  1. Careless, best lubricant I have used to date is Kroil. Major penetrating action there. Stuff you mention does sound interesting though! Ill look into it. Evan
  2. Well, Don-Jer is about an hour from here. I guess its just a persons house that a business is run out of. I had gotten a sample of it. It not suede, it does have a nice look. The feel is alot more coarse (as you would expect with a plastic based product). I still like it, and feel that it provides a nice accent. Its not something I would want my entire interior covered in. Evan texis300, let us know what you decide. If I ever need anything flocked I can hand deliver it which is great.
  3. I have no specific input on the head situation, but many will agree that you were not pushing the stock internals at 430rwhp That said, I know for a fact that there is a member or two here who have had RB heads ported. I would love to have a head done, but with my "modest" power goals I can spend money elsewhere. Evan
  4. It appears that those intercooler(s) are meant for a TT setup. IE, you would not want flow out of one i/c and all the way across to another i/c. Seems simpler and cheaper to run a single FMIC, which is what I would do. Evan BTW, a thicker core will not make up for frontal surface area. The back half of the core is not as efficient as the front. Granted, I am making little sense but its covered in "maximum boost".
  5. Maybe you guys can trade bellhousings? He seems to want the z32 bell! Let us know what happens. What kind of HP can you stick into a z32 auto. Evan
  6. Make sure the fluid does not smell "burnt". If its like every other auto I have dealt with, you drop the pan and drain the fluid. The filter is right there, hard to miss. IMO if your bothering to drop the pan to check it, replace the filter and fluid from the pan. Especially if it smells burnt or is dark in color. New tranny fluid is pink/red (not sure if you knew that). Evan
  7. My memory is foggy, but isn't there some sort of vac. activated solenoid that keeps the idle from dropping too fast when letting off the throttle? Evan EDIT; Sorry I was hardly clear there, maybe this device is defective.
  8. I would start gathering 5 speed swap parts. Check your tranny fluid level too.
  9. Snow tires are very confidence inspiring. Glad you were able to grab those from him. Don't look half bad either!
  10. Nice Gabe, very inventive. (is that even a word?) I wish it was warm enough to go wander the pick&pull! Evan
  11. For you guys needing low seats, I had BMW 325ix recaros in my z that gave me MORE headroom then the stock ones did. Evan
  12. Sounds like a poor idea from a structural aspect. I doubt you could get anyone to do it due to liability. Evan
  13. I too am curious about this. Sorry I have no real input but it seems like a realistic setup for an RB with a forward facing manifold as well. Evan
  14. The AAC is a cone shaped disk that seals on a conical seat. It is on a threaded shaft, and the ecu screws it in and out to control your idle speed. Scottymiz does not run an AAC on his car, but does not seem to have problems. He runs haltech I think. I have all this stuff hooked up, its my daily and I want it to run as much like stock as possible at idle. Hope this gives some insight. Evan
  15. I have used the same machine shop since I was 16. They are good people, and do great work. I can walk right into the shop at any time, no matter how many years its been and I get a friendly hello from the staff because they remember me. They are about 2 hours away from here, and 3.5 hours away from my old home and I still used them! I found building a good relationship with them was key. I paid for machine work in cash. They made change from the vending machine haha. Evan
  16. I don't know the trans numbers by heart I know some RBs came with autos. Maybe thats the way to go.
  17. This has been covered Yes, and you can't use a 300zx bellhousing. I am actually going down to the garage shortly to dissasemble my z32 tranny. Evan
  18. Looks like a good plan. If you call my car ricerish again ill slap that german car driving face of yours LOL. I think an E30 would be killer DD. Have fun buddy - Evan
  19. Hey you snuck one in on me, you sneaky guy you LOL. Its possible, but unlikely with your budget. Evan
  20. ^valid point^ I bought my zcar over 10 years ago as a running driving car. The body was pretty good. I paid 1k for it. I would not expect to ressurect a car like that to drive right away. My advice? Spend as much as you can afford and buy the nicest thing you can. You can be assured the fuel tank will be full of rust and funk, and the brakes will be shot. Evan EDIT; If you wanna drive the car while you work on it, buy one thats driveable to start with. It will save you money in the long run.
  21. The real question I have is asking price.... Also, I suspect that yellow paint is hiding more rust. I had a nice red 240 at one point that looked great, but was a basketcase.
