  1. I really didn't know that all of the AC wires from the ECU were sensing signal only. Now that I have figured that out by tracing the wires to the ECU and checking pins with the Camaro FSM, I can see whats going on. Still have to trace that plug that is out by the compressor to see what that is looking for. Now the task at hand is running wires out to the pressure switch and compressor. Also, wire in the AC relay. Looking at the Datsun FSM it seems I can bypass both vacuum mag switches and just have the pressure switch in front of the relay. I'll keep this thread updated once everything is thought out. Joe
  2. Forget the new DD, how about a place to keep what you already have? Only took 4 posts before the wise cracks started coming in. Imagine that?! Congrats Man! Joe
  3. I do. Problem is this car never came with AC. I have added all of the hardware and could probably find a signal to initialize the compressor but I'd like to use the harness as it was designed. Hopefully Speartech can help.
  4. 18's? I thought the census was ......oh nevermind
  5. C'mon guys, someone has to know how to hook up the AC on an LS1 in a 280Z! I'm assuming the "AC Press Sig" and "AC Press GRND" would go to the pressure switch on the drier, correct? The the "AC Comp" under the dash would go to some signal that turns on the compressor but where do I take that from under the dash? If this is correct so far, then the connector under the hood would go to the compressor but the connector doesn't have anywhere on the compressor to plug into. Anyone?? Joe
  6. I suspect you are missing more than just spark. With all of the attempted starting you are doing, if the injectors were indeed firing, the spark plugs should be full of unburned gas. Is that the case? If not, I'm still leaning to the ECU being "off" while cranking. Joe
  7. Gonna have to throw the RX7 in there as well. For me, i was the Z or the RX7. If I remember correctly, both of those were faster than the other 2. Joe
  8. +1 Great game. Even though I like the 4 on 4 in the NHL in overtime, I thought it kinda took something away from the Gold medal game. Could you imagine if it ever went to a shootout?? I'd probably be ripping my post if I was from the Great White North but.......
  9. We beat Marty but couldn't beat Roberto. Tough to say for a Devils fan. Pretty big letdown for such a great game! Congrats to my neighbors to the north. Joe
  10. Okay, so that must be fixed first. You need to find a source that doesn't turn off the ECU while cranking. I'm not familiar with the doc you guys are talking about but it sounds like you are not using the same source as people who have who have running swaps are. Unfortunately, I can't check the source on my car since it is in winter hibernation which is about 20 miles away. Joe
  11. Inferno, What is this shifter from? I need one just like to put my shifter where it needs to be! If you are not using it maybe I can buy it off of you? Otherwise, if you know what it came out of I'll buy a new one. Also, while you are back at school it would be a good time to think about where you are going to get a rear sump pan as the front sump isn't going to work. Time to delete some PM's Joe
  12. How are you cranking if the starter is disconnected? The ECU needs to have power while cranking or the car won't start. No ECU power while cranking means no fuel or spark while cranking so the engine will never start. Joe
  13. Tony you took the words right out of my mouth. +1 Joe
  14. Cable, Did you use a Speartech harness? If so? how did you hook up the AC? I have 3 wires that are labeled "AC" and have no idea where they are supposed to be connected too. There is a 2 wire connector out by the water temp sensor that doesn't connect to the compressor. Is this for the compressor or maybe the pressure switch? I am using a stock dryer that I think has a pressure switch built into it. Thanks for any light you can shed! Joe
  15. Back when Dan, Mike and Pete ruled the show.
  16. I got mine from an old gas station that was closing down. The sink just sits on top of a drum of cleaner. The cleaner does need to be changed out but I don't really know how to go about it. And truthfully, I haven't put much time into finding out. Grump, any idea about how to go about changing out the dirty cleaner tank? It is a great addition to the garage and saves tons of money on spray cleaner. Joe
  17. Quick question. Are you sure your switched power source remains hot when the key is turned to "Start"? Make sure the ECU light stays lit while cranking. Joe
  18. Never satisfied :)

  19. Yes, I am an addict. There, I've said it. Let the healing begin Seriously, I can usually be found out in the garage if I'm not dealing with my son's hockey. Just ask Clive! Joe
  20. Thanks guys. Slowly but surely I have been moving forward from where Dale left off. He gave me a great car to start with and had a lot of things done, all the right way! Since I purchased the car I have; replaced the roof, no more sunroof, installed coilovers, sectioned the struts, camber plates, completed MM 5 lug conversion, installed air dam, installed S2000 seats, changed the dash, changed the interior from brown to black, installed a full exhaust, installed A/C, installed power windows, swapped front bumper for a small bumper 260Z piece, RT diff mount, set of sway bars, roll bar, full weatherstripping set, and finally paint. Guess I have been a little busy, but I'm not finished! Joe
  21. That is unless the LS you are referring to is an LS7! Joe
  22. I'd low ball him. He doesn't want to drive his car anymore, just wants to build them. Something about once you finish building them you just want to move onto the next project. Joe
  23. Yep, officially hijacking Dale's thread here. 6 years after Dale started his LS1 pursuit, and 2 years after he sold the 280 to me, the car is finally painted. I hope he comes back to HybridZ some day to see that I kept my promise Joe
  24. Have you sectioned the struts to lower the car? What inserts are you using? Are you using a large isolator or a short one that resembles the front isolator? Answers to these questions will help answer your question. Joe
