  1. Oh sweet jeebus. Very basic questions, use the search function, read the rules and FAQ's. Search before you ask, you'll go a lot further around here. Tyson
  2. Hey no problem. It was 73 for a while then I think we had the 30yr rolling exemption for about 2 years before it was gotten rid of, which puts us at 75. Take your time looking for a Z car though, really be careful. A good price isn't always the best deal nor is the high price. I spent a good 5 years looking for mine, while gather information from this board. I literally went all across the board for motor swaps, to prebuilt motorswaped cars, partial projects, complete projects, there are a lot of options out there. I ended up going with the "some one lost interest in their project" and that has worked out well for me. If you can resist the infamous "while I'm at it" you can get a really good stock or slightly modified Z for a good price. Best of luck in the search, Tyson
  3. Fist off you year can be up to 75 for smog cut off. I'm only 6'1" and I have not fitment problems, my brother however is 6'6" tall and he was close but no uncomfortably close. You can do a couple of things like lower the seat if you still feel like you are too close. Welcome to the board, just continue to search and use the resources of the board. Good luck, Tyson
  4. I love that bottom one. If you could do me a huge favor add some black ZG's to it. I just might steal that sheme. Tyson
  5. What about an S13 Headlights? Tyson
  6. What would be your non-ebay Hybridz asking price? Just curious. Tyson
  7. Brian what is your asking price for yours right now? Still running condition? Tyson
  8. Out of curiousity, (since I live in CA) and the car being a 76' would you have to try and deal with smog crap? If so, I'd definitely would want one older, though I don't really know my Skyline history. Tyson *EDIT* Just a cool website: http://64.233.179.104/translate_c?hl=en&sl=ja&u=http://www.c110-skyline.com/&prev=/search%3Fq%3DC110%2Bskyline%26ndsp%3D20%26hl%3Den%26lr%3D%26safe%3Doff%26client%3Dsafari%26rls%3Den%26sa%3DN
  9. Okay, I was able to meet cable at the last CVZ meeting, and lets just say nothing about this car is sleeper. The ground outside shakes, your ears pound, and you've got nasty grin on your face, but you still can't believe its coming from a little 280z. Hopefully you can make it this weekend Cable, and I'll bring my camera this time. Tyson
  10. Well I was supposed to receive a Hood from him. I had bought the one he had listed on ebay, we had talked about doing a G-nose, etc. Then I had completely lost contact with him. Luckily I hadn't PAID for mine yet, so I'm not really throwing a big fuss. I've been trying to email him for 3 weeks now, with no response. However the guy was upfront when I was in contact with him. Just a little fyi. Tyson
  11. Out of curiosity, wouldn't a small Venturi effect help out the flow? As in the case of this "bottleneck"? I mean I don't have a lot of engine building experience, I've just have read a slight bottle neck or taper can increase flow. Tyson
  12. Please show where. Also if its show-car body parts be very careful. Tyson
  13. I think the last time it snowed here was 2 years ago, and it was about a full inch worth it was gone just as fast as it came. I'd like to see real snow someday looks pretty cool. Tyson
  14. Hmmm that must be the white stuff commonly referred to as "snow"... I wonder what thats like.... Tyson
  15. Internals and such might be a problem but your biggest problem is going to be the head. I've never seen an aluminum diesel head and most are going to be cast iron. If you wanted to just slap a turbo on the current diesel. Would be much easier to do. It also depends a lot on how much HP you want to make. Tyson
  16. I'm around 13k into my swap and have around another 3-6k to go. Not including tools that I'll buy, eh oh well. Money well spent when pulling up next to any production car.
  17. Just be careful Mike. I had bought a shaft mounted roller setup for my 1st Gen SBC (stock heads) and they had clearance issues at the rocker base. I know they're cheap but like getZ said unless your revving fairly high or making some really serious HP its not going to be worth the money or the machine cost (at least for me) to get the proper clearances, when you can do something better. I went with a roller tip rocker arm instead and am happy with it, its just a nice little cruiser type motor. Tyson
  18. Okay, I'm going to be nice. Start off with a Searching. In particular look at a couple of members running similar setups. Garrett76, 510six, etc. You aren't very clear as to your fuel induction system, weather it be carb or fuel injection. Since you mention mega-squirt I'm going to assume you're running Fuel Injection. For the amount of boost that you are running, etc. I'd recommend some sort of aftermarket ecu, i.e. mega-squirt, SDS, or similar. Its not going to be easy to tune in comparison to a NA vehicle, however it depends on WHAT you're wanting to tune. Tuning can be very complex or simple depending on what program you use and what settings you are wanting/willing to change at risk of damage to your vehicle. I'd recommend picking up some of Corky Bells' Books on Turbochargers and Fuel Induction, as well as a book on tuning your vehicle for maximum power. Hope this help, be sure to use the search function on this site, it will answer most of your questions. Tyson
  19. I don't really know, Davy. He doesn't look to be much older than I am though, I had never met the guy before. I feel for the guys family though, death is never easy on anyone. Tyson
  20. I just checked my local Z club anyone else hear about Nazar passing away? http://www.centralvalleyz.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=857 Tyson
  21. Wow that looks hot, I like it a whole lot. Good job!!! Tyson
  22. Well if its a 5spd it won't be the 700r4. Don't know what the stick one is but I don't think it would be very well geared for a Z if thats what you're thinking. We have 16x9's on my truck, don't really see a need to go much larger than that. Are you looking to lower it or raise it? stock? I recommend getting a gibson exhaust, a chip, K&N will help you feel more comfortable towing. Tyson
  23. Looking good, they look similar to BMW M3 fender vents. But I like them a lot in the hood. Out of curiousity what color is your Z going to be all together? Tyson
  24. Read the stickies and FAQ pages. Its a great start and use the SEARCH function a lot. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=84860 Start by reading that and going from there. Tyson
  25. Is this good or bad Ernie? And once I get it, I'll be sure to take lots of pics. Tyson
