  1. I asked him for the serial number. Joe
  2. Hey Drax, Also, are you having any cooling problems with the stock rad? Joe
  3. Hey Drax, What was the reasoning behind routing your intercooler opposite way? Joe
  4. Tim, Sounds like the ignition switch to me since you are basically using another switch with the remote starter. The remote starter requires the key to be in the on position, correct? Sounds like the start position circuit isn't making contact in the 38 year old switch. Joe
  5. I was standing between the two towers when the second plane hit (looking for the "exit hole" of the first plane but that's a whole other story) so all of this has truly effected the way I think. The first time I had to be on a plane for business after Sept 11th was Jan of 2002. The first thing I did when I got on ther plane was to look around at the other passangers. I didn't do this to try to guess who was a terrorist but to see who was going to help me if there was a problem. I don't think we can afford to sit back and do nothing. Everyone must participate in securing our way of life. There are signs all over the NY city subways that say "If you see something, say something." We all need to be on the same page. I like having 400 channels on TV and going to a Yankees games Joe
  6. Paul, From what I've heard, turn the intake around ( it fits the runners when you turn it around) and use a Windstar trans. The trans is supposed to be the same bolt pattern. Joe
  7. Uh oh. I hate when this happens. Isn't a SBC 13/16" x 16 and a Ford 3/4" x 16? Two answers that I'm interpreting differently. Figures. Help!
  8. Anyone know if the thread size/pitch for the oil filter is a M20 x1.5 or a M22 x 1.5 ? I'm looking to buy a sandwich adapter to mount an oil cooler. Thanks. Joe
  9. Well the good news is I didn't blow anything up. Bad news, I need an oil cooler and possibly a larger radiator. I got the car on the double infield course at Pocono Raceway yesterday. I didn't use slicks but my street Azinias and the car handled pretty well. My real surprise was the power the motor is making. To quote a nice English gentleman that was driving a Z06, "That little yellow car is doing some incredible mph on the back straight!". I'm pretty excited. Anyone have any recommendations on an oil cooler, rad and maybe a baffled oil pan? Oh yeah I forgot to mention. I got a chance to drive my friend Tom's 240. We had just put on a fiberglass hood to save some weight on his car the previous weekend. We had it pinned down. Well, the second time around while going down the back straight I lost the hood! The sucker ripped right off the car and sailed over the wall never to be seen again. Made for a pretty funny pit entrance for all except Tom! Joe
  10. It's going to be a pain in the @ss but it is pretty simple to see if you have a rod lengh issue. What I did was to look at the piston end of both M/C's. Obviously you have to remove them. What I found is that the indent that the rod pushes on in the M/C is much deeper on the 13/15" M/C requiring a longer pushrod. I swapped mine for the ZX rod and still needed to adjust it longer to get a nice pedal. Worth a shot. Joe
  11. Has anyone read the posts?! The pearl paint, V10 Cuda. Some one asks if it's a Camaro? And says the size of the wheels are ugly? Hello!!! There's a Viper motor in a 30 year old car!! We are so lucky not to have the ignorance that some of the other lists have. Joe
  12. Just to keep everyone up to speed and to give more for future searches, Rich at Cruzinperformance was indeed backed up. He wasn't taking anymore work until he caught up with what he already had. I used WitchHunter. Gordon was excellent. From New Jersey to Washington state and back again in five days. Can't ask for much more than that!. Joe
  13. Slow is better than manual. I converted my boat trailer to a car trailer when we upgraded the boat. I use the manual winch on the trailer to pull the car on the trailer when I break things. Even though the boat was 9000 pounds compared to the Z the Z was much more of a pain in the butt to get on the trailer. The car has to be pulled much further and it's isn't floating. Looks like a good find.
  14. If it were authentic I would think it would be sold through Barrett Jackson. Joe
  15. I can actually answer this because I have both! Depending on how good you are at finding the right parts in the junk yard, the V8 car is much cheaper to get a reliable 300 hp. There is no secret to making power with a V8, lots o' cubes. Joe
  16. A while back I remember someone makeing a dif flange and trans yoke that had laser pointers mounted to them to assist with lining things up. Since I have vibration problems on the turbo car and don't have access to any fancy equiptment I can use all the help I can get. I've searched for the post but have turned up nothing. I've read Pete's writeup and understand it but how do I go about taking the measurements? Any help is appreciated. Joe
  17. Good point Scottie. Jersey, bring the car over and we'll hook up my LM-1 to see what's actually happening. Joe
  18. Anyone have a recommendation for a shop that cleans and balances injectors? Preferrably in NJ
  19. How about a nice turbo cam that won't be out of breath at 5 grand? I would think we would get a nice break if we bought 3 of em. Joe
  20. Gotta be the weight. Are both cars running the same wheel tire combo? Joe
  21. In Jersey we have to work on them ourselves. There are only, what, 6 or 7 running early Z cars left in the whole state and I have 3 of them!! J/K but they are few and far between and there really aren't any Z specialty shops around. Joe

  23. Glad to hear it's running again, Jersey. Now you and Nick have to bring it over so you guy's can help me drink all the beer you brought me! Did you find out anymore about "Ed's" car? Joe
  24. This is killing me! Where was everyone when I was out there for shows 2 and 3? I probably met a lot of you guy's and don't even know it. There are about 4 NJ guy's going out there this year but I can't make it this year. Damn, there is no reason for anyone living in Ca not to go. Especially if I made it there two years in a row from Jersey! Joe
