  1. Scotty, will the 235's fit on a car without flairs? I'm getting sick and tired of 110+ mph and times in the 13's!!! I've never gotten a 60 under 2 seconds even with a 12.8. Joe
  2. I used rear calipers and rotors from an 83ZXt. Just had to use the left on the right side and right on the left side to get the bleeders on the top of the calipers. Joe
  3. Still sounds like a vacuum leak to me. Try removing the hose that goes to the top of the valve cover and plugging it. I don't mean the valve cover but the hose. You want to stop any air from entering the hose. This test will eliminate the crankcase as a source for a vacuum leak. Ya gotta start somewhere. Joe
  4. Okay, ya got my interest. How did he come up with the figure for a complete head? Complete to me is valves and springs. If this is the case, I'm with ya. Joe
  5. That thing is gonna be sweet!! Does the throttle body clear the hood? Guess you didn't have any trouble with the pan
  6. I really can't remember if it increased or not since I started using it about 14 years ago!! Joe
  7. Hi guy's. The Tilton bolts right in but you will have to use the adjusting rod from your old MC. I think the SRP is $60. Joe
  8. Jersey, On my V8 car I used a Tilton clutch M/C, part number 74-875U. It has a 7/8" bore and will be able to move more fluid. It is still available. Joe
  9. Well it doesn't look like I'm getting the half shafts from that car I would also get the rear calipers and disks, brake master cylinder, and heat shields for the M/C. Also, you can make some money on the turbo wheels on Ebay. Joe
  10. What is everyone doing to keep water out of the frame rails? On the 72 I just got, it had new rails and floors already installed. I jacked up the car from the rear for the first time and water poured out of the front of the new rails! I'm assuming it got in there when I powerwashed the engine compartment and since the rails are only spot welded water got inside. Can I use seam sealer? Joe
  11. Having never owned a ZX, is the diameter of the clutch master cylinder the same for a ZX with a T5 as an early Z? And for that matter, what about the size of the slave cylinder? Joe
  12. Well I added a third Z to the stable. This one is a 72 that I got for free. The original owner was in the process of having the car fully restored and lost her job so the restoration stopped. I got the car totally in pieces but with new floors and frame rails already in place. The resto shop had all of the bolts anf parts labeled and bagged. I put the car back together, replaced the stock wheels and hubcaps with a set of black mesh Rikens and the car looks great!! It is totally unmolested; never in an accident, stock AM/FM radio, stock steel wheels with hubcaps. I was originally just going to part this car out but damn this thing looks good! Good thing I built the garage a little bigger than necessary! Joe
  13. Thanks guy's. You just confirmed that what I have IS NOT a diesel? Anyone have one to sell? Joe
  14. Is there any distinguishing marks (other than measuring the throw) that can identify a stroker crank? Joe
  15. But isn't the C4 only a three speed? Sounds like more custom stuff for ya! But that's nothing new to you
  16. Did you give up on the 200-4R? It only weighs 157lbs. What does the C4 weigh? Joe
  17. Jersey, do you have another intake manifold you could play with? If not, I have one that you could have. I think it's better to have a custom fuel rail and mod the manifold to accept o-ring injectors. This way you have a huge supply of cheaper injectors to choose from. (look on GN boards) I think I had the machine work and custom rail made for about $100. Then you can change to any number of different size injectors when you upgrade the engine management, turbo, or intercooler. Joe

  19. Oh boy. I just read through this thread and saw Joel's post about having a concern with cutting the back of a stock damper to facilitate the installation on a pickup wheel. I'd like to get on the"list" of people who want one of these custom dampers. I don't have A/C but I will need to add a 60-2 wheel. Joel and Tim, how are you going to mount the pickup since the wheel will be on the front of the damper? Joe
  20. Pete took all of the old rails off and made new ones for his car. Joe
  21. Thanks guy's. I'm gonna go for it. Joe
  22. Man I wish I took pictures of my frame when I did the 260. I put 2x3 box tube inside the rocker boxes and used 2" round tube to attach them to the outside of the TC mount. At the rear, I used 1x2 box to create a higher floor behind the seats. None of the original front "frame" is structural any longer. If someone is good with CAD maybe I could try to explain further and we could come up with a kit. Joe
  23. I'd like to know if I'm making a big mistake. I am in the process of building a 3 liter stroker with 8.5-1 compression ratio with a P90 for a turbo motor. I have a N42 block and would like to hear some thoughts on using this block instead of an F54. And yes, it will only be .040 over. Thanks. Joe
