  2. If I'm not mistaken, Cartech made a carb setup like that...
  3. I forgot about the open terminals.... If it was worth the effort, you can get liquid electrical tape and most hardware stores now, you could cover most of it... and it adds protection !! I need to investigate a better interior light also while I'm reworking the wiring..
  4. Honing might clear it up... or might need a bore job. (worse case) Might want to check the rings in that cylinder.
  5. On the festoon bulb, could it be possible to turn it upside down and line the top with foil to allow the light to disperse??? (I can't remember what the inside of the light looks like... just that the original bulb got freakin HOT! )
  6. If they were stainless, they wouldn't rust... You could also powder coat them, clear or colored. There are a few of us on the board that can do this..
  7. How long did it take you guys to get yours once they started making them??? BTW if anyone wants any digital ones to fit the 240-280 I put mine up on ebay.. LINK
  8. Sounds like the CPU is dead... Another option of retaining your information is getting another CPU and hard drive. Install your operating system to that new drive, then connect your old drive to the computer and you'll still have everything that you had intact. There are other options also....
  9. Mine had warped so much, it just came off with a little forcing. Still came off in one piece.
  10. I bought one in '91 that now has bowed and cracked. I took it off last night to be replace (hopefully under warranty)
  11. On that machine that they test it.... they don't put a load on it do they???? I had a stock gear reduction starter crap out one me... less than a minute after I installed it.. and it still tested ok when I took it back. Do you have another one lying around?? I ended up getting a billet one made that works absolutely great.
  12. I emailed them a few days ago... Not making them for the '70-'78... Anywho, I ordered a set from Speedhut last night. I yanked the dash tonight to prep it for the installation... and the many other electrical workings I need to do while I have it out.
  13. You might want to try the gear reduction starter that is stock on the ZX. Unless you have that one already..
  14. I bought a couple that are about 1/2" x 3/4" disc types... bringing them together is not a good idea.. if they snap together without anything between them, they will chip or shatter. If the finger is in between, well.... see the above post I only let that happen once. You can put one in your pocket and a hammer will stick to your side easily.
  15. Almost sounds like a syncho... 1st gear is a little more apt not to want to go in gear at higher speeds, but 5 mph is not much...
  16. If you've got some old dead hard drives, there are two of those magents in there also... Here is a place where I have bought from before... lots of size choices. http://www.wondermagnets.com/cgi-bin/edatcat/WMSstore.pl?user_action=list&category=Magnets_and_Magnetism%3BPermanent_Magnets%3BNeodymium The bigger ones WILL cause severe blood blisters.... trust me...
  17. I'd have to look at it later today...
  18. I believe I got mine from Doug Herbert's... when his shop was in Cherryville. Prices seem to be pretty good.. http://www.dougherbert.com/advanced_search_result.php?osCsid=b76dc5ae42e60bb553a093715beb11f3&keywords=blaster&osCsid=b76dc5ae42e60bb553a093715beb11f3
  19. This one sounds sweet.... http://www.nvbackflow.com/inprogress/EngA1A.mpg I wonder if it would fit on my single cylinder gas RC car
  20. If you are worried about the moisture, get a kerosene type heater.. a torpedo style heater will heat up the garage pretty quick, like the on 240ztt posted... and many of them have a thermostat on the unit. Propane will add moisture to the air. Kerosene will burn dry.
  21. The only problem I see using the UV LED's is the fact that if there is any lint or dust inside the pods, it will stick out like a sore thumb on the clear gauge covers... Have you started the install yet Mike?
  22. Speaking of the vacuum canister... not to hijack the thread.. but if you are running a higher than normal lift cam, wouldn't it be beneficial to have the vacuum canister as a reserve when at idle for the brakes, etc??? or no.. ? even without the vacuum controls ?
