. 75-8 efi looks pretty easy to retrofit into earlier zcar. I had to pull the harness out of mine to figure out what was going on with it, and in the process figured out how it works. one wire to (-) post for injector pulses and tach, hook up the water temp sensor correctly and run some grounds, the other parts of the harness that need power are part of the battery harness and one ACC power source, the ecu uses a two in one relay to control the fuel pump and turn on efi, and thats about it, if all the other sensors and parts are in good working order. Pretty simple. Easier than turbo conversion, and turbo conversion is easy. 75-6 tank bolts straight into early zcars, on a 70-71 you need the mounting strap from the 75-6, on 72-74 it will bolt straight in with the original moutning strap. I would do this before making surge tank just because its pretty simple and these tanks are not hard to find in Norcal. I kinda like SU carbs for a simple NA motor, easy to work with and they have been pretty reliable to me in my experiences with them.
  8. could be done, but probably just as expensive as a cv conversion.
  9. Wow, never heard of a cop being able to recognize an intercooler and stop someone for it. Thats crazy. If you do 280z you would be stuck with the 75, since that is the only year that the smog nazis let slide. Lucky for me, I got another one.
  10. Well, the l28et is easier to do thats for sure.
  11. Dont do doughnuts in front of the police with the door open and your arm and left leg out the window with Lil Jon on full blast, and you should be ok. Smog? whats that?
  12. if its clean enough, dude could get close to 2300.00 for it without the turbo
  13. Definitely too much work. He posted saying 5k for the head alone.
  14. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99536 too late.
  15. what Ross calls a "ypical 4x4 conversion"will not bolt onto stock rotors His kit is setup to work with the vented 300zx rotor and all his parts are pretty much top notch If you want a 4 piston brake with stock rotors you want 79-85 toyota calipers, which specific model of truck I forgot. I did this conversion four years ago with metal master brake pads, and I had no trouble stopping on the street. The vented setup works better with repeated stopping.
  16. car looks too nice, i couldnt drive something like that anywhere, hope they get what they were looking to get...
  17. The work that the poor guy spots out in the link is just disgusting, coming from a guy that likes zipties himself. 22 months 7k.. yikes. Work like this is what made me learn to fix things myself. Stuff like this reminds me of how hard it is to be a sucessful tuner, although these guys seem to really suck. http://www.matthews210turboconversion.com/
  18. The OD may be different but the internals do interchange without modification. I never heard of any s13/14 running anything taller than 4.08 though.
  19. The ka trans is the same as an sr20det trans, gear ratio and all I believe, the internals are interchangible. Ive seen them take 350hp to the ground and hold up to all kinds of hard driving with a multi disk clutch, t51r hks turbo, jun head/ecu, and tons of boost. Ive seen them take clutch kicks/dumps/downshifts to no end and laugh at it. A good friend of mine has blown two KA motors drifting, blown two clutches into powder and has used the same trans behind both engines, and will be used for his third engine, as it makes no noises and shifts great. Crossmission gears from os giken and some other jdm to alter gearing, buddy uses these on sr20 car to be able to stay in second and modulate power better when drifting. NOW whose gonna go the extra mile, and convert the HKS sequential 6speed to a z bellhousing?
