  1. Cool ride, I was tempted to turn my R60/5 into a cafe' racer but I have decided otherwise.
  2. I don't recommend eliminating any lines, you may find it to be damn near impossible to bleed the air out.. its not too easy to begin with. The only lines I don't run are my lines for my t/b water and turbo water. They are both capped.
  3. Color me jealous, I love those things. Best of luck with the project, you need a build thread! Evan
  4. FYI, I kept the russel push lok hose that I used in my z. Most of that hose has not seen any use in 7 or so years, and is getting pretty stiff. I wouldn't reuse it.. but would obviously keep the ends.
  5. russel push lock hose and the parker stuff i used wont collapse under typical automotive use.. its pretty stout! Evan
  6. I just blew that copper turbo gasket out. Rutland stove cement here I come!
  7. Ed, you could always just get earls or aeroquip line from summit in push loc as well. Evan
  8. I just got some of the blue -10 stuff from ATP turbo to do my power steering return line. Worked great. Just as nice as the aeroquip and earls push lock stuff that I used on my z back in the day. Beats the hell out of trying to assemble braided stuff, let me tell you that. One tip I read online, was to dip the hose end in hot water to soften it before you try to slide the fitting in. Evan
  9. I may not have that exact model then. Never had any issues. I did buy mine used from a guy who bought it used (craigslist) so it may predate the one your talking about. I was able to grab a motor out of the back of an F150 without any trouble. God knows, the quality seems to decline daily as they cut costs on these things. Evan
  10. I have the red torin that grumpy told you not to buy. Its a nice hoist and I would recommend it. Not sure why he would suggest something from harbor frieght over it. Same crap from china. just a different color! I used mine to yank a huge piece of concrete out of the ground at one point as well.
  11. I don't care how wide your tires are when the are practically corded like the ones I see on that car. Thank god he wasn't with a passenger. Evan
  12. Thanks Jon. Porter, I didn't ask your opinion of what I had. Thanks for the setup comments, you can keep the rest of your opinions to yourself. I did my homework and rode in several cars, the flex's are perfect for what I want them for. Evan
  13. Hey guys, I sold my megan coilovers in favor of a used set of Tein flex's. Should be alot nicer on the street. My question is this, I have alot of adjustability as far as the spring preload, and ride height. Does anyone have any tips for setting these things up? Its a peformance oriented street car. 1995 240sx to be exact. It will be lowered, but not driftoro slammed. Thanks! - Evan BTW; I searched google, and found the corner weight method. Is this the only way?
  14. He is talking about adding the lever between the head of the ratchet and the socket, not the handle end.
  15. Re-tinting the glass would be faster IMO if you know how to tint. Odds are you will scratch the tint removing the glass anyway. Evan
  16. Josh, your description and photography of the mullet in its native environment is breathtaking, ever think of working for national geographic? HAHA Hilarious dude. Evan BTW 2002s are badass.
  17. Don't let me discourage you by the way, I would love to see it implemented properly. However, without a full standalone controller I think even gale banks was puking turbos left and right. http://www.turbotalk.org/bb/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=4 Check out that thread, will give you lots more insight.
  18. What I am saying is that it has not been done successfully yet and megasquirt won't control the VGT controller. Let me find you a link that shows whats inside that module, its FULL of things such as wheel speed sensors! Its very complex and not a stepper motor. Evan
  19. What about a bulkhead fitting installed in the rubber line? Just throwing out ideas. IMO, clamps on that side of the turbo are no big deal anyway its not like they can blow off.
  20. What are you using for an intake? I would just get a steel -6/-8 AN fitting and weld it on.
  21. The guy with the DSM was controlling it mechanically through a linkage setup and dsm wastegate arm (assuming we are talking about the same dude). I also know that the variable AR housing will not get large enough to effectively control boost. However, essentially you get a variable AR exhaust housing. You can always rig up and arm and set/forget it where you like the response! I would have done one of these in a heartbeat if I didn't have so much time and money wrapped up in what I have now. Evan
  22. That is not a wastegate, its a variable A/R exhaust housing. A guy rigged one up to work on a DSM. I don't have a link for it. I don't know who Jeffer was talking to because everything I have seen/heard was that a boost controller solenoid would not control it properly. If this is not the case, I would love to know otherwise! Evan
