  1. Tom Mabe rules. I have one of his CDs. A lot of the calls are just as good as that.
  2. Is that a ADR venom 17x7 wheel in the 3rd pic? If so, ask him how much he wants for it.
  3. Valvoline racing oil has something like twice the normal % of ZDDP in it, I bought a couple of cases of their synthetic stuff at NAPA. It's only a few cents more expensive than Royal Purple synthetic.
  4. Looks like someone's project...I love it. http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=TVTsj2rBRI4 (Sorry if it's been posted already, couldn't find it in a search.)
  5. I have 2 in the garage and one in the car. Absolute necessity. The first time I had to use it I was blown away at how fast they put out fire. It's like a magic trick.

Wait, what was melted? The oil return line from the turbo?
  7. A billion thumbs down. (I really like those wheels with normal center caps, BTW.)
  8. Scambaiting can be dangerous. Safest thing is to ignore it.
  9. Oh man, that's hilarious. Almost makes up for having a bug.
  10. Ok, first, buy yourself an FSM. Seriously. 77 manuals are easy to get on ebay (in comparison with other years), I have 4 of them and I don't even have a 77 any more. Here's one up for 5$ right now with 0 bids: (not my auction) http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1977-Datsun-280z-service-manual_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34229QQihZ011QQitemZ320149176959QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW The FP/EFI relay (a double relay) is under the dash near the steering column. It's not that hard to find because it's the only double relay down there. But if you had an FSM you'd see exactly where it was immediately, they have a nice cutaway diagram showing it. In 78 they went to 2 seperate relays. 75-77 is a single double relay unit, which sucks because MSA wants like 100$ for a new one and they're NLA from Nissan.
  11. Tear up the carpets and get underneath it, and use a magnet to check for bondo. Did you do a compression test? If the body is nearly perfect and the engine is in good shape, it'd be worth 5500 to me, but I'd go over it with a finetooth comb before spending that much. Yes, the 87-89 300zxt diff swap is bolt on with stock halfshafts if the R200 conversion is already done.
  12. I don't know how much is cheap, but yes, I would strip off anything salvagable, and find a new body. Even starting from a "rust-free" body, it takes a lot of time and work to strip down and restore a Z. Starting from that could be a disaster depending on your situation, experience, and free time. Good luck either way!
  13. Awesome, that sounds like a great commercial. I've been saying they need to do something along those lines since 2003. You shoulda told them "terrorism" when they asked why you were taking pictures, though.
  14. I emailed those guys pics of Z's in movies twice, exactly according to their instructions, and they never added them. So I gave up on them.
  15. Wow, scary. That could have been any of several people I know. I'm going out to remove anything loose that's in the back of my hatch.
  16. That'd be funny if they used the movie car as a model for the art, since it was a 280Z with 240 bumpers.
  17. Jon, maybe you can clear something up about the rules. Do you get anything for winning those 3 races if you eventually lose? It seems like the first winner gets screwed over pretty hard if the person who just randomly happens to be chosen last can win one competition and take everything home. And what kind of penalty were you talking about with losing lights on the tree? Kathy, no offense, but you seem really naive (and childish.) This show (as well as PINKS) combines gambling with drag racing. Bluffing and negotiating are just as important as car maintenance. I guess you've never played poker? Better luck next time.
  18. Only if people don't piss off the guy who was nice enough to sub it last time. He released a subbed version less than 1 day after he got the raw, working all by himself, and someone STILL had the nerve to say "could you please release faster?" Stupid kiddies ruin everything.
  19. Jon, I think you did a great job and deserved the win. It's awesome to see your Z out there tearing it up. Unfortunately, I don't think this show will last. It was painful to watch those hosts "mediate" negotiations, they seem like zombies. On top of that, the editing and production are pretty poor and the show just seemed to drag on. If you weren't on, I would have turned it off in 2 seconds, even though this is exactly the type of show I'd normally want to watch. I never thought I'd be saying good things about Pinks, but I guess having a hyperactive idiot who knows nothing about cars hosting actually helps. Maybe his real purpose is comic relief? Anyway, I hope you won, and I hope they improve the show quickly.
  20. If you wanted a project car, I think you got a steal. Good luck!

    Whoa

Hey guys, I'm out. Please do me a favor: email Marcus - cooprdog@aol.com - and tell him what you thought. Even if you have criticism, I'm sure he'll appreciate hearing from you. He is a hardcore Z guy - notice all the Z pics (some from Hybridz) on his bedroom wall in the movie (he is the guy with the dreads) and of course the yellow car is his. Thanks! -Forrest
