  1. I like old cars like that, something you don't see or very limited production cars that tried to make it before the market was dominated by the mega car companies. Always been a dream of mine to have something unique or build something unique like one of those...then reality kicks in. Tyson
  2. Well mine is pretty close (I work as a 911 operator/dispatcher) today I've earned the nickname Dr. Doom 5 CPR calls, 2 suicides, and 1 7month old SIDS case.... oh and I've got 5 more hrs to go in my 12 hr shift. YEAY, though yours seems a like a lot cooler "crazy" than mine . Tyson
  3. My old shop teacher talked about it a couple of times, was always pro-for it. I did it a little on some heads (no longer have them and no pictures), it save about 2lbs worth on each head. This was just grinding and not really good polish, it took A LOT OF WORK and minimal gains. Tyson
  4. There are a couple of ITB solutions for the LSx motors, but look at spending well over 2.5k..... So if you could come up with a solution for less than that, we'll you'd have yourself a deal. Tyson
  5. Once you get something for the LS1 I'd be very interested!!! Tyson
  6. That is 240z_Master (Quoc), I'm pretty sure his car is done, he's got a lot of good write-ups on how to do things. Tyson
  7. Did you check the stickie's at the top? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=77962 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=85330 http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=97516 There are a couple other ones up there as well. All answer you questions.... Tyson
  8. I like the hood, is it a betaMotorsports? Rest of the car looks good as well. Tyson
  9. I agree with Davy, its not so much the bleeding but the scar tissue that'll be a problem. It'll look better and itch a lot less, not to mention quicker healing time and less chance of infection. I had something similar on my chest I didn't get sewn up, lets just say i'm now getting it removed cuase it itches like MOFO!! Tyson
  10. Hey guys I'm heading down in the Long Beach area this weekend Saturday and Sunday. I'm mostly going to be hanging out with my brothers but was curious if anyone wanted to get together at an in-n-out or something and talk Z-cars. Also, I'm in the market for another one, so if anyone knows of one in the area to be checked out let me know. Tyson
  11. No dice for me, working the entire weekend. Wish I could make it down there. Oh well, no z-car done anyways.... Tyson
  12. I saw a 240z in the cameraads when I was looking for a car. Went searching for info on a 240z and someone had mentioned a V8 swap into one, I then saw the Darius240z video went bezerk trying to find more info and finally found hybridz.org through searching for more Darius240z. I've never been into any other Z-car or car website other than HybridZ.org , the people here rock, the admins keep a tight shift, and well you guys know your sh*t and are willing to share it!! Love you hybridz.org Tyson
  13. Man I have to keep telling myself NO MORE PROJECT CARS!! but someone keeps reviving this thread and giving me hard on wanting that one.... I mean JEEBUS its a good deal!!! Tyson
  14. Well thanks for the advice, ended up after buying the vehicle returning it after an hour because vapor lock was so bad and they guy mis-represented a LOT of things. Windows were good while up, but once they were down you had to manually lift them up, just minor things that were noticeable after driving for around 30-45 minutes and I don't need/want a full blown project off the bat with this thing, thats why I have my 72 LSx-S30. A little bummed but glad to have gotten my 5k back and I've already found better Z's for less or the same price, just out of the area. Thanks again, Tyson
  15. Hey guys, I'm picking up my 3rd Z tomorrow, a late 1973 240z all original in really good shape/condition. After I get the rear end clunk fixed, I want to get rid of the EGR type Hitachi Carbs that I have on there. I'm looking at the 72 or older SU carbs, I've been searching for this for a while and can't seem to get an answer. From what I've gathered I need everything from the 72' n-older carbs: manifold, linkage, carbs, etc. I don't want to spend the money on Z-therapy carbs, I just want to upgrade the reliability of my current setup on the cheap. Any suggestions on how I should do this or comments to upgrade the reliability of it? Thanks a lot, Tyson
  16. While its a sucky situation and doesn't sound legitimate, lets keep the law enforcement bashing to a minimum. They do a lot of things that'll never make the news to help keep you safe.... Tyson
  17. Roostmonkey, I'm going to PM you later tonight to make an order. Thanks a lot, Tyson
  18. The two shops I've talked to did not/would not powdercoat the wheels if they were chrome, they advised me if they were chrome I would have to get it removed by a chrome shop. I have no experience I'm just relaying what they've told me, so it could just be shop preference. Tyson
  19. I went to: American Powder Coating 4940 Gilmore Ave. Bakersfield, CA 93308 Phone: 661-326-6607 Fax: 661-861-1502 I'm quite happy with the results, the only problem is that they cannot powedercoat chromed parts, you have to have them stripped before they will coat them. They match my Fender mirrors almost EXACTLY, and I got my tail light panel powdercated the same color. Don't know if you're from the area but they're hidden off of Rosedale Highway. Tyson
  20. 1. Use the Search Function 2. Read the FAQ's 3. Use more Seach Function 4. Read the rules and guidelines of the site 5. Search again 6. Once you searched a little more then post your question. While you're new to Z's start off by reading about the car itself in STOCK form, then you can easily search for all you needs. I.E. L28ET Swap into an S30 (one of the most popular swaps and tons of info). You're most likely going to get flamed and beat over the head for this, don't take it personal. We like car guys and we like that you're looking to modify your Z, however spend some time doing your end by reading and searching. It'll make you stay here much easier and much more pleasant for everyone. Best of luck, Tyson Here's a good starting point. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=84860
  21. Looks good Max!!! Really good, I'm impressed, you just need some side skirts and to blend it in a a little more and it'd look even better!!! Completely changes the look of the car, Tyson
  22. Whats the asking price on the RHD 510 and how close is it to running? I haven't checked the classifieds to see if its in there yet, but figured I'd ask. Sorry to see you sell your project, hope you make it back here soon. Tyson
  23. Get a LS1 or 6 manifold or buy a custom low profile sheetmetal one especially since by the size of that turbo you're runnning BIG boost. I wouldn't take the chance on a stock 5.3L plastic intake. Best of luck finding the solution, Tyson
