  1. Passed 16x8 you are kinda on your own.Take some measurements and figure out the backspacing. You may find this calculator very helpful. http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp What I would also suggest, depending on the state of your car. Mock up a cardboard wheel in the size you want and fit it without springs in place. Then you can test the full range of motion for interference. You also didnt share which chassis you are working with.
  2. You can adjust the range on the sender itself. Pull it out again and you will notice that the wiper is attached with a small set screw. Undo the screw and tweak the armature on the rod until satisfied. You can see the screw here: http://zparts.com/zp2wp/wp-content/uploads/2016/03/25060-E4100_9202_1ks.jpg
  3. Well we know there is demand for those cranks. If they are a good price i would grab them and wait for the right buyer.
  4. You are correct that post charge cooler (the correct, but unused, term btw) the air will be denser. But I like math so lets set an example: Pre cooler @ 0.8bar (11.5psi) @ 76% Efficiency and 1L of compressed air you have 0.059 Moles of air at 95c Now if you cool that same mass of air through the charge cooler @70% Efficiency and 0.5psi pressure drop the air will be 43c and use a volume of 0.88L. So post cooler the air is 88% the volume it was at the start. A 2in pipe has a cross section area of 3.1in^2 A 2.5in pipe has a cross section area of 4.9in^2 (156% Bigger) A 3in pipe has a cross section area of 7.1in^2 (225% Bigger!) So you can see the actual volume of air isnt changing as much as you think. Unless you are boosting stupid levels 100psi+ like Diesel guys. Also in the real world is much easier just to stick with the same size pipe. Plus you also have to deal with a set size on the Throttle body and turbo outlet. Anyway. Don't just listen to this armchair engineer keep on googling. The world is full of different answers.
  5. Incase anyone was curious i emailed them.
  6. So has anyone requested a quote yet? An LD28 crank goes for what? $1200 these days?
  7. Has anyone done any per cylinder egt analysis? I am setting up a megasquirt 3x on my N47/N47 L28. After reading the head cooling thread i would like to pull a little bit of timing from 5 and 6. But 1 degree, 5 degrees? Just curious if anyone looked into this.
  8. What the use? If you are going drag then for sure you are going to need an upgrade to R-230 or similar. If this is just a fun car with no launching then you could probably get by with stock R-200. Upgrade the axels if you want. +4% hp too.
  9. Measure the frame rails front and back then just set springs from that. Extra low is your choice but the BC extra low kit is REALLY low from what ive heard. There is a whole thread somewhere.
  10. Fan relay dying isn't really something to be super worried about. Standard Automotive relays have a mechanical endurance of about 1x10^6 cycles and a electrical endurance of about 1x10^5 cycles. If you want to be a little more safe you could setup the relay "always on" so your switch pulls it off. Then if the switch or its supply dies, the fan will kick on. In an emergency situation you can always hot wire the fan on and drive home. But seriously. Wire it up nicely (good solder, heat shrink) and dont worry.
  11. Best practice is to always ground your sensors nearest or directly to the microcontroller. You are working with small voltages that are easily upset by big stuff like the ignition system. That being said if the ecu is on the same ground it will probably be fine. If you feel like being overkill you could scope out the noise on the sensor right now and then again with the new wiring setup.
  12. You know we have R34 Skylines now? I could register it and "Lease" it to you Here is my vote for compareable 2 seaters. Classic. Air cooled Porsche or 77 Celica Modded: 1UZ swapped BRZ Modern: BMW M2
  13. Your link is dead. IS this your product?
  14. It took me like 3 seconds on the google machine. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/topic/12906-240z-speedhut-gauge-install/
  15. Well firstly. Does it turn over quickly with the sparks removed/ injectors unplugged? The next thing. Is this a stock hareness? Have you messed with the injector wiring? I dont know how PowerFC works but my logical next step would be to set normal/ase/crank fuelling to 0 and see if the injectors still fire.
  16. Have you tried running a surge tank?
  17. Cressida injectors are high-z no? Do you have an aftermarket ECU to control them?
  18. What Thermostat are you running? You could try to edge some more flow out of it by drilling a few holes in it.
  19. Fairly certain the wheels on the S30 are Lug-centric not Hub Centric. So it doesn't matter they are not snug on the hub. Torque nuts to spec and call it a day.
  20. What do you mean smashed in? Any physical deformation is cause for a rebuild. OR at least pull the head to check for deeper damage. Its very likely you have damage valves/ pistons from inhaling particles or self destruction. Was it really wet from fuel or oil? That might tell you if the pistons rings are toast or if pieces of the carb went flying into it. You can pull the head in the car in an afternoon so get to it!
  21. For those interested this is the promotional video the car was built for: Probably played it 10 times its so cool. And for the super nerds. He messed up the cotter pin in that build video at 3:29
  22. The sensor is just a piezo electric crystal that outputs a small voltage when it "hears" a knock. Hook it up to an analog input on the MS and you can monitor the knock level. MS will pull back ignition timing based on the setting you enter. Look under Ignition setting for TunerStudio.
  23. Not quite. Compared to the 3x, the MS3Pro has better circutry for direct coil ignition. Which really only matters for the VAG (VW) Coils. 3Pro also does not have a map sensor built in so there is another extra piece to buy (or 2 if you want live baro). I'd vote for 3x but the 3pro does look nicer.
  24. Been eyeing this kit. Could you post a video with details on the car? Does the kit just 'stick' together or is there welding required? How do the pipes stay together? I really wish they offered this with a twin tip muffler.
