  1. I 2nd the car bag. It will keep them out. Or you can line up mouse traps end to end in a circle around the car.
  2. The VG30 is a popular swap into the Datsun 510. Some of the 510 guys have used a modified throttle body intake to accept a Holley 500cfm 2 barrel. Then they use a distributor from a european VG30 motor. Check out http://www.VG30.com This is the website of Experimental Engineering. Dave Carroll is the owner and has been building VG30 swap kits for the 510 for many years. Here is some info from the site that should help you: I found this part under parts for sale. Intake Manifold for Holley 500cfm 2 barrel Carburetor Modify TBI intake for Holley 500cfm 2 barrel .....................$200.00 Modify TBI intake for NOS port-fogger nitrous nozzles ..... $200.00 "We build this intake manifold so you have the option of using a carburetor in your engine conversion. This greatly simplifies the installation and gives a noticeable increase in performance over stock multi-port EFI. Carburetors also have the advantage of being easily and inexpensively tuned if changes are made to the engine at a later time. We build this intake by adding a CNC machined, billet aluminum adapter to a heavily modified TBI pickup truck intake plenum. Additionally we offer porting for NOS’ Port Fogger nitrous oxide injection nozzles for the serious speed freak. We require that you send us a stock TBI intake plenum before we will sell you one of our intakes. These early TBI intakes are too time consuming for us to source so we do not give the option of selling them outright with a core charge." This next info was under "Step by Step install" There are larger pictures on the website. This is one of our custom intakes with a Holley 500cfm two-barrel carburetor installed. The distributor is a "Euro" (actually Saudi Arabian truck) P/N: 22100-V6402 from Nissan Motorsports with a Z31 cap installed. So you really don't have to build a distributor. Just source one of these. I hope this helps. I really like your Rat Rod. Best of luck
  3. Well I started to dream last night. If a kit is made, I plan to find a clean G35 coupe, pull the VQ35 and six speed and install a new Crate motor LS2. Then the VQ35/6speed will go into one of my Datsun 510s. Then I will have to decide which one I want to drive each day. Oh the power of dreams.
  4. Do you think that it is emissions legal? (room for Cats under there?) If so, I want a kit for the G35 coupe. An LS2/T56 G35 would become my new DD. Should I start to dream?
  5. There are plenty of Stock Z cars in better shape then that one. Don''t feel bad about cutting it up. Buy the nicest car you can afford. If you buy that one, you can drive it and make suspension and brake upgrades first and then do a motor swap. That is what I did. I bought a clean 240Z and then made it better. Paid more then $6600 for it in 2003. It was well worth it. Now I have a car that looks sweet, runs with vettes, porsches and vipers and puts a huge smile on my face every time I drive it. BUILD YOUR DREAM! Life is too short!
  6. So I just go the pics I ordered from Steve. They look fantastic. I had him remove the numbers off the car and remove the seam in the concrete. I really like the real water reflection compared to the photoshop one he was offering. What do you think?
  7. It had one bid so I guess it sold. What a deal!
  8. Isn't the Rotella a diesel oil? I have a friend that owns a diesel tow truck and that is all he will use in it.
  9. Warning: LOTS OF PICTURES. Don't click unless you have a few minutes for your CPU to catch up. But WOW. http://www.twinturbo.net/net/viewmsg.aspx?forum=general&msg_id=2079707 Enjoy!
  10. Exactly. I did the cheapo route when I bought a used T-56 off eBay that was supposed to be good. I paid $1100 for it and had to buy the clutch assy. From day one it would jump out of 3rd gear, it would whine in 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear and it was super hard to downshift into 2nd. I recently replaced it with a rebuilt unit from Rockland Standard Gear in NY. They replace all the know weak parts with the right stuff. They sell it for $1800 plus a $750 core charge. I ended up selling my old one on eBay for $900 in as-is condition. I got a complete stock Corvette Z06 clutch assembly including clutch, PP, T.O Bearing, Pilot Bearing and new flywheel for $320. No it was not cheap but it finally feels good to drive. I don't have to keep my hand on the shifter when it is in 3rd anymore. Sure makes track days easier. As for your question about which vehicles to get them from, all the 6 speed F bodies with the LS1 motor from 1998-2002 should be fine. The earlier F body 6 speeds had a different bell hosuing.
  11. Nice Video Clive. Cool donuts. You will soon need a new clutch to go with your new tires. D'oh!
  12. Come on Clive. You know you want it. Take a ride to Michigan and gto get it.
  13. I agree. You need to move them out some. Too close will make it unstable.
  14. I sold the car to this guy in 2004. It was owned by a friend of mine and it had sat in his garage for many years. It was solid but needed restoration. The new owner owns a Nissan Dealership in New Brunswick. His Name is Ivan. He came down to my place (Wash, DC) driving a Titan V8 pulling a trailer. He towed the car away and about 2 years later, he sent me the pics you see. I have sent him an email asking for more pics, videos and details about the car. I will post them when I hear back from him. Here is a link to the original post. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=97152
  15. I believe that this should be in its own thread. I had it in another thread but I think lots of you would want to see this so here it is. Link to Video: http://ywnv.vidiac.com/recentvideos/7/8398a7ec-f655-4e70-9d11-99ab012eba03.htm He said the car is running the quarter mile in 8.60s at 155 on the motor and 8.30's at 165 on the juice. This run didn't allow wheelie bars so he backed off a bit. The car is street legal. Well, it is tagged! It has a 572 BBC in it.
  16. Here is the pic. It does sort of look like a Z car.
  17. Here is another update on this car. I spoke to the guy today. He led me to this video. Totally sick. http://ywnv.vidiac.com/recentvideos/7/8398a7ec-f655-4e70-9d11-99ab012eba03.htm He said the car is running the quarter mile in 8.60s at 155 on the motor and 8.30's at 165 on the juice. 18. When I bought my car, it was 99% rust free. It had a cracked dash with a nice full cover on it. It looked fine. I eventually found an NOS dash still in the box and replaced it. Now that it is in, I am happy that I have it but I could be just as happy with a full dash cover. Go rust free first. Rust is very expensive to fix. And you never seem to get it all the first time. Unless you are like "mull". Good Luck!
