  1. I can do 400 miles in my ZX before a fill up is need, assuming I'm chugging along at 70-75. I averaged 380miles before each fill up. The manual says its a 80L tank, so like 21 gal. Lol exhaust aspirator.
  2. https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/240z/complete-r200-r230-rear-end-conversion-z-car It'd be cheaper to find an r200 longnose
  3. I did it 5 times with stock headlights, not impossible, not really scary imo though. When I had the HID kit from dapperlighting I felt a lot better.
  4. Oh an Oil thermostat. That makes more sense now. I'm retarded. But yes I know what you mean now. That would just go at the output to the oil cooler right?
  5. I've driven from Burbank CA to Daytona Beach FL (2500-2600 miles) 6 times, 5 of those times in my ZX once in my 260z. The first time I did it, I had just rebuilt the engine and dropped it in after 1 year of not touching it. I got it running, drove on a 500 mile break in period in one day using a one day moving pass since that car wasn't registered. 1 week later I drove the car cross country for the first time on that engine, changed the oil after the first 500mile for the break in and again right when I got to Daytona Beach. The last time I drove it, my wheel bearing decided to seize up 100 miles before I hit daytona. Wasn't expecting that at all. Nothing much you can in that situation.
  6. I'm not willing to pay for shipping, nor do I need them. As for suspension, the tokico blues and tokico springs make the car a whole lot better. They are on sale right now for $80 a shock, which is pretty good: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PSDC02B Springs are a little more: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/PROD/PSDC01B/23-3953 Might be able to find a better deal on ebay. edit: yeah you can http://www.ebay.com/sch/i.html?_from=R40&_trksid=p5197.m570.l1313&_nkw=280zx+tokico&_sacat=See-All-Categories Head units are not plug and play in these cars, you actually need to match wires. So you can go with any head unit. I made a face plate out of plastic trim and had my friend wire in the head unit.
  7. Getting them flow checked requires you sending them to get cleaned. You know they aren't stock injectors, so just find some stock injectors since that will probably be the cheapest route.
  8. You bumped an old thread. Anyway when I did this, the passanger was so close I just had to bend the **** out of on of the tabs to make it bolt in. For the driver I actually just cut the 280zx tabs off and welded them in the correct position on the 300zx tabs.
  9. There aren't many in Orlando either. Its on zilvia.net. All Nissan meet, normally I'm the oldest car out there, but there is some guy that had a 78 280z but I think he sold it. http://zilvia.net/f/south-eastern-states/413473-orlando-florida-millenia-mall-meet.html
  10. Must have had a tow hitch or something. For the most part, it looks like body panels are the only damaged. Hood and fenders are easily replacable.
  11. No first step is having him tell us if the cars stock. Dont assume because he didn't say. If it is stock just buy some stock injectors on this forum and swap them out. Pics of the injectors might help us better id them.
  12. So I'm looking lurking around on another forum, and I see a topic about running Rotella in a gasoline engine. Bunch of talk about how in high mileage engines it helps keep the clearance on worn bearings, it is made for engines that only rev up to 5k, drifters use it, people use it to break in their engines and the biggest one of all, it has more detergents and cleans the old gunk our of your block. blah blah blah. I tried searching to see any topics about diesel oil specifically, but couldn't find anything on hybridz. This is purely a question of interest for me. One of my friends recently did an SR swap on his 240sx and ran diesel in it for like 100 miles to "clean out the gunk" in his engine ( it had been in his car for like 6 months turning over by hand, but wasn't running). What is everyone's input on this school of thought? yes, no, maybe so? FYI I have never ran diesel oil, I broke in my engine with straight 30W and now run Valvoline VR1 20-50W
  13. Where in FL are you located? I try to go to the Zilvia meets in orlando whenever they have them.
  14. Howlermonkey, I totally agree with those damn dirt roads. All the autox events have led me through one of those to the playing field. I hate it.
  15. Tony do you have a picture of your manifold?
  16. This is taken from datsunzgarage.com "If you want to find a base model to use for your fantasy racer, try to find one of the first 12,000 or so 240Zs made from 1970 to early 1971. These are identified by a "240Z" badge behind the side window and two grills on the rear hatch. These '70-71s were the lightest of all ZCARs, at about 2300 lbs, making them the best for performance buildups. Later models went to a round Z badge behind the side window and removed the hatch grills. Unfortunately the weight went up a few hundred pounds due to chassis strengthening"
  17. You can regap your plugs to whatever your manual says
  18. I should probably clarify. r200 LONGNOSE. S13's and z32 used the shortnose version
  19. Is there a metal on metal noise? Could be your wheel bearing.
  20. Speedo and tach are about 4" I believe. Here is a writeup on aftermarket gauges http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/93578-s130-speedhut-4-tach-and-gps-seedo-conversion/
  21. Yeah I rememeber Z-ya selling his setup. The second part was more of an observation, I got that it was a PS pump. I never thought the subaru steering rack would fit, but I've never measured. What are you're plans for the car? or what class will you be running in?
  22. That thing has been for sale in Los Angeles for like 2 years now. My friends 79 fairlady has a similar throttle body with 2 flaps, and a bosch connector. I'm guessing that its the same type of TB. Its longer than a US throttle body. We tried to use my spare non egr intake on his car to clean it up, but then afer I got it all on I realized the ECU wires wouldn't connect. I'm trying to get him to convert fully to US spec harness/ecu and intake just to make sure he can find spare things.
