  1. My 260z needle would bounce around too. I always thought it was the tach going out. Somedays it was good and never happened others it would bounce like crazy for no apparent reason.
  2. I was maybe gonna say that, but then thought there is no way even that "muffler" will quiet anything down without a silencer in it.
  3. ^^^ Mongo's custom rear suspension. When his car rolled over he threw some pics up somewhere on this site.
  4. Why not just a piece of pipe? excuse my ignorance edit: is the answer found in the exhaust length debate thread?
  5. I thought you were trying to sell that at one point?
  6. So they don't want to put together the exhaust after the downpipe? what a bunch of wussies.
  7. Search ratsun. There has to be someone there who has, or at least someone who can direct you.
  8. Did he build it in his garage with no knowledge or experience? or did he have it assembled at a shop. Because I had my f54/e88 long block assembled at a shop and I did not bend a valve in 5 hours.
  9. I loved the way my 260z felt with tokico illuminas and tokico springs. I had small sticky tires (205/50/15) so it also sat pretty low, which probably made a big difference as well. It was very aggressive and very streetable in the roads of downtown Los Angeles. If its will see the track occasionally, I would go springs/struts. If I was more dedicated to the track, as in an extra set of track wheels with slicks or something, I would get the coilovers.
  10. psh, drop in an SR and have a sleeper
  11. Manifold heat shield is defiantly helpful. You could be boiling your gas and not even know it. Are you saying it has the stock exhaust manifold? Ever figure out the problem?
  12. Stupid question but did you drain the tank before you parked it? Any lose wires, are you getting good spark (test with a screwdriver). What is old and what is new? It wouldn't hurt to put on a new cap and rotor anyway, its like $15
  13. It will feel slow(er) than it is from the lower compression and the P90 cam. I believe the P90 cam isn't that aggressive. http://atlanticz.ca/zclub/techtips/cam/index.htm Get the head gasket to match the block Also don't buy from him, supposedly he sells not the best parts. Find one in a junkyard, or buy one from a member and bring it to a machine shop. This guy bought a block from him and found dirt and overspray http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/105900-the-stroker-chronicles/
  14. Viper GTS blue, it was a special at Earl Scheib. Looks good for $500
  15. I'm pretty sure both those are a luguna seca blue. Time for my shameless picture dump: I really miss this car
  16. That is one super clean rhd civic.... I mean nice Z too It really is a damn good example.
  17. I know applydmynd had one. PM him. I remember him saying his body guy just gut out the area and either grafted it in, or cut out little tabs to bolt it in.
  18. thezstore.com might have them. I know I went with their slotted rotors and PBR pads, but I had an early 280zx. edit: Well they have the performance stuff http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PBC06 http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/PBC01 and the stock rotors: http://www.thezstore.com/page/TZS/CTGY/SBC02
  19. Why dont you have a cam with that combo? On cast pistons I had my hi6 set at 7200rpm. And I wish I had forged pistons because I might have been able to pull more, if my dizzy was up to it.
  20. Yes it is, and honestly all the carpet/tar/panels weighed about 30-40lbs in my 280zx. For comparison my ac system from the firewall forward weighed 60lbs. You can get the clean engine bay with a slim battery.
  21. It just means its somewhere on this site. There is no archive page exactly, although the FAQ section does have old posts that cover many basic questions.
  22. I just used fuel line from autozone, cut to length.
  23. He should totally just weld his and drift his ZX
  24. I hate arduino's. Way to slow, but for most applications and shields that offer they work great.
