  1. I'm thinking anything under double that and I'd be a happy camper. I'll let you know when I get the bill. Yeah I trust the bodyshop enough to have them do it without knowing what it will cost. Oh and Tony, I'm reroofing to eliminate a 70's sun roof, not because of damage. Joe

  4. I'd tackle the brake upgrade. The car is a lot faster than stock, time to make it stop just as good!
  5. Here is what I think is happening. If you look at Janaka's picture of his FPR, I'm assuming you have a feed from the tank coming in on the left, the return on the bottom, and the right port going to the dead ended fuel rail. If this is the case as it is with Clive's, if the pump were to pull any amount of air, if the bubble were to get past the FPR, the only place it would b dispersed would be through the injectors causing a major stumble. Does that statement make sense? Joe
  6. Clive, We could very easily move your Walbro down to where mine is mounted to see if that has any effect. Won't cost anything and we should see results quite quickly. Joe
  7. Hijacking here a little Clive, to ask a different way. Besides the low fuel / fuel starvation issue, what would cause an extremely hard to start condition when the car is run dry? With Clive's car that has the deadended fuel rail, this is a real problem where as on my cars, (pump -> fuel rail -> fpr -> return to tank) I can run dry and start the car right up after just priming with the key. The way the fpr is plumbed seems to be the only difference. Brrrrrr.........looks cold in that garage! Joe
  8. I'm going to guess a stuck float and NO gas getting through the back carb. If the plugs are dry, give the back bowl a love tap with the handle of a screwdriver. Sometimes it will unstick a stuck float. Joe
  9. To add to what DavyZ said, you can easily pull the LSD out of the 4.11 diff and swap it into the 3.54 diff. I'm sure you will be able to find the exact wright up with a search. Joe
  10. That's the engine crossmember. I was referring to the trans crossmember. I believe all of the engine crossmembers mount the same. Joe
  11. Ok so to completely throw any sort of logic to when the mounting position changed from verticle to horizontal, who has a 73 with vertical bolts?
  12. Pete, Very weird! I've never seen a series II with vertical bolts. Joe
  13. 73 will bolt the same as a 280, horizontal bolts. I think only the Series 1 cars use the vertical mounting bolts. Joe

  18. Hmm, thinking out loud here, maybe some angle iron secured to the upper end of the columns that goes up to the existing ceiling and secured to a single ceiling joist? There are obviously some garages where this would not be advisable but I'm thinking for some it could create some added stability. Joe
  19. Chris, how did the white LED's work behind the green lenses? I'm unsure if I should use the white or green since the lenses are green. Did the bulbes fit ok in the lenses? Joe

  21. Just to throw my .02 into this thread, from reading all the posts it seems you want a V8, save as much weight as you can and move the weight bias back as far as you can. The LS1/T56 combo does 2 out of 3. Aluminum block V8 give you the weight reduction you're looking for with a strong trans. The trans is somewhat heavier but the weight will now be positioned further back. Also, the LS1 in stock form is going to give you a lot of power and the aftermarket seems to be very strong.
