  1. ok sorry misunderstood you. I guess maybe you could take the back half of the gts-t tranny and bolt it up to the gtr tranny but you would have to use the internals from the gts-t ...again waste of time. you could just unbolt the front driveshaft and leave it all there (you cant just cut of the transfer case) but if you leave the transfer case you will have to cut a hole in the floor to clear the hump in teh tranny... again not feasible. If thats what he did then i dont know what to say there is a much easier way to do it.
  2. you dont remove the bits. the tranny that is used in this swap is is the GTS-T 5 speed. it is the same as the gtr tranny internally so there is no point in trying to remove the parts from the AWD tranny. If thats the way someone is doing it he is wasting alot of time and money
  3. no It wont fit....you would have to basically fabricate the entire underside of the car to fit the gtr suspension. i think what your friend did was use a gearbox from a GTS-T its a 5 speed. the transfer case is apart of the tranny case and cant be removed... besides the GTS-T tranny is the same as the gtr internally without the transfer case. do a search for AWD Z... there is one in japan that did what your talking about. but as described above its not real streetable... the intercooler sticks out past the stock bumper. i wouldnt mind doing it if i had the money for a track car but for a street car .... naaaaa i stick with my rear wheel drive soon to be nine inch.
  4. heres my opinion. take your money and do a rb26 swap with a good aftermarket tranny and ford nine inch or comparable rear. in the long run you will have less money it the project and it will more then likely be faster then the same car setup in AWD.
  5. this car is on okinawa and is one fast one at that

  11. ron you wanna sell it without the drivetrain?
  12. i used gtr calipers with 300z rotors on my z but i sectioned the bottem of my struts and welded together the bottem of the 300z strut. if you browse the 300z forums you might be able to find places to get this stuff... it is a bolt on swap for all 5 lug 300Zs

How is your rearend holding up? I'm really starting to research my options and what is going to be a good option for me. i really want to go with an automatic. It will need a hi stall to build booste and if it launches at 4-5000 rpm at full booste (15 psi) that will be 400RWHP and from what ive seen that will be some wheel standing fun ;> Are those street strip bars up to some wheel standing fun? thanks
  14. nope its different sorry. i believe it is someone on this sight that has advertised them before
  15. ooks liek an arizona z acr arm io have them on mine
  16. I'm assuming you pretty much had to backhalve the car to pickup the subframe mounting points? that is a wicked setup.
  17. HKS guys are more experienced with drag race type setups. dont be surprised if you see different numbers
  18. what shop did you get the dyno done at? You for sure have to take video im missing good old okinawa.
  19. did anyone else notice the corvettes were in the slower gt 300 class? skylines are in the gt500 class ;>
  20. twisted it off right where the inbd splines end and the bearing surface begins
  21. well dont i feel stupid. ive been here for a while and never noticed that search thing. i did a search for rb swap and got 2356 hits in every single forum. then i did a more specific search rb26 and got 133 hit. That search function needs to be in everyones "do a search" reply. Most people will be in the forums when they are searching. if there was a message put out to all the members about this search option it would clear alot of things up. again great job guys keep it up ;>
  22. WOW, I wanted to reply yesturday but my spacebar was actiling like a backspace. anyways its fixed now. I think that sticky on the "so you wanna do an rb swap" in the old rb forum would have killed alot of the basic over and over questions. i personally spent very little time in any other forum except the rb and drivetrain sections because those were the things Im really involved with now. I'm cool with an 6 cylinder forum only. the only reason i posted the question was i thought something was wrong with my computer ;> As for answering the same questions..... if the title even looks familiar i dont open it anymore. i recieve an email every other day from people wanting the basic info. i have a word doc a cut and paste and reply with ;> if none answers a multiple repeat question then it will force the member to search more. I personally like the old search where you could look in all section at once. took a little time but you would be suprised how some topics get off topic and migh mention the exact thing you were looking for. ie rotary info in the v-8 section. anyways the forum rocked in the beginning, in the middle and is still going strong in my opinion. keep up the good work.
  23. im using the 300z stubs and broke one first attempt at the track after i finished the mod. im sure the new hks twin plate clutch, 4.88 ratio diff, and new cromoly cv axles had something to do with it but it surprised the hell out of me that they broke so easily. i only launched at 2500 rpm.
