  1. I knew that thing was fast!!! Solid dif mount and an LSD with some Hoosiers. Either you break something or your deep in the 11's. Great job man! Joe
  2. That would be great! We should get Scotty to stop by also. He could stop somewhere on the way for some beer! He has to pass at least one place on the 800+ mile ride. I figure it would be a good test to see if the other pistons hold up Just kidding man! But I do wish you lived closer, we need more Z guy's around here! Len, I'll shoot you a PM when I'm gonna be out in the garage to see if your available. Joe
  3. Okay wise guy's, who's coming over to help me do some tuning? I want to get the yellow one done!!
  4. Hey, I try to take them to the track but I keep breaking them!! Joe
  5. I've been a Yankees fan for the last 39 year. Really didn't have a choice since my dad is a die hard Yankees fan. Let me let all the people who aren't a Yankees fan in on a little secret. WINNING DOESN'T SUCK!!!!! Go Yanks!!
  6. Use the turbine side of a stock T3 and the compressor from the GN turbo as Alex suggested. Joe
  7. I'm with Clifton, if only because of the burning oil. I just blew a FlePro two days ago and it didn't burn any oil and didn't hit water either. Just lost compression. ScottyMizt has a picture of it. Scotty? Joe
  8. Close but I had trouble with getting pads. From my observation this past weekend, all calipers from 79 to 87 toy 4x4's use the same pad regardless if the disks are vented or not. After 89 (88 is a gray area) the 4x4's switched to a larger caliper that required the use of a different pad. After three trips to the autoparts store yesterday, I finally got the pads for my early vented conversion. Joe
  9. I'll be going up tuesday night. My father is coming with me but we are only bringing the yellow car because he doesn't trust himself driving the truck with the trailer attached. Someday when my son is old enough to drive I hope to be able to bring both of them. Joe
  10. Looks like the head bolts are staggered on the MB head. Someone is going to have to pick one up. It just looks too damn close. Joe
  11. Thanks mobythevan. I edited the links so they should work now. Joe
  12. Not quite. This would be the one. http://i4.ebayimg.com/03/i/00/b3/57/b6_1.JPg http://i4.ebayimg.com/03/i/00/b3/62/7a_1.jpg
  13. Has anyone looked at the Mercedes 280CE engine as a head donor for the l28? This is going around on zcar.com. It does look promising. Joe
  14. Yep, that's what I was referring to, 3.9's or 3.54's. Joe
  15. Stony/Brad, Have you guy's ever tried a taller rear gear to keep the engine in the torque curve longer? Joe
  16. Jersey, Brad is using a .2" spacer. http://www.hybridz.org/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?t=26333&highlight= Joe
  17. I get them in California, ship them here, then never use them in the rain or winter! Strictly fair weather only. Joe
  18. 525, Just read one of your previous posts and you said your car is running really rich. I have seen this cause a crop dusting condition on my car! I had a grounding problem on my TEC II that caused the engine to run very rich. I thought I'd poured so much fuel into the motor that I washed the rings. Once I go the richness sourted out, I changed the plugs and oil and no more smoke. It did take a few minutes to burn all the oil in the turbo and exhaust manifold. Joe
  19. Power levels will increase at a specific boost pressure because the charge will be cooler. Cooler charge is more dense. Joe
  20. Hey guy's, why can't you just grab the compressor wheel to keep it from spinning when the oil feed line is disconnected? I don't think this will hurt anything. Joe
  21. Have you checked the obvious like a high oil level and bad PCV valve? The plugs are showing oil contamination, it's not just blowing smoke? If it's blowing smoke and not showing on the plugs you could be passing oil to the exhaust side of the turbo from the center section. Joe
  22. Don't open the hood to show the position or better yet get a driver that doesn't know what Scarab or JTR positioning is. Joe
  23. I think you should change as little as possible besides the position of the engine. I'm only interested in if it would be worth my trouble to move my engine. Joe
  24. Oh yeah, Scotty's car runs really strong. He's working some magic with the AFM. And can you believe he's running those times on Sears Roadhandlers??!! j/k Scotty!
  25. I hear ya man! Are ready for the latest excuse? I built a stroker motor for a friend of mine and it lasted a whole, are ya ready for this? two weeks. Spent three hours last night pulling the motor and tearing it down to find out it was MY FAULT!!! Now I have to scramble to put together another one for him before the convention. Anyone have a spare F54 lying around that is within a two hour drive of me? (only half kidding) Joe
