  1. +1 Map sensor going vacuum would pull fuel if the air filter was clogged or collapsing. Since the fuel is still being pumped into the motor because the EFI "senses" it needs it, I'm also going with a restriction in the exhaust. Joe
  2. Pete, Are you running air filters? Joe
  3. Well I just took a look at the clutch master and I think it can be saved. I'll work on it tomorrow. The seats are using the same brackets that are in the yellow car. We'll get them in. Joe
  4. You guys have no idea! This has been one hell of an experience! All kidding aside, I'm having a lot of fun. It's taking a little longer than expected but I think Clive is learning and having fun as well. Now if he would just stop making me explain EVERYTHING we would be ok:lmao::lmao: Joe
  5. Do you really want me to air it out in a public forum? Lets just say I owe you! Joe
  6. Hi Eric, Nice meeting you and your friends on Sunday. I think you've done great work with the car in the short amount of time you've had it. Keep up the good work! Joe
  7. I'm running a TR230 and so far have dyno'd 408 at the wheels. I've been told I can get more power with a 228. It seems these motors really respond well to lots of lift. Duration over 228 doesn't seems to make much difference. Mine is actually a split profile and the exact numbers escape me right now. If anyone is interested, a simple Google search for Thunder Racing TR230 should give you the specs. Joe
  8. Coilovers all around. Springs are 10" 225 lbs in the rear, 8" 200lbs in the front. Sectioned struts with Illumina 5 ways. Front has Ground Control camber plates and bump stop spacers. Rear has ModernMotorsport adj lower control arms. Just your basic setup. Now if Ross would ever answer my question about his Cobra brakes I could finish up the last piece of the track puzzle! Joe
  9. No need to bring a chair Dave. Clive was nice enough to buy a matched set of Corbeau's and neither have been mounted yet! Just grab the other one!
  10. I kinda like it myself. Definitely shows thinking outside the box! No pun intended
  11. I think I'm being pretty calm for the pump in backwards, I can't find the crank angle sensor that is behind the headers at the back of the motor, all of the connectors are connected, alternator wired backwards, and the black/white wire isn't working because the battery cable is loose! and that was just yesterday!! Now when you use the dremel to cut the trans tunnel your really gonna hear some yelling!!
  12. Gary, I did speak with John today and he was going to see which front mount I have by the purchase date, and get back to me. In any event, what we did today was to loosen all of the mounting bolts, including the plate mounting bolts, with the belt installed. When I go to the last bolt on the waterpump, presto! The compressor lined up almost perfectly! Tightened everything back up and it looks pretty good. I'm still going to follow up with John but I feel much better now with how things are sitting. Joe
  13. Nope, it's not you. The holes are definitely NOT lined up. Something else that is strange is the directions refer to each plate as a letter and use the letter location to position the plate. Well none of my plates have letters on them! Joe
  14. Hi David, Seems like we have the same spacer plate against the head. Did you contact JCI about it? If you have any other pictures of what you modified I would greatly appreciate seeing them! Clive, good catch. Tonight the washer gets removed. Joe
  15. Hi guys, Just got around to mounting the AC compressor using the JCI mounting brackets and the alignment is far from accurate. Has anyone else had this problem? I intend to give them a call tomorrow but wondered if anyone else had this issue. Here are a few pictures. Joe
  16. Whoa, Austin, a Z33 6 speed adapter?? I'd be more interested in this than the Z32 trans as I have a spare Z33 trans in the shed. Please keep me posted on this one since I'm not in any rush to start swapping transmissions. (Totally disgusted with the turbo car and it's thirst for transmissions at the moment. All time being spent on the LS1 car ) Joe
  17. Dibs on the white car when Mikie's finished with it! Joe
  18. Nice work, Eric! What year is the car? I'm assuming a 72 or 73 since you didn't mention anything about the forward/rearward diff positioning. Joe
  19. Sorry I don't have a picture. It's the curved metal piece that holds down the carpet and curves over the door weather stripping that runs along the floor. Joe
  20. I am in need of the thresholds that hold down the carpet at the door openings on a 280Z. NOT the brushed aluminum sill plates. If you have them, specifically the drivers side, let me know. Joe
  21. Ignition control unit on the side of the dizzy would be my diagnosis just from what you are describing. Of course you shoulg go through the symptom diag steps in the FSM if you want to be sure. Joe
  22. Can't say for sure if the slave is bad but for sure the master is faulty. Joe
  23. Ryan, I have a new one that I never got around to using. $100 + shipping and it's yours. Joe
