  1. Okay guys, I've recently moved to the LA area, my Z is still back home 2hrs north of me with all my parts. I have 4 day weekends and its driving me nuts not being able to work on my car. I live in an apartment complex which means no non-operating cars allowed in the garage. I've been looking at mini-storage places and almost every single one has a clause or waiver release saying you won't work on your vehicle in their storage facility. This poses quite the problem, does anyone have and ideas or solutions for this? I'm just wanting to get my Z within 30 minutes of me so I can get back to wrenching. Thanks for any ideas/help Tyson
  2. Cable you have bad timing, I was home this weekend you coulda checked mine out. This is the only picture i have of mine, and the date covers most of it up unfortunately. Should give enough of an idea..... Tyson
  3. Best way I know of or at least something similar..... http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/Consumer+Products/Home+Video/Dazzle/?dz=1 Just connect your vcr to it and convert...probably won't be the best quality though. Tyson
  4. Did I miss thier regular time for being up for sale? What price are you wanting? Tyson
  5. Pretty intersting threads, I didn't realize it but I had images or at least ideas of how I'd think some of ya'll look if i were to meet you guys. Tyson
  6. Very cool, now I can learn the "proper" to change the color. This is one I did of Austin's (240hoke) z with a front bumper from a Porsche. Very amateur but I had fun with it. Thanks for taking your time to give the tutorial write up! Tyson
  7. Very cool stuff guys couple of websites I hadn't been to before. I was (before going back to school) researching a pre-amp and DIY speakers for my house. I've now downscaled and am looking to do a dual input chip amp for computers speakers. lot of reading on diyaudio.com Nice project though Z-tard came out really clean looking Tyson
  8. The white Z is owned by or was owned by a guy named John Sixgun I believe, he just got done repainting it iirc.... Yeah I've read bryan's site a lot, few things I'd change for personal preferences but it is one gorgeous/custom car!! Tyson
  9. http://www.chrfab.com/ Has a lot of good info on the Northstar V8's...Might be worth browsing. The biggest problem is all the little things to change will add up very quickly. One of the biggest reasons I didn't go with this motor was you had very little after market support for even small generic items (water pumps, pistons, etc.) items that weren't massive $$$$$. Just my $.02 Tyson
  10. What you're looking for are called Fender Mirrors, they don't come cheaply though. Figure anywhere from 200 (used) to 350 (new in box), they worth for the look IMO yes. They pop up in the classifieds and ebay about once or twice a month. Just becomes a matter if you're willing to spend that kind of money on mirrors... Tyson
  11. I didn't stand in line but I played for 14hrs straight.... If anyone plays, hit me up " LSX S30 " . I'll be online for most of the weekend. Tyson
  12. If you guys are interested in Sharks getting airborne, i.e. Great White sharks getting fully out of the water search for a documentary called Air Jaws. Very interesting stuff, very cool, and very scary for us surfers... Heres a link for your reading as well: http://www.ultimate-animals.com/sitemap.htm Tyson
  13. I prefer fresh beer flavored baby seal. Not have drank beer flavored baby seal, club it on the 'ead!
  14. You know not to be a smartass but if you would have properly used the search function you would have found other posts complaining about people telling people to search. Now, there are ways for you to ignore or block threads or topics you don't like. We have a NON-tech section for a REASON, if you don't like the NON-tech section STAY away from it, pretty simple logic. The easiest way to have someone not tell you to search REFERENCE something, another link, another thread, another quote from a book, etc. its aggravating when people take no time what-so-ever to do any of the leg work themselves. If the person isn't willing to search for an hour, do you really think they have what it takes to complete an engine swap, brake upgrades, or anything else relating to the often times simple question with complicated responses? I think not... Hybridz isn't for everyone as evident to why it was created because the classic Z-car guys couldn't handle the lack of purity. Hybridz has strict RULE and GUIDELINES which are heavily enforced for good reason, I suggest you read them if you haven't already as they are pertinent to many of your complaints as to why many of the people act the way they do towards "newbs." Take care best of luck and when you've been around longer, you'll realize its not a personal attack telling people to search, just more of a push for the person to learn from those ELDERs who came before them. Tyson P.S. I know its popular to abbreviate like "B4", but please refrain from doing so. Not only will it help keep Hybridz from being "clickish" it all also show you've read the rules and guidelines yourself for the forum.
