  1. Possibly with a different head choice. Going to be tough with stock electronics.
  2. We have used smaller diameter multi disk clutches before and we are not happy with them. They will NOT last, plain and simple. They are made to be an on off setup, with not much slipage. My car is a daily driver, and has to get slipped about every half mile when driving in town. If I had a old worn out or just a junk clutch from a z32, I could see if my idea would work.
  3. Ok, I am tired of trying different clutches, it gets expensive and a PITA. I need a clutch that will hold 600 foot lbs+. 240mm, 6 or 9 bolt setup. I dont want a heavy disk, as it just tears up syncros. I am considering adapting a 250mm setup out of a z32tt setup. I have used clutchnet.com red racing clutch and their racing 6 puk disk, and it slips at 20 PSI. I want to get to 30 PSI, but it is impossible untill I get a better clutch. I do not mind a stiff pedal at all. I dont want it to chatter like crazy though, as it is a daily driver. I run 315 wide slicks as daily driver tires, so it is hard to make those tires spin. I dont want to spend a thousand dollars on an HKS setup either. Any suggestions? I am contimplating building my own dual diafram (sp?) setup also.
  4. Sounds NICE. Your car is only 2000 lbs? WOW, that is LIGHT.
  5. Pick up an xd, then take your finger with the slide closed and try and wiggle the barrel. It will move say, .050" side to side, and up and down. They do this so the gun will NEVER jam, great for a self defence gun, CRAPPY for a target gun. Like others have said, a nice IRON frame 1911, kimber, colt, etc. will always out perform as far as targets go. I personally dont like a whole lot of semis for this reason. A good revolver will always be more accurate.
  6. An XD is far from accurate in stock form, plain and simple. I own MANY guns, too many to list, but they are most High Powered. Anywhere from 22 LR's to 50 BMG's. I always say, if your gonna just punch paper, go with an accurate gun and not bling. XD, glocks, etc. just feel so cheap, with there composite frame. I would go with a nice kimber if I were you John.
  7. Why 40 SW? If I were in the market for a .40 cal, I would use a 10mm, as it is a much more powerfull cartrige. I dont know what your planning on doing with the gun, self defense? Any of those lower end Semi's, glocks, etc, are not accurated at any distance. All depends what you want to do.
  8. I want you to design a BALL BEARING with the races soft, and the balls hard, and you tell me how long your new designed bearing last You would NOT get 50-75 HP if you converted a solid setup to a roller, plain and simple. I would be supprised if you saw 10 RWHP on a dyno. There are much better mods for the time and money spent.
  9. I made a post about this exact thing two months ago here, and there is NO way to search an exact phrase. It used to be quotes, but that does not work anymore.
  10. I dont remember a customer that didnt recieve enough clips, Hmmm, interesting. How long ago was it? Send me a bill on what you had to pay to get some more, and Ill re-emburse you. BTW, .6mm=.023". They are not that if you actually measure them. With a 1mm head gasket, it comes out to the perfect, .025" or so. I would NOT repeat NOT run a 2mm head gasket and loose all quench. Unless your going with an N42 or other OPEN chamber non qhench head, then you can do whatever you like with head gasket thickness. Yes in all my calculations, and building, negative is piston above deck, but everyone argues with me on that point so I just keep it to myself
  11. With GOOD tires and good suspension, 600+ RWTQ, can be kept to the ground. How it comes on, also is a big effect. Hey Tim, What is the most boost you can make in FIRST gear and at what RPM? I can only get about 14 LBS in first at 8 Thousand RPM, just sorta curiuos how your turbo acts compared to that.
  12. You got me all inspired, so today I hit 20 PSi in the twin cam setup, to where I have been at 16. It felt pretty dang good in third. I might have to hit the dyno sooner than I thought to see exactly what she is doing. I dont have the injection on it yet though. So it looks like its you for the highest dyno number on a L series this century stateside. Then Jeff next.
  13. Is 94 what you guys in the lucky states consider pump??
  14. NICE numbers tim. You keep settin the bar higher and higher for me! Whats the most HP you have run on Pump Gas? I "plan" to get to the dyno next month and get 700 RWHP on pump gas, but we shall see. I am eying a larger set of turbos to get me to the 1000 RWHP mark too! The main thing I lack in life is time though.
  15. Can you get different cogs for different ratios?
  16. Nice car, a CA would be on the bottom of my list of motors to swap in though.
  17. When you can feel your heart hit your back when you accelerate in third gear, its just right!
  18. THIs will be my first year not there. I just dont find it worth it dealing with the crappy CA roads, and freeways, and 800+ mile round trip for a 6 hour show.
  19. Braap, we have built custom billet cranks for guys before. Its doable on a 4 jaw lathe, but very time consuming. I am building a program actually for my CNC 4th axis mill, for a straight eight buick crankshaft, that is a nine main bearing crank, as they were 5 from the factory.
  20. Yea there is nothing wrong with the stock rail, other than cosmetic. Yea The only benifit to the 7m would be crossflow and shorter engine. Its good to see what stock blocks can do.
  21. Clifton, do you think this makes the same power at the same boost/turbo combination as the 7m? I think its pretty close.
  22. I actully think cliftons intake is WORSE than stock, but thats just my opinion I keep telling him to bring it by and let me rework it! HAHA.
  23. Thats alot to expect out of a tom kit. Yea, dont worry about calling, I am still trying to get some loose ends up tied up on the fairlady. I dont know if I can make the autocross this weekend either, as I gotta get my wisdome teeth pulled on friday, grrrrrr.
