    300ZXT CV Issue

Jon is right I used http://www.driveshaftshop.com/ in Salisbury NC. They made a set for 550. They will also reassemble your axels. I would be interested to know the lengths of the shafts you have. The pair I had made were shorter than the ones Tom had made. The axels I had that were too long would have been short enough for Tom to use. Tom is using the 300 set up like you have, I have the 280 ZX set up. I'm not sure of the difference in the shaft diameter and spline count between the two shafts.
  2. I made a very similar splitter on my 73 with that same air dam after the aero tests. I used 060 aluminum and carried the piece back to the crossmember to flatten out that whole area. It is attached to the lip on the air dam with rivets about every 6 to 8 inches and a couple of rivets on the crossmember. I did need to use a couple of pieces of aluminum angle to stiffen the area between the air damn and the crossmember. Hope that helps.
  3. Who programmed the pcm? What is your fuel pressure? What fuel pump and regulator are you using?
  4. On my 93 lt-1 car I do not use the oil level sender or the tan wire for oil pressure. You can rule those out as the cause of your problem. My money is on VATS. JTR book give details about how to get around this if you do not have editing software.
  5. When I plug my truck in overnight, the temp readout on my programmer says about 130 before I start the truck. It's reading water temp in the block. As soon as I start the truck, water temps drop to about 80 to 90. The truck does warm up faster, I have heat sooner. Put a remote starter on the car, let it run for a minute or two and it'll accomplish the same thing.
  6. Thanks Mike, I just pulled the drive shaft and half shafts. It turns out one of the bolts that holds the diff to the mustache bar had backed loose. I'm pumped. An easy fix. Next event VIR with the Z car guys!
  7. Tom and John, I appreciate you help and support yesterday. Having you guys there to see the first run was fitting. I have had lots of fun miles with you both on the track. Tom's 280 zx is a time capsule. Great looking car. It's always a blast to see John go thru the kink at a GPS verified 104 and 1.41 G's on 3 wheels. We really need to get video of that. My goal was to get a lap or two in before I had to put the car on the trailer. I ended up running 3 sessions before a rear end problem put an end to the day. I have the dreaded clunk. The autopsy starts in a few minutes. It was a very succesful first outing and I brought home a list of things that need to be addressed before the next track day. Here are a few pics of the car.
  8. How about a cot and some garage space? I could use a change of scenery.
  9. The usual dose is take two of each and call me in the morning:icon42:
  10. Chin Motorsports is at Road Atlanta on June 2. They are a great group of guys to run with and you will get tons of track time. A very good value for a track day.
  11. Alright! I've found my new hang out. Only about 45 minutes from my house.
  12. For a PA car it doesn't look too bad. If you are buying this car beat on and not sink a lot of cash into, go for it. If you have plans for a long term high HP nice looking project, start with a better car. You could buy a plan ticket to Arizona, shop for a week and have a nice car or shell shipped home (or maybe even drive it home) for less than a compentent shop would charge for rust repair and body work on that car.
  13. I wonder if parts are available? I see a couple that are interesteing.
