Hmm that sounds wierd. If you dont have the alt wired into the z voltage reg maybe its just the alternator is bad???? I had a similar problem with mine... may have been a indication problem BUT. when i started mine up the Voltage gage in the car would only read 11-12 volts but when i revved the engine it would pop up to 13-14 volts and stay there. It was almost like the 2 regulators were fighting each other. and when i revved the engine the alternator internal reg took over. Matt wired mine when i was in japan and im pretty sure it was wired into the stock harness the same way the stock alt was. Which I think means i had 2 regulators in the system. Post your question in the yahoo group.. im sure you will get an answer quick. Im pretty sure Matt wrote something up in hybridz somewhere on who to wire everything up if you want to check your setup.

I got one for ya... anyone know what the difference between a 400HP supra and a 700HP supra is? Nothing they both run 12s.... BTW good job bringing back a 5 year old thread

For the street the tranny is fine for a while but hard shifts will kill the scyncros eventually. The reason most of the people have gone to autos that run at the track is because they want to go faster and be more reliable. The rb25 tranny is strong but it is stock. you will spend way more money on upgrading the 5 speed to be realiable then just going to an auto. I went to a 2 speed. Total cost of going to a "good" 2 speed setup ( tranny, torque converter, adaper kit) for me was around 5K. You cant touch a "good" upgraded 5 speed that will hold 600+ for even close to that. Then you still have to go out and get a clutch. just my 2 cents.

heres the blowoff. The only thing that its missing are the washers that seal the banjo on top of the blowoff. But my 2 year old did get to the hardware bag before i did

Here is the wastegate. i recieved everything in excellent condition everything was packed very good.

Yes I have something and dont take it personal. ..... use the search button. everything you want to know about any of the rb series engines ( or just about) is in here. Thanks

Ok you said you have a booste gage on it but are you sure its accurate? If your running the stock computer unmodifed it has a boost max (dont remember what it is) that when it reaches it it cuts fuel. you can put a fuel cut defencer on it but that is just tricking the motor that it is not seeing the booste that it is actually seeing. This is why i tell anyone that does the swap, in the states, not to mess with the stock computer. go standalone or find someone that is competent in tuning a rb computer ( good luck in the states) . you cant just turn up the booste and add fuel. it needs to be tuned. Main thing to remember is these JDM engines are fine with turning up the booste in japan cause they have 98+ octane right out of the pump. you put 90 or 93 oct in the car and try to run the same as they do in japan with the stock ingnition map you will eventually blow your engine. You are allready pushing the maps just by running stock booste with the gas we have in the pumps here in the states. So my sugestions to you is get a stand alone or some kind of piggy back that turns off the fuels cuts and allows you to modify the fuel and ignition curves. then have it tuned by someone that knows what they are doing on a dyno. It may be a little expensive initially but it will save you the cost of an engine down the road and it will perform better to. Allot of people say they can just tune it on the road with a wideband... this is true in some cases but on a dyno it is more controlled and i guarentee you will use less gas on a dyno then tuning on the road.

I got it thanks, not sure why my old link didnt work but it does now

My book mark dosnt work anymore did they go under?

Scottie i agree 100%..... i personally talked to cheftrd in okinawa when i was there. He has compared the 2 side by side taken apart and has also used the 2 parts without issue for a while now. That is the only reason i went out and spent 150 bux on them. teh turbos are junk though dont touch them.
-
Makming the mounts is very cheap and easy if you have the knowhow and tools to do it. Another option would be to know someone with the tools and know how. if you have neither then 700 bux is a good deal because if you go to a pro and ask them to make them it will probably cost even more. There are lots of people here on Hybridz that can adn will help you out sounds like you have a pretty good offere allready:-D
-
I havent used them yet but they look high quality. Good machining and good castings on both. I hope to be using them within the next 2 months but i have seen a couple other guys using them in japan with good results.

OBTW here is a pick of the Tial Blowoff and the HKS wastegate
-
Hey guys just alittle heads up. If your in the market for a blow off and/or wastegate i just recieved both from ssautochrome and i have confirmed they are of very good quality. Cheftrd turned me onto to them when i was in japan. the 50mm blowoff is exactly the same as the tial 50mm blowoff including all internals. http://www.ssautochrome.com/level.itml/icOid/1545 This is the one i got the 60mm wastegate is exactly the same as the HKS 60mm GTII external wastegate that retails in at 890+ us. here is the pic of the Wg and again this wastegate is exactly the same as the HKS wastegate only difference is the HKS logo is not on it. DO NOT buy from the web page. go to ebay and find there ebay store. I got my blowoff for 55 bux and the wastegate for 98 and combined shipping fro 30 bux. Im not trying to push SSautochrome or these 2 products just thought some of you might be interested in saving a buck or 2.

Hey just cause i didnt see it in there, does the stock sterring linkage work?
-
When you start a new thread and you want to put pics in the thread that open instead of links that open a new window click on the button that has the 2 mountains in it, there will be a window that pops up cut and paste the link into the window and click ok. or you could just type in

gijonas I fixed you first post so pics all show up in the thread Any pics of the turbos installed. Any room for bigger turbos then what the z32 shell can accomadate????
-
Stock turbos will get you into the 400 range, they are boost limited due to the ceramic wheels wanting to come apart at anything above 15 PSI. Mine dynoed 392 at the wheels with stock turbos, SDS, Stock GTR intercooler, 680 cc injectors. Upgrade the turbine wheels and now you good to about the 500 range with all the supporting intercooler and fuel system mods. I'm not to familiar with specific turbines so cant really tell you what certain turbos will do. I can also tell you that the stock piston in the rb becomes un realiable around 550 HP. This forum has alot of good swap info, but for specific rb26 engine modifications stuff i would recommend a rb26 or gtr forum. I have a yahoo group specific to rb26/sr20 engine stuff. If you'd like to join do a search in yahoo groups for rb26dett. Stony

I showed the video to a little birdie friend of mine and this is what he told me....

There are many well documented cases of oil starvation on the stock rb26s I have not expeienced it but have read a bunch of articles on how easy it is ti blow a stock 26 on a road course unless newmourous oil system mods have been done. one is installing a restrictor in the head that keeps more Oil in teh pan. Larger sump and Hi volume pump are mandatory. Hopefully Motorworx (MATT) will see this and explain someMore one what you need to do to get teh rb out to track specs.
-
Stop the presses!!!!! if that is your oil pressure on the middle gage i would stop running it till you mod the oil system. This is why the stock rb does not do well on the track. Please for the love of god get that fixed before the Beautiful motor calls it quits.
