  1. I'm never seen that mount at the rear of the exhaust mani that you used to hoist the L out. I need to make one now.
  2. You should get a new spray bar, I believe someone was making billet repro's of them. As for the cam, if it has a "japan" stamp on it it is an L series cam, not necessarily stock (could have been swapped). Paint could mean a regrind?
  3. Sarcasm doesn't translate well over the internet john, I have no experience with crinkled frames.
  4. Get some TTT ones. https://technotoytuning.com/nissan/240z/rear-lower-control-arms-datsun-240z-260z-280z
  5. Tube the front. or replace like how you said if you want to be lame .
  6. I got two for free form Justin Hodges(zforce) when I went to pick up parts from him. He had a stack laying around so you could contact him and ask him to mail you a few for a couple $$$.
  7. For that price you can get the cross flow radiator that MSA supplies. It's made by Afco which is a damn good brand. What exactly is so bad about the champion radiators? I keep hearing all this bashing with no evidence as to why(other than MSA's massive price hike)?
  8. Update time. Oil cooler time Got a complete oilcooler setup from autospot. It was in great condition but the main thing I was interested in was the adapter/sandwich plate. First step was getting fittings and a bigger oil cooler. Install was easy, take off the oil filter, use vice grips to take the oil nipple out, install sandwich plate, done. Made a custom bracket for the new oil cooler to position it in front of my radiator. Used some thin aluminum bar and ran it from the top rad support to the bottom with a 90 degree bend. Bolted on so I could remove it. The lines came out nice, ran them along the frame rail. Had to widen the AC line hole to make it look a bit nicer. Here's how the lines turned out:
  9. Take a block of dry ice, smash it up and put the crushed ice all over the tar, wait 10-15 min and whack it with a soft mallet or use a plastic chisel. I did my whole car in 40 min. Then used the leftover dry ice to start on my friends 240sx.
  10. You're getting ripped off. Here it is for $20 http://www.autozone.com/autozone/parts/1982-Nissan-Datsun-280ZX/Head-Gasket/_/N-il4clZaliz3 Head gasket SET is $60, but that's the intake/exhaust gasket, valve cover, thermo housing and other knick knacks.
  11. Hmm, mine started backfiring a lot lately. I should probably take a look at mine.
  12. Actually it's an rb30 with an rb26 head. Just search Carbon s30 http://www.modified.com/features/modp-1012-1974-nissan-fairlady-z/viewall.html
  13. Should have been 65ft lbs I think. Also I get my head gaskets from autozone, the felrpo's cost me $20 or so.
  14. They look like stock steelies (not necessarily from a datsun). It would be better if they had hubcaps on them
  15. Contact Heroez, He seems to know everything about s130s. Personally I've never seen one anywhere without an AC ( I'm guessing since it was luxury they had it as a stock option). But I own a 280zx coupe base model with crank windows, no power steering and it doesn't even have the warning display in the dash. I weighed it on stock wheels at 2460 w/ all fluids but gutted( without me). That's actually lighter than some 280z models.
  16. Maybe your donation thing expired? It's not appearing below your avatar
  17. 280z's are hefty. Like hundreds of pounds heavier than early 240z's because of more bracing/safety equipment. Depending on your power goals this may benefit you from having to reinforce the chassis 280z's came fuel injected so they have bigger fuel lines, again that will help you because you won't have to redo the lines, depending on your power goals. Look wise, they are pretty much identical ones you swap the bumpers out. Biggest thing when I got my 260z was it needed to be pre 75 so I wouldn't have to smog it when I lived in California.
  18. So I gathering parts for my hopefully soon turbo swap, and I looking at the turbo dizzy, it looks like it bolts directly to the front cover with no base plate thing like the NA dizzy's have. Pic for reference if you have no idea what I'm talking about. http://www.atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/distributor/1.jpg
  19. These aren't crazy mods, its pretty common. Headers, shaved N42 intake, fuel rail and lines, different trottle body( prob. a 240sx one) wire tuck....Just search peoples build threads
  20. I doubt anyone would want the trans. Of the three engines that I had to sell, I had an easier time parting them out. I made roughly $300 for just the long block. I would try to sell it between $500-$700 depending on how worn it is.
  21. No. what kind of issue do you think it will cause? Its just some line. Just make sure it's fastened down tight and doesn't flail around. Is your paint job rattle can? It looks like it came out pretty clean
