  1. yeah that stuff is cool, im getting a profec b or the apexi with the tv screen i have to have at least one riceboy gadget. and i have to have scramble boost, no if ands or buts and no maybes. if i get the tv screen apexi, im putting it where the speedo used to be, sucker hasnt worked in two years.
  2. 5k is easy if you look at this way. get an iroc or firebird, preferably a 350/700r4 or a 305/t5, they can be had for 1000 maybe more maybe less, just try to find one that runs ok and looks horrible-not hard. yank off all the tpi associated hardware and sell it on ebay, my buddy got 200 last week for just the upper and lower manifold with tb and injectors. the whole setup with ecu and relays ive sold on ebay for 500 and change. sell all the body parts of the car that you can, ttops, glove box, whatever, and you will have most or all of that money back, and have a drivetrain, and the driveshaft for the conversion. get the jtr kit, its less than 300.00 after youve sold all the iroc stuff. then get you a nice four barrell carb, headers, vacum advance hei dist, electric fuel pump, aluminum intake, and other stuff to get the car running. also get the adaptor for the diff side of the driveshaft, and measure out how much would need to be cutt of that iroc driveshaft, which is frekin huge. plop the whole mess into the zcar, bolt it down, wire it up, tune it, and let loose, if youre really gung ho, make the tpi work, true it sucks for high end, but so does the engine it came on. the 350 is good for about 245 flywheel, and the 305 is 180 at the flywheel. not hp motors, torque motors. youre stock L motor puts down about 110 if its lucky. if i was going to do another one, i would build a cruiser like this with the tpi and a 700r4, or the t5 if i could find a 305/t5-those are pretty rare around here and the people that have them love them-mullet and all. i would get a roller cam year though, forget which ones that was. you would have a engine that loves 87 octane and wot, and kick a lot of butt on the street with it as well. yes, i know the hp figures are low, what else could you do with a 5k max?

  4. ive also heard of people boring the crap out of that wastegate hole and welding a washer the right size on the swing valve.
  5. im thinking you have to port the wastegate hole, profec b is supposed to be really good at keeping the boost in check, but it cant if its limited to wastegate hole like it sounds like.. didnt know you ran profec b, im actually trying to pick one of those up it would be my first ricer gadget box. do you have the one that learns the boost curve? im trying to pick one up from a friend soon, please let me know how you like it, or dont like.
  6. so you dig that ic or what? im really happy with mine, i think it will take anything the t3 has for it. having clutch issues too, but im sticking with the coupe flywheel, and probably a nice act unit thats rated too high for what i expect to put out. had a brand new clutch in mine and im experiencing the same thing, slip in third, i guess load is pretty big in the top end. oh well.

  8. do it. you may not have overdrive, but you will have a stick tranny that will take it and put the power down, also, the 327 is invincible!!!

  11. did you build the motor yourself? maybe it has a gear drive, which would sound like a blower which sounds like what you said. you said it revs fine and has oil pressure, so i already ruled out in advance spun bearing. water pump pulleys out of alignment
  12. arent they the same thing as the 300zx turbo motors of the same years i say do it, it would be a nice setup, since the L is probably too long for that little car.

  16. anyone have a sound clip /video of an open wg dumping car? i just heard they shoot a little flame out the tail pipe, want mine to come out right behind the front drivers side tire.
  17. call me a ricer all you want if it means i run a loud bov and a seperate wastegate dump, cause that how its gettin done. i dont even consider my car to really be turbo since it doesnt have either one yet, im getting closer though, i have an intercooler that you can see from the front
  18. get the 1200.00 gm crate motor, and run a ton of nitrous on it with a built 700r4, youll be close. im thinking 5k and some change could go to a rough v8 swap, or a cool one depending on how resourceful you are. 5k is only if you all the parts you add are in go fast, not including mounts, driveshaft, rear end, halfshafts, various nuts and bolts, radiator, fans, guages, this that blah blah blah. it costs to be the boss.

  20. i wish i would have kept the air regulator, i was going so quick with the swap i pulled everything off that didnt push air, fuel, or boost. my car doesnt like to start in the cold, and i have to hold down the gas a little bit right on startup, but the guy will start quick, just takes a minute, oh well. have a spare intake im gonna mod up and install soon, cutting off the egr and stuff like that, maybe wire back in that regulator.
  21. how does that act feel, i mean street driving, hope not real stiff, drive too much and encounter stop and go sometimes, dont want a real stiff clutch, but ah yes, i should of thought of that before this whole turbo thing.....oh well
