  1. actually there is a radio show up here in alaska that does a fact or bullcrap skit and that my friend is bullcrap
  2. hi im stony. if you are going to do somekind of rearend beef-up teh stub axles have to go . i machined my struts to except the z31 300z stub shafts. they are new, and hopefully alot stronger. there are z31 300zs out therer pushing well over 500rwhp and have no problems with the r-200, axles and stub shafts.
  3. didnt think about the engine being so heavy but still that same motor say in the FD or s30 or ae86 would blow the doors off the z32
  4. now thats got to be a slug. even if it was 400hp thats alot of weight to be pushing around. not sure i would even consider doing that swap.
  5. obviously the z31 300z parts are going to add to the total cost of the swap but it is still a cheaper mod then a nine inch. im entertaining offers on the diff. 400-500 plus shipping would get it to your door. keep in mind AZC sells these exact diffs for 700+. i sent him 13 diffs from japan that were sold in 2 months. he cleans them then turns around and sells them. the diff im selling came out of a z31 zr200 with i pulled it myself http://www.arizonazcar.com/LSD.html
  6. and over all stronger then the r230 swap since the s30 stubs and companion flange is taken out of the picture. on top of that you are using used parts that are not quite as old as the s30 stuff
  7. ok heres the scoop. i have a total of around 1000.00 into this and would like to know if there is any interest in a kit. heres what i have had done. modded strut housing to accept different bearing ($350) Custom length chromoly race axles ($400) brakets for the z-31 (88 turbo) rear calipers ($250) the above is including all hardware to complete mods ie bearing, bearing races, metal, and labor. What it dosnt include is the r-200 diff, 88 z31 cv axles, stubshafts and companion flanges, z31 rotor and calipers. The only thing you need from the axles is the cv joints. I Also Have AZC coilovers and tubeular control arms so this may have effect measurements. so add what ever it costs for you to get the additional hardware and this swap shold be good for 500+rwhp. I got my parts from a friends crashed 300z he was parting out for free ;> including a r-200 LSD ;> which also means i will be selling my spare soon and im taking offers ;> This has yet to be tested but will be soon. if anyone is intersted i can do a more indepth writeup ie measurements and part numbers. It is a little pricey but if it works would be cheaper then a nine inch conversion let me know
  8. i got too many hits from the search and dont have time to read them all.... i need to know what offset everybody runs with 15x8 wheels with coilovers. im getting ready to order mine. These are by the way front wheels. i allready have the rears just need fronts measurements
  9. i got too many hits from the search and dont have time to read them all.... i need to know what offset everybody runs with 15x8 wheels with coilovers. im getting ready to order mine.
  10. do it, document it, and maybe you could make some money from a install kit.
  11. no i did mod the struts. the s30 had standard size bearing and the z31 had metric so there is no way to get a set of bearings that wont require any mods. i had tapered bearings and races installed in the struts (which need to be machined so the bearing would fit) then used the stubs, companion flanges, and a set of custom length 300z z31 chromoly axles, and the r-200 LSD diff from the same car. i still have to make the brackets so i can use the z31 rear calipers. but when its done the mod will have cost about 1000.00 for everything. I did get the z31 parts for pretty much free. but i dont see the parts costing more then 3-400 bucks from a junk yard.
  12. seeing how many post it takes to be a hybrid master ;> and to revive some old rb stuff ;>
