Everything is being powder coated, of course The orange that is being used is Candy Burnt Orange. In order to get as many effects that the powder can do, (since its sort of a rolling business card) some of the parts have various bases to them. Some polished metal, some metallic silver, some silver vein. The wheel centers are actually Gunmetal. Here is a pic without the sunlight beaming on it.

Like Mike said... the High temp powders are only good for up to about 1000 degrees. Ceramic would be the way to go.

Nice work, my brother has a '70 model that I would like to have....but alas I have too much going on as it is.. 3200 miles is just crazy... Did a little old lady have it ? I rode in his 1600 one day, it was like riding in a go kart I agree about the wheels, they look very good on there.

Car is still at the body shop. Glass is out. All holes are welded up (mirror, trim, etc) All the dents have been smoothed out. Should get some new color soon. Did a little more work on the airdam cutouts, picked up a few more pieces that came around.. I did pickup some wheels that I had been looking for with the correct offset, and they were 15" as opposed to the 14" ZX wheels. Here is a before and after shot. 2 piece Hoshino Impul Pro Mesh.

Damn... Can't these people and others like them not bitch about every little thing... The nearly blind complaining about Mr Magoo, stuttering people and Porky Pig.... the list goes on forever... Most of my complaints are about other people.. Just live life and shut the hell up. It seems the more people I meet, the dumber they get... Just deal with it you bunch of pansies... Sorry /rant off... for now...

Look at the walkaround video... The passenger fender and the gas door looks like it was painted at a different time... color is way off. All this for only $45,000 ?? Where's my wallet with my monopoly money in it.

I know they are not on my Z (they would fit!) but these are a set of 15x6.5 Hoshino Impul Pro Mesh wheels I got to go on the wagon. I did one of them to see what they are going to look like. They are coated in Gunmetal and Clear powder over the polishing (what a pain) with Candy Burnt Orange bolts. (part of the paint scheme) Before..(as I got them) and after..

Bad choice of picture effects...

I always wondered about that.... using a clutch like an A/C compressor uses. I wondered why people said that you can't do that... I remember a thread about the car in Mad Max... where he "turned the supercharger on". People said you couldn't do that. I wondered why not ??

I may have a lead... While talking to the owner of Showtime Restorations (the painter of the 510 wagon project car), a guy that works at a machine shop was in there and we talked about reproducing the wagon gas caps in billet aluminum. He called me yesterday about coating some parts and I was going to inquire about making some metal wagon hatch vents.. I'll ask him what type of parts he can produce..

When I first built my Z back in the '90's I got pulled for anything and everything.. The car is a teal blue and back then it stuck out like a sore thumb. At one point I knew every state trooper in my county from being pulled. Not to mention all the city cops as well. The deputies never harassed me very much but the rest of them it was bad. I got a few tickets, some pulls were ridiculous reasons, sometimes they pulled up in my driveway and check to see if my tag was still valid ??? WTH? I parked it after buying a black '83 ZX for a daily driver and the harassment stopped.

Zinc anodes must do their job well... a lot of waterway locks and steel structures use them in their design... except those anodes are the size of bricks !
