  1. The only adapters I've seen are custom made. I had the center hub cut on a cnc lathe of my design. I paid $350 for that. I built the bellhousing adapter myself from 3/4" aluminum plate. It wasn't too hard to do. The tricky part is centering it. I actually built two. The first one was off center and broke my flexplate.
  2. I pulled the injectors and rail off as an assembly and pressurized the rail. The injectors didn't leak. I checked power and ground to the injectors, didn't see anything odd. Just an update...
  3. Ah ha! Injectors stuck open. I seem to be having that same problem right now.
  4. Same problem here with the felpro gasket. Leaks from the back right corner, used high track spray too.
  5. If you rev the engine a little does it do anything? I'm not sure if the 3N71 has a vane pump (likely does) the vanes could be stuck from sitting a long time. Sometimes revving the engine a little can unstick the vanes.
  6. Yeah it's fuel. The injectors were remanufactured from motorman.
  7. I only have answers to a few of your questions because it's been too cold to pull the fuel rail for inspection. I know t the engine hydrolocked because the starter just clicked. When I pulled all the plugs and soon the engine over fuel sprayed out in a 10 foot stream across the shop from at least 2 cylinders. I really need to get it apart and see what happened. Was just curious if this had happened to someone before and could either say yeah your injectors are fubar or not.
  8. I don't know what the duty cycle is but I do think I am likely pushing the limits of these injectors. That is a good point you make about them being stuck open. Maybe a gentle tap with a screwdriver handle will unstick them?
  9. Just wondering if you've visited some of the gran national/ t-type forums.
  10. A lot of guys here use magnacore (not sure on spelling) wires. I use the accel 8.8mm from autozone.
  11. I was making some dyno pulls on the 83 280zx turbo when the car died and hydro locked with fuel. It was running really well before this happened. I'm using the Bosch injectors found on Ford cfi engines. Static fuel pressure is 30 psi and multiplies with boost @ 25 psi. Anyone have an idea what happened to my injectors? Thanks
  12. You also may need to make sure that the valves won't contact the block.
  13. I'm interested to know what this part does specifically...On another note it looks somewhat similar to a part I had custom made. Would cost around $300.
  14. The rear end in my stock 350 s10 broke. I blame it in the worthless b&m shift kit they make for the 700r4. It would chirp the tires during 1-2 shifts at any throttle position. Drove me nuts!
  15. The ms2 daughter card comes with a base map. Just input your injector characteristics and displacement etc...
  16. I removed r56 and measured resistance while making adjustments and I don't get any change. I'm not sure what's going on.
  17. Looks like I may have broken the trim pots.
  18. They are nearly a direct replacement. Rather than the hose being permanently attached to the injector, you will use two clamps per injector. On the 83 na I'm running stock rail, pump and regulator. The 83 turbo I'm using the same injectors but with custom rail, wally 255, and aeromotive regulator.
  19. You may want to request this thread to be moved to the megasquirt subform. You may receive more feedback there. Also upload your msq file and maybe a datalog.
  20. Try motorman for fuel injectors. You'll need the ford cfi injectors that came on 80-85 5.0 engines. I think I paid $30 each. They are 440cc.
  21. Sorry, let me rephrase. I trimmed the heat shield and ran it that way for a while. Then removed it and wrapped the manifold later on.
  22. I trimmed my heat shield and have wrapped the manifold and compressor housing.
  23. Could be a problem with the water pump. If there is a lot of putting in the front cover the water pump can't pump very well.