  15. Keep em coming guys. I just picked up a Cannon Rebel K2, first full film manual SLR camera I've owned for a Photo 1 class. I highly recommend taking a class if you're interested in amateur photography or at least improving your photos, I've learned so much in the past couple of weeks of how wrong my exposures and photos that appeared good where. Hopefully will be posting soon some pics once i transfer from film. Braap any 559 shots by chance? Maybe I'm just partial to my desktop... Nice pictures guys!! Tyson
  16. You see how you have shortcuts for everything? You want to get rid of as many of those for external programs. I'm on my mac but the same idea applies: this is my desktop There are almost no other programs on the desktop besides the hard drive and my dock. Tyson
  17. I agree with 260ZRED, memory would be an easy upgrade though. I try to have the fewest programs loading at all times, turning off or uninstalling things like msn messenger, automatic downloads (will download program updates for programs you don't have and store on your hard drive), etc. etc. that'll help things load from the beginning, other things for internet usage, clear out your cookies, and internet history. Also if you know where you cable modem is you can unplug it for around 30 sec to a minute and then plug it back in. It can help out sometimes... Good luck, Tyson
  18. Haha I understand, so I'm thinking craigslist, ebay, any other places you guys recommend? Thanks Tyson
  19. Well its going up for sale: $1825, minus the 500gig and the 40gig (both unpartioned). This is for my parts ALONE, no labor cost. The 300 gig with the Windows Vista is still included, not charging for the OS since I didn't pay for it. I have not overclocked yet and am not going too since I want to get rid of it, it has a 4.6 rating on Vista Perfomance Ratings, no problems, I just wish I would have gone with the faster setup to begin with. It hasn't had any heating issues at all. The new PC will be watercooled, I've been doing a lot of reading on overclockers.com on DIY water-cooling systems Thanks guys, Tyson PS. If anyone is interested PM me.
  20. The Venice is a 2.2ghz single core processor, I've thought of upgrading to dual core, however the motherboard is old school. Its one of my BIGGEST Gripes/purchases about the system. I was talked out of/prodded to buy the AN8 like this one over a much better Gigabyte board being told it perform the same/etc. Another problem is I'm running 32-bit Vista Ultimate (which I got for free) instead of the 64 -bit, when I questioned the installer (good sized company) he said I shouldn't have any problems running it and wanted to stay away from the 64-bit due to software problems. So if I were to upgrade to a Dual Core, I'd want to upgrade to a better motherboard as well, which leads me to the why not just uprade to the much better processor and motherboard... http://www.uabit.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=32&Itemid=48&page=1&model=259
  21. Hey guys, I've recently built a Home Theatre PC, I'm quite happy with it, however i'm not fully happy with it, and i'm looking into building a Home theatre cabinet to just incorporate PC into that. What my options are: 1) keep the current HTPC and drop it into the cabinet as is and over clock it 2) Sell off the current HTPC and upgrade to what you really want 3) part out the case and still use the HD's, Mobo, Processor, etc. in the cabinet. Current Specs of the computer: Motherboard: Abit A8N Processor: AMD 64-bit Venice Memory: 2 gigs DDR400 Video Card: 8800 GTS Superclocked Case: Silverstone GD01MX (Silver) Power Supply: Silverstone Modular 800W Network Card: Belkin N-1 Hard Drives: 300gig Sata, 500 gig Sata, and 40gig IDE OS: Windows Vista Ultimate Wanted/Thought Upgrades: Motherboard: Abit AB9 Quad LGA 775 Processor: Kentsfield Quad-Core 2.4GHZ Processor Memory: 2 gigs DDR 2 Video Card: 8800GTS or above Power Supply: Silverstone Modular 800W If I upgrade my mobo, and processor and drop it in, i have to reformat, and I got Vista Ultimate for free so I'd have to pay for that. So at the same time I could sell the current HTPC, and cover the cost of building the other one without any problems and get the upgraded Mobo and Processor that I want. The computer is a hard core gamer/HTPC so I want it to kick some serious ass. While I'm happy with my current setup (not completely happy though), do you think its worth me trying to salvage parts from the current HTPC or start from scratch? I'm leaning towards start from scratch.... Tyson
  22. Umm sorry sir..... I mean Paul I learned not to stick your "thing" in holes where you can't seen where it goes... Thats off topic though...made my day more interesting to say the least. Tyson BTW I'm a 911/fire dispatcher....
  23. Copy that Mr. BRAAP, learn two things in one day... Question though, don't want to thread-jack but say one's building a sheetmetal intake for an LS1 with the cathedral style intakes, how do you replicate the "submission" process with quality assurance in mind? Tyson
  24. I know slightly off topic, but if you had a larger setup for an LS1 and under the prices of a Harrop or Kinsler unit, you'd have a MASSIVE corner on the LS1 crowd. And I'd put money down real quick. PM if you'd like, Tyson
