  2. When will I learn to check with the forum before I make changes? In preparation for some track time I reinstalled my 240 rear bar that has been out since the CV axle conversion. Well you guessed it. First shakedown run ripped both outter boots on the axles I spent last night replacing the axles and removing (again) the rear bar. Joe
  3. I have them in my car for the past week. No ping yet but I've been taking it kinda easy. I have a track day on Saturday so I guess I'll find out then if there is a difference. I used to get pinging at track events after the car heated up. This might not be such a good comparison since the weather is getting a lot cooler in the north east and I've changed the radiatior. Never the less, I'll post the results on Monday. Joe
  4. Since you have both a 3.7 and a 3.9 rear, why don't you just unbolt the LSD from the ring gear in the 3.7 and put it into the 3.9 rear? Joe

  8. Sorry no. The pistons were made to create a 10-1 e31 headed 3 liter or a 8.5-1 P90 headed 3 liter. Diesel crank and 240 length rods are a must. Joe
  9. I did a group buy about a year ago for stroker pistons from Ross. I think we came up with 7 or 8 sets and they came in under $400 for a set. That included rings and locks. If anyone is interested I can look up the specs and try to get another group buy going. I'd even buy another set! Joe

  12. Since you don't mention at what RPM this is happening, there are two things I would do. A compression check and swap out the ignition coil. Joe
  13. Do I have this backwards? I thought if you had a leak in your intercooler plumbing or somewhere along the intake tract, you would go pig rich under boost because the engine isn't getting all the air that the AFM is accounting for. Joe
  14. Anyone have an exploded view of a Z31 CV axle or instructions on how to remove the inner CV from the axle? I can't for the life of me figure this one out. Thanks. Joe
  15. Well I opened my Q45 rear and the ring gear's diameter is the same as 75 280z R200 I have but the teeth are longer creating a bigger contact patch. Stronger, but not an R230. Joe
  16. Does anyone think the ring and carrier from a Q45 rear will swap into a long nose 3.54 R200? Joe
  17. To put this R200/R230 issue to bed, I have a diff from a 97 Q45 that only has 2 bolts at the top holding on the cover. I will open it up and compare the internals with an R200 from a 75 280. Joe
  18. Is the diameter of the shafts different as well as the piece that holds the ball bearings? I am really only concerned with the outer cage as that is the only piece I am thinking of swapping. Am I off base? Joe
  19. before I go ripping both of the halfshafts apart, does anyone know if the inner Q45 cv joint will fit on the turbo z31 half shaft? Joe

  21. Well my turbo motor has the EXACT same bottom end as the one that ken has. We got all of our pieces at the same time and both were assembled at the same time in my garage. I'm also using a TEC II but my injectors are a little larger at 50lbs. I don't have tge super secretive cam but I am using a T04E/t3 hybrid. I guess it's time to put my car on the dyno to see how a turbo motor compares to a supercharged motor! Joe
  22. If you can swing it, 24x32 is what I have. In a pinch I can get both 240's, the 260, the Grand National and the G35 in the garage all at the same time. The Grand National is usually at my grandparents house in their garage but the other four live in my garage. Oh yeah, the wifes Volvo stays outside. It leased! Joe
