Our neightborhood is pretty awsome now by comparison. We use to have monthly drive bys, no biggie. The best was our house getting egged and then a car window shot at, all because my sister is a teacher! And not a single teacher got to flunk a student that semester because of the aministration (it makes the school look good on paper). Ok, i'll contribute my list of things. 1. When your lawnmower walks off in the middle of the night... from your backyard. 2. When the neighbor down the street waves to you while mowing his lawn... 3. When mower is thus returned the next night... ^ 4. When neighbors have a shoot out over a tyson fight. 5. When a cop stops at a house with a guy working on his car, and the cop busts out his tool kit. 6. When the won't go after a thief that's within eyeshot. 7. When there's grass growing inside the house. 8. When the cops show up and take the 'grass' away but just park up the street. 9. Your neighbors dog gets killed via gun shot.... buy swat. 10. Your neighbot painted his own car... with house paint. 11. If the local bums have gold teeth caps. 12. If kids on motorised scooters are faster than your car... 13. If kid on motorised scooter kills himself, without hitting anything. 14. If neighbors complain because your party didn't leave them room for them to get out of thier driveway at 2am. 15. If a guy walking the street with bloody pants look at you and says "bloody nose yo." Yea, my area is so much better now though. I can't remember the last time I actually heard about anything bad going down in my area. Lots of rich people moving in from out of state since the real estate market jumped.

New Pictures!! Polished valve cover on! Which do you guys prefer?
Gollum replied to proxlamus©'s topic in Non Tech Board
Hmm, I'd go with the back, but that's becuase I'm usually down for the clean OEM look. But the polished DOES look nice. -
Ultra Rare..I Found My Cartech Z Brochure..Pics
Gollum replied to slownrusty's topic in Non Tech Board
Wait.. why would the one pusher posted have longer tubing than a convensional fmic? It seems ideal for the Z since the exhast & intake are on the same side right? Seems like it would be shorter length. -
aux, you sure are a "unique" individual.... ...I bet you'd be a blast in person too!

Just clean off your computer? I gotta clean my whole freakin' room now. Thanks...

Hey, the fact that a car that's labeled as a skyline is being sold on showroom floors is thilling for me. Everytime I see a G35 coupe with the areo package I say "dang, I can't wait for the GTR" If it looks anything like that I'll buy it if I can afford it. I don't care if it's 10 years down the line from now and it's 7 years old and has 200k miles on it. I don't care, I'll still buy one.

My hear goes out to all military. I personally know 3 marines and 1 coreman that have been to iraq. Never a care free assignment. IED's suck man. It's a real bummer. Hope & pray that your son has a complete and speedy recovery. Any knews on this bringing him home sooner? I'd assume they're gonna ship him out of there once the next medic plane makes it's way by.

I'd definatelly take an S130 over an S30. The S30's small size and very little body over the rear tires will make it hard to setup for drift (but i'm sure you still could) You're looking for balance. I'd look into what the guys with mustangs are doing to thier cars to drift, because they're not doing bad on the formula D circut and they start as very front heavy cars. Personally, I'd go with the 2+2, even though I don't like the looks of them as much. It'll give you more versatiliy for weight distrobution. I'd get your car weight stock and find out what the distrobution is.

I'm gonna sounds REALLY stupid, but I just thought of it and kinda laughed at myself. Anyone ever though about putting a RB26 motor in a Z in a rear engine AWD setup? I don't know how well it would fit in a S30, but in a 280ZX 2+2 it might fit, and it's a bit lighter of a car still than the skyline. I'm loosing my mind everyone. Someone stop me before I weld a rocket to the top of my car and leave my imprint in the side of a mountain.

I'd never want power steering in a car that light going anything over 110 MPH. No thanks. I've driven nonpower steering cars well into the 140-160 range and i've never taken a power steering car over 110, it just gets too light for me.

Infatuated Fourty-year-old Redneck on Your Race Yellow Comaro That's what I thought the second I saw it... I don't see the whole fried rice thing....

I just got a new job too! But it's gonna kinda suck for a while. I'll be doing service calls for a computer repair company a friend owns. They need someone who can be on call. So until buisness starts flowing well I'll only be making $9/hour, but I'll have the potencial to make upwards of $40 and hour once things get rolling. Maybe it'll work out, maybe it will. But either way I hope you get this job man! Always nice to have more cash flow, and salary rocks! PS sorry for the slight thred hijack, but I just didn't want to make a new thred about the same thing

Lingenfelter C5 vettes and Vipers use the stock intake manifold but ported. But I know the heads are either aftermarket or totally different, so I assume the lingenfelter motors are port matched. I'm sure someone here know's what heads the lingenfelter vettes use. So chime in

This is true.... I'm not ghetto though, i swear it. Just because my neighbors kill eachother doesn't mean i'm ghetto... right?

Wow, that rear end is NICE. Definatelly for peope who want to run ULTRA wide rims but don't want them sticking out too much. I wonder how well it performs.
-
That's AWSOME! I've always wanted to find a motor with rally tall heads and have just the heads stick out of the hood somehow. I think that'd be sick.

Yea, #1 killer of cats is fuel. Unburnt fuel can kill a cat in less than a year. The nice thing about turbos is that the turbo usually generates enough heat to burn off excess fuel, leading to generally lower emissions than NA vehicles. But nox is generally higher on turbo motors.

You right. Even though nothing about it is practical, it DOES sound fun. I've been trying to get my buddy with a CRX to do a RWD conversion. His excuse is that it's too much work... Pshh, forget him then.

Go to richmond & oakland. Within eyeshot there will always be at least one car with an outdated DMV temporary registration exempt paper in the window. I'd bet 90% of these cars are on the road illegally and the owner is perpetually bribing DMV workers for new temp papers, or have and in at the DMV. It's amazing how many cars on the road aren't registered and don't even have plates. Out of the last 10 accidents i've head about 1 person at fault out of the 10 had inssurance. 4 of them where hit and run and most likely were unregistered cars.
-
I know those cars VERY well. Get ready to rebuild the whole front end in order to make the engine fit. And a standard CRX weighs around 2200 pounds, kinda heavy for the size of the vehicle and the fact that it's FWD. I'd surprised to see a 350 convertion CRX weighing less than 2500. And that's not unreachable with a Z. But it's still freggin' cool. Seeing a CRX burn rear tires all day would be awsome.

Yea, 2k sounds good, as long as the chassis is in premo condition. Rust is the main factor here. If the car is in great shape other than the oil line & interior i'd say it's a fair price (if not a good deal for you). Now, the primer, for same measure a sealant should be sprayed before/after the primer. Some primers have that built in. If the car hasn't been sealed what so ever you might end up having to redo the primer job anyways. I'm sure more people with more knowledge about paint will chime in here. You're in the LA area so parts won't be hard to come by. Great parts might be a little hard to find, but general parts to complete the interior shouldn't be too hard.
-
Will heed the words for sure. I din't notice the spare area rust on my car before i bought it. Not that i can complain for 500 bucks though Yea, I'll check it up and down for rust. Battery tray, frame, floorpan, rear hatch. I'll check every crevice i can. I don't even want to deal with surface rust if i can get away with it.

Yea, well... I like throwing pushrods! So there Yea, this has gotten kinda off topic. Oh well. So are there any other cars that come clost to Z dimentions that might have wide body options?

Good point. Getting 10 rounds into a .45 glock gets my thumbs tired after a while. And glocks are easy compared to some.
