  1. Ok i did a search and got alot of hits but nothing in this area. which kinda surprised me. I have heard that the front suspension is almost as importtant as the rear in drag racing. Is there anyone out there that has a good strut/spring combo for drag racing? If i remember right you want the front suspension to extend quickly then come down slowly? if im wrong please correct me ;> After im done with my 8.8 install i will work on the front alittle this winter thanks
  2. You saw your halfshaft dangling????? and you made it home???? I have s nismo r-200 LSD. new case all new internals with about 300 miles on it. 600 plus shipping. 4.88 gearing
  3. Yea i know thats one of the reasons i was saying it was kind of cheesy. I couldnt fugure out how to filter the background noise out. Im thinking that involves more money in video equip

  5. I've searched... not too hard kinda lazy tonight. anyone have good links to places that sell complete ford 8.8 rearends. i have found tons of nine inch stuff... but not nearly as much stuff on teh 8.8. Im just trying to get an idea on how much a good bullet proof 8.8 is going to cost

Brad if i searched hard enough i bet i could find the thread where i made the same post about getting into the 10's about 2 years ago i honestly think low 11 sec is the best we are going to do with the setup we are running....without breaking something. put a nice twin turbo setup on , turn up the booste launch it easy and make it up on the big end is the other option. I just want to get into the tens with a unmodded motor and to do that its gonna take a hi rpm launch combined with good traction and no breakage. I think with the Ford 8.8 with 35 spline axles, a spool and 4.88 gearing will get me well into the 10's BTW i didnt realize how much track distance a half a second was till i got beat heads up by a 10 sec car. he ran a 10.95 @ 122MPH i ran a 11.5 @ 124 mph and he was a good 10 car lengths ahead of me he pulled those 10 car lengths by half track i started to real him in but there wasnt enough track
  7. right now just get the rearend done. after that maybe some t-25 upgrade turbos, a headgasket (metal), better intercooler, and 20-25 psi of booste. this wont happen till i get back over to japan though
  8. yep thats what im thinkin. once i get that squared away i will start on the motor its pretty amazing to think this performance is coming from a motor that is basically stock with a little more booste. i cant wait to throw a head gasket, bigger turbos and more booste at it
  9. well the 3.9 is what i used to run.... that put me at the top end of 3rd at 127 mph. i want to be at the top end of 4th. which the 4.88 did but it is harder on the axles. at any rate my car goes in the shop for a solid axle install in 2 weeks ;> final decision is a 8.8 with 35 spline axles, spool, 4.56 gears and disc brakes. going to run a ladder bar setup with coilover shocks.
  10. yes i have .. im currently running a 4.88 nismo diff. it mad a huge difference. but i still cant launch like i want to. If my rearend would hold together for 4500 rpm launch with the 4.88 it would be inthe 10s for sure.

I too like the IRS but the reality of the entire thing is no matter how strong you get something built the biggest it will be is 26-28 spline.... most drag guys cringe when i say im trying to get a 28 spline shaft to hold up to a 10 sec run. thats why i pretty much gave up on it. as for your gearing the 4.88 i put in mine got me all the way to the top of 4th thru the traps. if i got any faster would have to go to fifth. and yes its still available

  13. to tell you the truth i believe the combination of the open diff and not being able to to a huge 2 tire burnout is the only thing saving brad from breaking rearend stuff right now. you said in an earlier post you didnt trailer it.... well hope you have one lined up you will need it soon
  14. wow brad all i can say is dajavue!!!!! i predict pretty soon youll be doing a nine inchswap. you are progressing exactly the same way i did. the best 60 foot i got was a 1.69 launching at like 4500... anything higher i just spun the tires. Im assumming you are considering a linelock???? this is where your troubles will begin. the linelock will allow you to do big burnouts and make the tires really sticky. If anyone is interested in hosting some videos i have a bunch now of my car even the one breaking my axle ;< Brad im thinking anything fast then a 1.6 with the twin plate and you will start breaking stuff. Are you running halfshafts or CV's.
  15. dont bet a paycheck youll hit those numbers my car weighs 2900 with me in it. my best MPH is 127mph according to that calculator thats 463rwhp. then when i input it into the other calc it says i should be running a 10.7. I'm pretty sure on a perfect day with good traction and no breakage and a perfect launch i might be there. I would subtract .3-.5 from the time it says youll run and be happy if you exceed that. are you gonna be able to run at the nago drags before you leave?
  16. me video. it is not a fake i have both and they are identical just from different angles. he is not leaning against the cop car it is at least 20-15 feet behind him. if you want teh video you are talking about i can email it to you so you can compare
  17. just walked in the door. We got out on a 141. 10 seats onbly 4 takers .. i thought it was gonns be a good flight. we get to yokota and they tell us all the cargo is being downloaded so i figure they are going to open it up for more space A. then i hear there is none? we get back to the airplane now our 15+ seats has turned into just 4. they Loaded eve more cargo for the trip to alaska!!!!! we were in jumpo seats and it was bumpy all the way here but i cant complain it was free. saved at least 5K+ taking space A more money for the car ;>
  18. the most recent thing i heard was that he was forced to do the robberies. if he didnt he would be blown up. he was supposed to bring the money back to a specific location and if he didnt he would be blown up!!!!!. this was a normal everyday guy with no record. the cops just let him die. he was begging and pleading for someone to remove the bomb
  19. the very first run at the track was a 12.3 at 114 mph by the end of the day i was in the low 11s after some more tuning. the only thing that changed atfter the injector change and turnng the booste up was i started breaking rearend stuff and when i didnt break my MPH was up around 127mph. my old 60 was 1.7 now its in the 2.0+ range. i have had a couple of 1.9s but anything harder then that it breaks something ;<

  23. i love it it is a cheap alternative to all the hi dollar laptop setups. allthough i do wish i could datalog sometimes ;< installation is simple and the harness is clean
  24. yea they are having problems with the phones.... ill try and give you a ring. I actually saw you driving on 58 the other day. car looks good. the pictures dont do it justice.. then again they never do
