  1. great thread.... but: Gotta ask....
  2. Boy, that thread kinda took off, didnt it? (good forum too, ON3GO = ) Been hanging out there for a while now. Not as homey as this one, but lots of info there, and I still want a Rex, lol.
  3. 11 hours left, up to $1300 now. I wish I was ready for a motor....
  4. Or with a decent camera, stand further back and zoom in, but try to have some good existing light instead of relying so much on the flash... the flash tends to drown out detail.
  5. I might have been that idiotic in my younger days... but no more. I got chills alright, but mostly in realizing how fortunate I was to not have gotten killed, or worse, killed anyone else pulling stunts like that. The coolest thing was the fact that the other car seemed to pull that pony-car pretty good, lol.
  6. WOW... great stuff. I had actually read the article with the two ZX's back in the day, but I think I have a little more appreciation for what it has to say now.... Having owned a few Z's since then.
  7. LMAO! I GOTTA get my family trained.... So far the closest thing to Z related I have gotten was a nissan key chain.
  8. I almost posted in the thread that prompted this several times. I dont think that there was a whole lot there that was all that extreme, right until the end, and there was an argument either way about attitudes.... However, The younger guy in question needs to learn to err on the side of caution and respect. Basically, it comes down to a suggestion my Mom made to me quite often as a kid..... Dont "Sh!*" where you eat. Or dont make big waves when you are in it up to your nose. It is a small step from where that thread was headed to where other communitees live. Also... = ) the point he wont get, and isnt taught much in the real world anymore: Have a little more respect sometimes just because someone is older and more experienced. If you dont walk behind horses, you dont get kicked, regardless of whether or not you think they are "donkeys". I didnt like what happened in that thread, but I also dont want this site to lose its-self. Some of the most extreme, bizarre, crazy stuff I read about is right here, and 99% of it is PG. I could go other places for Stock nissan info, but here I get it all, at the risk of merely being told to search. I can live with that.
  9. K.... not that I am opposed to gratuitus nudity of any kind, but I take my Z's seriously.... any "movie" needs to have more plot developement. Casting was acceptable, but I would imagine a camero or mustang would have been more believable in that clip. I was left with enormous underwhelm-ment.... = ) The Z pulled up in a vaguely threatening manner, then was finished.... it didnt even get a mercy kill ALA general hospital before it was just... gone. That vid wouldnt have been posted here without the Z, and the Z didnt deserve what it got. There had better be a follow-up to rectify this, or at least a note admitting that financial support was withdrawn from the project.....
  10. Oh My God!!! He just killed Thumper!!! (in my best South Park voice)
  11. TwinT LS1 and it does 4.9 0-60, and 12.'s? That was before Dyno and tune, right?
  12. That might be my favorite car body, were I not loyal to my Z's.... I was looking at doing the same thing, then decided to finish my Z first. 13bTT.... Hmmm That would be fun in a Z... do all the reliability fixes... eventually go single turbo.... would be a scary car, literally!

  14. I had the L88 on a SBC 240 back in the day.... didnt notice the slightest difference in temps, but it was handy for knowing when a backfire had resulted in flames under the hood... I didnt like the lessened visibility... dont know that it was enough to be dangerous, but enough to be annoying. My taste in hood venting has been forever changed by several members here, most notably BlueOval....
  15. thanks for the replies, guys.... I must have missed this somehow... might be others closing windows on my machine when I step away.....
  16. I was ( and back in a small prvate corner of my mind still am) considering grabbing an FC or FD RX7..... and one of the sites I still read is RX7clubdotcom.... has its share of people we try to avoid, but not as bad as some of our sister Z sites. There are even a couple of LS1 Rexes there, as well as A GN7 . Good info, good stickies, and some very knowledgeable peeps. If anyone needs a rebuilt rotary engine, search there for Rotary Revolution, great guy, would fit in here were he a Z-type.
  17. Sick, Sick, Sick........ If I ran into you on the road, I would tail you for at least 30 miles, just to get you to pull over, lol. No kidding, that car must be a visual assault in person. I do have a question tho... the radiator shroud, wouldnt that be easier to mount in the bay rather than on the hood? And does that set-up, in your Seat-Of-The-Pants opinion, improve engine bay temps, or even coolant temps? The airdam and radiator open look like a good way to reduce front lift, I really like it! Also, the rear fender bulge, does it start on the door, or immediately aft? I had a Bob Sharp or Jim Cook IMSAA kit on a 240 way back when, but the rear fender applique started after the door, and I always thot it would have improved the body lines if it was on the trailing edge of the door.
  18. I have wondered the same... and have seen some of the kits that give a taller fender to the Z... not too keen on them. I think it would have to take some cues from that pic you just posted, more of a wide body approach, so the tall fender has somewhere to go to as it blends back into the body. Not to score brownie points, but I think you could start with the BlueOval Z and kinda work from there. Also, might be better to try and lower the radiator support and hood profile slightly, so that it isnt just the fender creating the effect, but a combination of lower hood and nose with the taller fenders, which is the impression that silver car gives me.... Perhaps an angled radiator like some of the RX7's do when going with large FMIC's and such.
  19. Sounded like 2 turboed ricers with fart cans..... only not, lol. Never saw ANYONE do a burnout like that one tho.... I did some searching for that video and had come to the conclusion it was just a web/urban legend. Thanks for posting that finally. I am that much closer to having lived a complete life now.
  20. Hey Phantom... Not to hijack this.... can you PM me with pics or links about your torque tube? Its looking like I will be able to get aggressive about my Z modding this winter (not to mention just getting started, finally = ) Qwik... looking good, please post pics!!!! I start looking for a LS1/T56 in a month or so.
  21. Blueoval.... just looked at your documentation pics for the first time, As much as I have loved your forum sig, the pics from the rear of the car really gave me new insight to the overall look of your car. I have been considering a similar look, but was wondering if the airdam and was mandatory, or just your choice. Also, the headlights bezels are sealed? I didnt see other lights, is this race only? Love the work you have put into the car, it is certainly up in the elite ranks in this community.... as if being in this community wasnt elite enough already......
  22. LOL! Nice... I had a 1984 Nissan King and you arent joking about the backs, but it never crossed my mind to swap them. I think your seats ar probably a serious improvement over the stock fronts as well.... I took a couple roadtrips in mine.... got out bent over. Pics would be cool.....
