Tuning on the road without a wideband is like playing basketball with a pitch black blindfold on. A narrowband sensor is like doing the same thing but with someone describing to you what the hoop looks like.

Listen guys...for all the experimentation I have done, and it was alot, I found that the car ran better with NO accel effects than poor ones. Try turning them off by raising the threshold really high. Then bring them in with very low numbers until it feels right. I run full MAP accel. 100%MAP 0%TPS. I posted my numbers in the msq sticky. Try them.

I would definitely get one that didn't leak oil and had no shaft play personally! J/K Start with the factory turbo and then if that's not enough, go bigger on the compressor side first. Or just go read all the posts about turbo upgrades, the stickies, and a book about turbos.

Don't forget the BFW too. W stands for wallet.

What are you using for electronics? Stock EFI? If so, with the 300 injectors, you definitely need to adjust that AFM wheel leaner. Set the AFM leaner by tightening the spring, get it to idle and rev well with about 35-40psi fuel. You might get a really rich spot around 4000-4500 rpms under load but with the factory FI, that's the deal. You might want to consider and FMU or a standalone EFI system. PS: My FMU is for sale.

I bought it assembled...I am no electronics pro and my time was better spent reading the manual.

It's not as hard as it sounds. Setup a ground rail, and a hot rail. Connect all the grounds to the ground rail with a nice heavy ground to the battery and the same for the hot rail. Then you need two relays. Only one(main) of them ties into the key switch. The other (fuel pump relay) is all controlled by MS. The MS harness is very clearly labled and color coded. It all comes down to good wiring habits and understanding what you are doing. Tuning is easy once the car is running. Getting the car running was easy because my wiring was correct. All the "things" are turned on and off by the two relays. You just wire them back to whatever relay you want to use to turn them on and off. Put fuses in each line. Dont forget to setup the board to match your intended use (jumper wires and such). DIYAutotune and their site can help you. You need to setup the tuning software, Megatune, to match the hardware/firmware you are using. It's all pretty easy but I will admit it was overwhelming coming into it.

I got a small bag of coal, some burgers, chips and some soda. Everyone bring stuff for yourselves + a little extra and there will be plenty to go around. Bring a folding chair, burger flipper, some paper plates and cups. Around 4pm we can decide what to do next based on everyones schedule. I think we should cruise the back country roads around Putnam because they are some of the best in the Northeast. We can do a one hour loop + or - and end up back in the Park by 5 or 6pm. Afterwards we can split up into groups based on the time we have left and choose other stuff to do. Fireworks, West Point, Car Shows, Take a few more joy rides, Drool over BARACU'S convertible.... I cant wait!

Valvoline RACE OIL, or Certain Amsoil use zinc in decent quantities. I saved my EGR valve and pipe. Easy bolt on mods!

Cigarette Lighter....been using that one for at least 15 years. I can reaveal that trick now because I have moved on to better things. The lighter was great though. Right next to the key. Push it in and turn the key. Just make sure you short the heating coil by ripping it out and driving in a sheetmetal screw. When I go to car shows, I expect people to look around and under the car. Out on the street, you can usually tell if it's malicious or not if you see it happen. What ticks me off is when people lean on the car, scratch it, and drip ice cream on the fenders. All of this has happened to my car at local shows.

I have a small fire extinguisher strapped down in the back by one of the factory luggage straps. I am going to make a steel bracket and mount it down near the floor behind one of the seats based on this thread.
