  1. i remember seeing a similar setup in a hotrod mag, it ran 8's and was street legal, and it was on the factory 6-speed, the guy has the fastest manual car, he was about to put a TH-400 in it, but i havne't seen any updates.
  2. I recently just found out about the virginia thing, that you can't even lower a car or have any non-stock exhaust either, they are really cracking down, when most of the cars that are lowered and have an exhaust do not seem that loud, its the honda guys that hit redline on ever shift(like one of my buddys) that make the noise.
  3. Sounds like the ignition module, but im not sure if the turbo ones have the same module as the N/As that are prone to breaking.
  4. waynekarnes is right, it won't b the camaro anymore, its supposed to be a FWD car, wich destroys the whole idea of the camaro, even if they put a nice engine such as the LS7 in it, all it would do is spin the front tires off the line, and go no where......what a waste.

  7. i have a 3.9 in my car, and it hauls sum ***, especially with a 3 speed, it still has getup and go.

  10. Do you know how far it does go back? You said no old cars like Z's, but did u mean all the Z's, or is an 81' too old, too?
  11. well, i suppose that is a good solution for the ground, i think i may do that tommorrow, but the relay didn't help the headlights, and they were working just 2 days ago, and then a screwdriver accidently hit the wiring for it, and it shorted out. So im thinking that i may just wire it to the battery with an inline fuse, and ground it with a switch, like a nitrous type switch.
  12. well, i havn't figured out the headlight problem yet, i just drove the car home, i had a frend in a 240sx guide the way in the dark. But the shutting off problem is the same one i've been having for a long time, my harness ground wire keeps frying, on the 280zx it hooks up to a bolt on the injector cooling fan-is this a common problem that it just breaks apart-ALOT. How can i fix it, i keep trying thicker wires, but nuthing works

I posted this in one of my threads about my car in the nontech forum, but it didn't start as a tech problem, so it will probly b more helpfull here ..........damn, i went to work, couldn't get the headlights to work, i got the backup lights to work though-blown fuse. I replaced the blown headlight fuse, but no headlights work.....damn, then it started to POUR-so i was gonna drive home-about 2 miles, and pickup my truck and drive that to my other job-about 10 miles(not driving in the rain w/o headlights). Well it was pouring so bad, that there was a cop at every corner because traffic was just crazy. and i didn't feel like getting pulled in the middle of a storm cuz my lights didn't work, so i just turned onto the highway, started to cutoff on the highway, but it didn't completely shut off till i was on the exit ramp, wich was all backed up. So i gave the car a few "love taps" (hit the dashboard)-a few minuts later it started backup, i traveled the last mile to work and almost shut off again. Could my hood vents being off cause water to get into the electrical to short out and shut the car off?- all my connections were all secure and it didn't look like anything was frayed. Could the vents b the problem? And, i know the headlights have a fuse, but do they also have a relay? I have the extra relays lying around if i need them, but wich relay is it-if it even is a relay?

  15. pretty much, all i gotta do is get an alignment, and replace sum fuses-i cant find the fuses at my house, so i'll hafta pick sum up after school tday

I finnally got the car back, i was driving it for awhile, and the flashers went on and i took forever trying to find the switch cuz i thought it was in the back of the car cuz i disconnected all the panels, turns out after an hour or 2, i noticed it was hooked up the whole time, but was on the floor hanging from the dash, then i fixed it, but then i blew my headlight and backup light fuses-other than that, all i need is an alignment.
  17. i was hopeing this week would b much better, seeing as how i had a week of crappyness, usaully theres a killer week commin up.....nope, i was supposed to get the Z back on friday-didn't happen, so i called yesterday, nobody answered, stopped by the shop, no1 was there, called this morning before school, no1 answered, called after school, no1 answered, dropped by the shop-no1 is there. Talked to the mechanic that sent the car to him, he said he talked to him a little while ago, and would call me back in a bit, havent gotten my call, usually they get back to me within 10 minuts-its been almost an hour. I AM GETTING PISSED.
  18. the thing is, within a few miles of my house, there is nearly no crime at all, he just doesn't like ppl knockin on his door, thats wht he told me, he said there is sumtimes ppl traveling, thats all he said-he didn't say sumthin like that there are ppl tryin to rob him or anything

  20. This has been a horrible week!! accept for a few hours on july 4th, becuz i just hung out with a frend. But other then that, HORRIBLE. on july 4th, i was at McDonalds, and i was about to pull out of the drive-through. and the truck goes BOOOOMMMMM and smoke pours out of the hood, i thought i blew the engine to pieces or sumthing. so i just pushed in the clutch and guided it to a parking spot. Upon further inspection, it seems as though everything went bad at once-the fan siezed up becuz it hit the fan shroud, and it bent so it hit the radiator(wich i just put a brand new one in LAST WEEKEND) and the thermestat stuck.....so the pressure inside the hoses just burst. Got it home, fixed everything, put in a new cap, rotor, spark plug and spark plug wires, just becuz they were long overdue to b changed, put in a new thermastat and gasket, and other things. Ran kinda crappy, so i cleaned the combustion chamber with sum amsoil powerfoam, then it ran awesome. So its all fixed up. Well, yesterday, i almost got fired, becuz i took a lunch break and got lost for an hour and a half, and by the time i came back, the shop was closed. Last nite i got pulled. Tnite, my truck broke down, about a mile from my house, so i ditch it in a driveway, and knocked on the guys door to ask if i could leave the truck there for the nite-and the guy pulls his "peacemaker"(no joke, thats the word he used)-well, i got a damn 12 gauge pulled on me, just for knocking on his door.----WHT EVER HAPPENED TO SOUTHERN HOSPITALITY.

  22. What other cars came with a turbo that would bolt upto the stock 280zx flange? I tried searching, but i can't get the right key words. Would a CT26 fit? or sum of those saab/volvo turbos? I really don't wanna down grade the size, i want sumthing of the same size or bigger. I know the Mk3 surpa turbo CT26 is bigger, but i wanna know if it will fit, i dont wanna hafta make a custom flange. Any other turbos?
