I remember seeing a z somewhere, here, zcar or maybe craigslist that had a plate put up from the inside wall of the rear of the car (inside the hatch) up to where the hatch meets the body, effectively blocking all vision. The plate was built to hold up some stereo stuff, and it might have been a show car so this might just be a mute point, but he had a camera pointing outward and a flat panel in the dash for viewing. pricey but might be worth it if this is what you're after

Needs new brakes, points, and the holly 600 to be tuned up, then it will haul more ass. I like to stick with PNY when I buy an Nvidia, because they started out as a memory company, and their video memory is usually really quick. With ATI go ATI built rather than "Powered by ATI".

Not the 81 because of the triggering system. It's optical rather than whatever the hell the other engines use, and it's just about useless for megasquirt.

I have an 81 280zx turbo that I put megasquirt in, that's something. "no one really does anything with the zx" phh. I love my zx. Buy an l28et. If you cant find one right off the bat, wait. It will be loads cheaper and less of a pain in the ass if you just buy the whole setup and swap it in. If you're looking to do ms in the future, don't get an l28et from an 81.

With my 81, I had a hell of a time too. It almost seems like the 81 turbo should just be taken off the list of ♥♥♥♥ you can put ms into. I ended up taking off the crank pully, drilling three holes, epoxying magnets in them, then fabbing a bracket to hold a hall effect sensor. what a pain in the ass. then i ran a 4 pin hei, and all was fine. that's my suggestion. I beleive I am running taylors, btw

I just bought a 73 with 97k miles on it, the three things i've found wrong with it are a busted up door seal, a broken rear fuel pump, and a 4 barrel holley that needs tuning. I'm wondering which fuel pump I should get: napaonline lists a solid state cube type and a solid state cylindrical type, the car is currently 300 miles away and will be dropped off at my house when i complete the last payment. I would like to order the part but I don't know which one to order. is there any wafpry to know other than just looking? Also, since later on i will be swapping an l28et or possibly a much bigger engine (ls1 or something of the sort), would it be wise to just get a walbro or stock l28et fuel pump and an adjustable fpr and just regulate it down to 4 psi or so?

I recently came upon a 73 which has been garaged since 83, about 96k miles, great shape other than the brakes, a rust hole under the bat and the rear fuel pump. If I went to a better set of front brakes and did some other slight mods, so long as it kept the stock look, would it still be considered a restoration process? I'm thinking a reupholstery kit for the seats and some stock looking rims, and that's about it.

K I'm sick of worrying about it, I think I'm going to just replace the master and slave, just go all out and fix it for sure, plus it'll give me a more intimate understanding of the system for when I swap my 5 speed into my 280. Is it safe to assume it's the same master and slave as came stock on the Zs? I guess since I know it's never safe to assume anything, Is the master and slave cyl the same on the 74 620 as it would be on the z of that year?
