  1. Typed the words right out from under me. My thoughts exactly. To me it doesn't look NEW enough to be the new Z. I still stand by the BMW Z4 coupe as a good modern version of the 240Z. It needs more "cues" but it's got the overall shape to be it. Much more so than the 350Z. To me though that car just looks too much like a highly modified S30 car. Sure I'd love nissan to make something like that, but they never would.
  2. I've held money from seven different countries, and still... the only money that looks like real money to me is american money. I guess i'm just too patriotic. Feels great knowing you're gonna spend it all huh? I actually hate that. I look at it and think "intercooler, alum radiator, turbo.... mmmm turbo, exhaust, cams, oOo and suede racing seats, yummy"
  3. Mind me asking how much this is setting you back? I've wanted one of those a long time and hope to own one someday. Let's just hope japan doesn't run out. Car looks great btw. Well... I see the potential, so to me it looks great. Others might not agree... yet.
  4. Yea well, just call me up aux and we can go stare at it together. What I love about this place is that you're ALL motivation. I look at people like johnc and say "man, i want to know as much as that guy" and I look at people like darius and say "man, I want to be as fast as that guy" and I look at people like aux and say "man, I want to be as innovative as that guy" and I look at all the uncompleted cars and say "I don't want to be one of those guys". So you're all motivation in some form or another.
  5. WOW, those are sick pedals. I'm not happy with my LDFP pedals since it doesn't have a clutch, and I might consider that DIY guide. That's really brilliant. I'm sure it's not cheep though. I'd be nice to see what it's cost others the build. Eventually I want a new wheel too. I want to find a place I can test the G25.
  6. flagstaff is in the phoenix/mesa area right? are you up in the superstition mountains? Last time I was down in the area was the first time I'd been up that direction, and I must admit I was surprised at how cold it was. Sucks about the Z heater. I once had to drive 100 miles in the rain at around 40 degrees with the window down because my windshield kept fogging up. And I didn't have a jacket. Not fun.
  7. in my experience anything that's POSSIBLY a R200 CLSD is worth the effort. Go find out if it's LSD, and pull it if it is. Even if you don't have a use for it. If it's LSD it will have the finned cover, and i've personally never seen a non LSD with a finned cover (though i'm not saying they're not out there). Once it's out just crack it open and take a look-see.
  8. i can't seem to find anything on this EXACT case, but try checking windows update for critical updates. What's your OS? Push come to shove you can backup your KERNEL32.dll and try mine out instead just to see if that fixes it. Taken from another board:
  9. If you want, contact me either with AIM: Gollumthesage or PM me. I can help ya figure out what's good for what price range. My computer is holding up fairly well to this game so far, and it's not worth much anymore. Built it about 6 months ago and it was only midrange at the time.
  10. Between the car knowledge, music knowledge, computer knowledge, and other random people I think HZ could start a magazine publishing articles on pretty much anything.
  11. yea, i felt great till others in the room laid down some 1:51s.... ouch First online impressions: LAG I've got a decent internet connection, good enough that i've had competitive counter strike teams play from my house. And driving behind someone with a slow net it looks like their car is on 4 casters... kinda funny looking. Reminds me of the dial up racing days and seeing cars fly 100 feet into the air. Is anyone else gonna keep playing tonight? I left the sever because there was just a lot of bickering going on that bored me out. I didn't see anyone from HZ so I left.
  12. Whoa, you live in AZ and need a heater? You're nuts.
  13. So what track(s) are you guys racing next. The game is terribly hard to get used to (jumped right into simulation with a 900 degree wheel), so I'd like to get some practice in on some courses we'll be doing so I don't make a complete fool of myself.
  14. Yup, seen that one. I've loved his car since I first ever logged into HZ. He's not far from where I live yet i've never seen it. Real shame cuz that car is amazing.
  15. well that looks to be about as useful as a square bowling ball... ...we should put the creator out of his misery...
  16. My computer is on 24/7, always doing something. I make my computer work harder than I do. So inevitably I'm logged into HZ nearly as often as I'm breathing.
  17. Wow, i know that's CAD but that's still a nice chunk-o-change. I'd like to see pics of this car. $2,200 for my first 280ZX NA (80') and I paid too much. Good car, but I could have gotten a turbo for that price in good shape $500 for the nest 280ZX NA (81') and that was what it was worth. Lots of missing parts and such. The previous ZX was a parts car after popping out of gear on a hill (e-brake would stick so i didn't use it... stupid stupid stupid). I'm trying to score a S30 up the street but I've got nowhere to put it, so I haven't talked to the owner. It's either a 260 or 240 (i'm retarted and can't tell, but it doesn't have the huge 280 bumpers). Once I have a place to put it I'll talk to them about buying it. It's been sitting since they moved in 8 years ago. I'm hoping to get it for next to nothing. If it's a 260 or later 240 I won't pay more than $500 for it (maybe less). CA isn't in short supply....
  18. the only thing wrong with your idea lexshimmy, is that you don't see many touge monsters over 3k pounds. I think the heaviest serious touge car i've seen is the S2000, wich after carbon mods isn't too heavy anymore. If touge type driving is your goal then there's other problems, such as steering responce and feel. Much of how well a car does on the touge is about how well it can be tossed without being bothered. Light, responsive, and well setup are the things that make a touge car great. I'm not saying it can't be done, I'm just saying don't get your hopes up on it being some great mountain racing car. Most people agree the 300ZX is well suited to touring, and there's nothing wrong with a good GT car.
  19. I might go and pick it up. Pretty cheep game. It's only been out like a year and it's dropped that much.... I know this game won IGN's "best game that nobody ever played" award for 2006. It seems the lackluster sales have dropped the price substantially. I've got the logitech GT force pro. People say it's the best. That doesn't say much IMO. I hate how hard it is to countersteer and in even the best games you can't feel traction loss at all. All around it's too stiff. I like how stiff it can get, I just wish it was only stiff at the right times. I might also be able to get you guys a free ventrilo server to use. (ventrilo is the best IP voice com out there FYI) I have access to several servers and I'll just ask around and see who wants to give me permission to invite 10+ guys in for racing.
  20. I never saw that picture so many times in a thread... DAMN your FMIC is big 240hoke. I guess I never really noticed... Crazy. If anyone can't find ANYTHING about this on google I'll do a write up. But I must admit there's tons of info out there on the subject.
  21. Ok, so who's gonna be first to go out and put some turbines on their Z now? They'd be great for a 30-100mph boost i bet.
  22. Yea, but that one might actually be worth 50k mightymaxxx (probably more actually)
  23. The first gen celica would be a tough fit. The made the nose longer after the first few years. Then longer again. Then they made it longer yet again in order to fit an inline 6 in it (1M i think). So to put the L28 would be a stretch. Though those cars do fit V variety motors quite nicely.... (I got some hands on time with one at a junkyard that I really wanted to buy, but had no space for a random chassis)
  24. Yea, trimming might sound a bit tiresome, but I knew a guy once who would shave his arms completely everyday because for some obscure reason he thought the ladies would like it.... EDIT: That guy down there just posted his third post ever, and he joined the same date I did... Makes me want to cut down on how much I post.... I'll try to keep it to edits more often...
  25. It'd be interesting to see what the lighting would be like at dawn/dusk. I like the feeling of texture the wood chips add. The flare could use some work but that's typical for a quick photoshop job (though it's when it comes to hours of photoshopping that I get lost and don't know what to do sometimes, relegating me to "quick jobs" that never look pro caliber).
