  1. The real potential problem is uneven air distrubution because of the forward facing throttle body. This is a problem with any FF manifold though. IMO, a custom plenum bolted to the runners would be great though. Not sure what to tell you, it might be okay. You won't be picking up any HP I am sure.
  2. In my experience, if you can see rust on that side it is definitely on the other side too. Can you pull that rear bumper and inspect the area? Maybe you will get off easy and Larry is right.
  3. I would have him fix the external damage and cut the rust out of the body on the inside and fix it. This will keep you from ending up with a warped corner due to heat.
  4. I think he stated several times that it was NOT his company, you need to contact the manufacturer.
  5. Keep in mind though, they could sue anytime during the statute of limitations. My advice is to try to work a deal if your found to be at fault, what happens if 2 years down the road you get a great job then they come knocking at your door with a subpoena? Glad to hear you are okay.
  6. Is your motor basically stock? Just plug the FC in and install that z32 maf and be done. The base maps are perfectly fine. Evan
  7. A/F gauges are great to have if something goes awry and your in the middle of nowhere trying to figure out what is wrong. That said, if you get one.. stick it in the glovebox!
  8. After daily driving an RB car for a few years now I have finally settled on which gauges are crucial for me. Voltage, Boost, Fuel, water temp. A/F would be nice but is not really needed because when I am out raising hell my laptop is logging it. I would consider buying cyberdyne gauges, and taking them apart to relocate the digit display. I did that with my 240sx gauge and my car displays voltage where idiot lights once were. It is very commonly confused as being OEM by non 240sx owners. You could easily fit two gauges in the spot of one when it came to some of them Evan
  9. I would suspect that the flexible flyer zcar might break a glued in windshield. You would also have to redesign the entire mounting area to allow for an area to be glued to. Interesting idea though, I am curious to see what everybody else says.
  10. Might be a bad MAF issue, because if something happened with the wiring you would know immediately. Car would run terrible right off the bat. Evan
  11. Eric you can select a z32 maf in the power FC so no harm in installing it. It will automatically rescale the a/f map so it will run just fine. Yes, your problem you are describing is definitely related to your maf wiring. I had the same issue. Unfortunately, I don't have a stock maf on my car to compare. Evan
  12. I agree, a dead pump will leave you stranded at the least. If I had to do it again either a bosch pump or a denso supra pump would be what I would use. Z32 pump would work, however Ill bet you outgrow it. Sticking your arm in a fuel tank sucks. Evan
  13. I need a 255 in tank, let me know what you want for yours. Please PM me.
  14. Scott, not sure if you already said.. but how thick is this aluminum you are working with? I have found big pieces like that locally but they are usually flexible as all hell.
  15. The reality of the COP setup is that most of us have coils that are the better part of 15 years old. I know the spark is stronger from the LS coils because I was out last night and recorded a WOT pull at afr's in the high 9's with absolutely no misfire. It would have cut out and sputtered badly if I had the stock coils on there. This was before changing plug gap and dwell too. IMO, well worth it. Plus you can get a new coil from the parts store which is a huge plus since I daily drive this car. Evan
  16. Pete, thank you for the clarification. I am using the coils with an Apexi' PowerFC plug and play ECU.. .which for all intensive purposes from the ign. side is a stock RB computer. I do have the ability to change my dwell though.. this is a series 2 m otor and had no external ignitor from the factory so wiring was very simple.
  17. Pete, on the LS1 coils you stated earlier that the max dwell is 5-6ms or so, then later state around 2ms. I wasn't sure which you had determined to be the ideal dwell. Thanks man. Great information. My RB is running these now. Evan
  18. Bob, I know of a guy in IL who may still have a bad cracked head. Let me pass his info along to you via PM. I had to email him via another site so I will get back to you.
  19. I hear ya dude. You gave him more info than I would have bothered to honestly.
  20. Wow that really ties it together man, very nice. Right on par with the rest of that piece of rolling art you have there.
  21. Do you want an original? I have a pretty high end tape deck and could make you a copy that sounds better than the premade tape would.. provided your not just doing this for the case. PM me if it is something that would help. Finding a good quality blank tape could be rough though LOL. Evan
