  1. One possible way to get around this is to coat the needles with a fluorescent paint or a phosphorous paint and mount a small UV LED in the gauge pod. The smaller gauges might be a problem though, unless you place the LED flush with the top of the pod, inside.
  2. Back to the original question.... I think back in my days of street racing... it was the '86-'93 Mustangs. The best one was the first one.. an '87 GT that thought he was going to walk all over me.. his tune changed when I hit 4th.
  3. Shouldn't.. also would use less drain on the old wiring. I might have to sell my digital gauges and put in an order. Hmm just remembered... Can't really go with the reverse glow ones...Since our needles are not lighted.. Any thoughts on retro fitting them with a lit needle?
  4. What got me into Z's in the first place was a POS that was many different colors when I was in junior high. I loved the way it sounded though... When I bought my first car.... It was a Z.
  5. Here is to a speedy recovery and thoughts to the rest who didn't fare as well.
  6. Looks like Dodge might revive a model... maybe to make up for that fugly Charger design... http://www.autoweek.com/news.cms?newsId=103629 http://www.allpar.com/cars/dodge/challenger.html
  7. Looks good... BUT... is a project EVER really done?
  8. Very nice pics... Just needs a hood now Looks like the dog is eyeballing your tires though
  9. I haven't seen those in about 10 years... http://www.kaminari.com/products/240_260_280Z.htm
  10. Glad to hear that you have got your "freedom" back... I can't imagine dealing with what you had to. At least you are out and can live a somewhat normal life. I seemed to have missed quite a few threads over the last year. Even this thread..
  11. What are you using for fuel/ignition management?.... or did I miss it..?
  12. Ahh. I see now.. LOL.. must be fate..
  13. Hard to tell in that pic...
  14. I don't quite understand it either...how it works, that is...
  15. Check the connectors.... one under the steering column covers and one under the dash on the pass. side behind and above the fuse box.. look for discolored or melted connections. I am redoing the wiring at the moment and both those locations had started to melt....
  16. Saw that the other day... I bet his neighbors are pissed
  17. Never take it to a shop again... they hardly ever take responsibility for bad occurrances.
  18. Sorta looks like a Opal"ish" retro body... mixed with a little Porsche in the nose. You draw much better that I ever could though
  19. I learned on a '64 Dodge Dart convertible. 3 on the tree. Only real problem I had was trying to do the occasional burnout when I though it was in 1st, but really in 3rd
  20. For working on the Z and the other small to mid size cars I have, I would trust a 2 post unit. Now... If I were to put the Pathfinder on it, I would triple check everything just because of the weight issue. Plus with a 2 post lift, you have better access to the wheels and drivetrain.
  21. Nice post mark, I have been wondering about my diff choices also, and thought about the R230. The only other rear end choice that I have seen was the Gleason-Torsen diff that you can't get anymore for the R200. After reading your post I will probably put in the clutch LSD and CV axles. It would save quite a bit of work. If you did by chance run across a Gleason-Torsen diff, Id pick one up... but they are rare.
  22. Yup, this country is full of ahole lawyers, retarded jury members and jackasses that bring these ridiculous lawsuits to our courts. YOU PEOPLE NEED TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY OF YOUR OWN ACTIONS!!...not blame everyone else for YOUR faults.. I'm sure over the years, of all the things I have been hurt by, I could have sued someone for something. I don't. Just my nature...and yes, I would love to be filthy rich. Just not by screwing someone else to get it..
