  1. You should see what John Coffey thinks...oh.
  2. Haha...I drive hard, I just try to avoid driving hard into anything else.

    Seat Experiance

Hey Evan, are you coming to the next event?? I'm definitely planning on going, assuming my brakes are fixed by then (working on it next weekend.) You can see for yourself how comfortable the DAD seats are. I was surprised at how nice they are for longer distances, although nothing beats the repadded/leather stock seats in my 76. Those things are amazing. As far as belts, I think it depends on how you mount them. Mine are mounted where the stock belts were mounted, and I'm not going anywhere with the car upside down...but I agree, if I wreck the car I might as well go out with it...I don't think I could deal with living through that.
  4. I am generally happy when things I own go up in value.

Yeah, I'm nobody's BRIDE! If you have the S13 seats with the harness hole, I would pay to have them repadded and reupholstered, maybe in leather. I love those seats.
  6. Haha me too. I can't help but root for the guy who's battling the odds. I'm not saying it's ever a good idea but there's a part of me that wants to see them escape. I did like how the announcer says "it was clear he was trying to get away at any cost no matter who he put in danger" when it was clear the cops were just as willing to put all those people in the same danger by chasing him.

I have DAD seats. They're not certified, so keep it in mind. On the upside I was able to drill out the stock brackets and use them on the passenger side, and on the driver's side I was able to use them with the addition of some flat bar stock. I think they put you in about the same position as stock seats heightwise...I don't know about legroom, though. The reason I got the DAD seats is because finding anything that would fit was so difficult. These barely make it, they still touch the door when it's closed, but not enough to make them harder to close. So many of the racing style seats are just too wide.
  8. It's a free market, yes. But there's reasonable lowballs and then there's insulting. If your car is running decently well, you could probably get more than he was offering by parting it out. Do you have any pics online? I know some people who aren't too far away from northern GA.
  9. I think I'm under 5k...for this year.
  10. Yes, please keep taping. I don't just use them to motivate myself, I drag other people to the computer and get them all worked up. Anyway, it looks you already have the subframe mounted in 19 and you're adding it in 20? Did it have to be redone?
  11. Awesome as always mull. I'm a little confused though, it looks like part 2 is sequentially before part 1?
  12. Hey Pete, sorry to hear that - loved your car. Have you ever considered using a J&S? I've talked to some guys that road race vettes, and they set their timing so they always get a little knock and let the J&S pull by 1 or 2 degrees constantly so that they are always on the bleeding edge. http://www.jandssafeguard.com/ They're pretty cool and J&S has excellent customer service. Might be worth a shot (on top of the obvious options for lowering intake temps.)
  13. Brian, you should loan them your 73 in return for getting invoice on a new one...why not use it as your daily? The new GT-R is the first new car I've ever actually wanted to buy, and I don't think it's overpriced at all.
  14. It's not JDM? I guess the people who weren't being sarcastic will have to answer that for you. I'm going to use it. Joel didn't have any problems snapping Z31 CVs like twigs when he was using one on his TWM 6TB setup.
  15. Yes, if you find a cartech manifold, just throw it away like the garbage it is. I'll let you use my trashcan, even. In fact, I'll pay for shipping so I can personally "take care of it" for you, we don't want to run any risk junk like that might make it onto a Z.
  16. I doubt the problem is with your rack - the column lock makes the most sense. I would at least inspect everything before throwing that much money around.
  17. Because the person who looked at the ad is looking at the canadian ebay site. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1978-Datsun-280Z-Automatic_W0QQitemZ140185362772QQihZ004QQcategoryZ6187QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Same listing, no rate conversion.
  18. Click on the second link man. They have exactly what you want.
  19. Holy F. http://www.akihabaranews.com/en/review-86-Akihabara+News+Tests+Initial+D+Arcade+Stage+4+Limited%2C+the+Ultimate+car+simulator+at+Sega+Joypolis.html I wish they'd had this at the Sega center when I was there. It looks AMAZING. They're tilting the entire car to simulate G force, like the force dymanics guys (who built that rally car simulator) did. http://www.force-dynamics.com/content/video.php I finally have a really good reason to try and get ridiculously wealthy. Alternate link for the first video:
  20. That's at least 50$ more than they're going for around here. I don't like the gun, but then again I don't like shooting polymer framed guns period. On the upside, everyone I know who has picked one up has said they haven't had any real issues with failure to feed or extract.
  21. Be careful, dude. I almost got hit last night and there was nothing I could have done about it. Cellphones.
  22. I would like the hydraulic handbrake option, but not as a parking brake - just so I can still use my handbrake on hills. Wilwood specifically says not to use a linelock system as a parking brake, because the constant pressure over long periods of time will deform the seal.
  23. Least surprising post I have ever seen. When I'm independently wealthy I'm going to hunt scammers down for fun.
  24. Yes, 600HP...at first. And he didn't total his Z31, he sold it at a loss to get the S30. And it's nothing like Initial D at all, except that both of them involve cars.
