  1. You know, to build a trick flywheel, for a small pressure plate diameter there are ways. One way is to have a planatery (sp) gear drive, that engages and dissengages. Also, I have relocated starters to be closer to the center of the crank also. Its sorta pointless to have all of that flywheel hanging out there if you dont need it. Just putting that out there for consideration.
  2. I will say it for the billionth time, on this forum. 5 years ago, I broke out my sonic tester and came to the conclusion that the F54 is NOT, Siamesed. It has water passages between EACH and EVERY cylinder, therefor not a good block for big bores. The N42 is connected between each cylinder on 1-2 2-3 4-5 5-6. Therefore the true siamesed block. Your comment on being that the 54 is the siamesed block is incorrect.
  3. I bet your straps that hold the PP to the CC have broke.
  4. Numbers are sure possible, but man with that compression being so low, it seems a bit optomistic. Although I have personally seen the car run, and it runs GOOD. It is also a very light car, which helps.
  5. I run a 292 adv duration, with .600" lift on a NA 3.1 liter with 12-1 compression on pump gas. Daily driver running on a map signal. Takes a bit longer to tune than a stock cam motor, but it is pleny doable.
  6. Its a "stock" Intake that has the runners welded externally, then extude honed out, so basicly none of the stock ID of the intake remains. Atleast thats what it looks like.
  7. I couldn't agree more Braap. I get people that call me all the time for a Dual cam setup. I tell them a price and they about die. I then begin to explain about 10% of the work involved, and they then come to see why I would need to get that much for a setup. Same goes for my custom intakes, head work etc. Some guys may work for free, but I am not one of them.
  8. Now just get it into the twelves in the 1/4, with us other ITB users
  9. I guess once you ride in a Z car with 600 foot lbs of torque with a boosted 6 cyl on pump gas, you dont really care about the little motors anymore
  10. Ride in one and you will see. There is absolutly no torque what so ever. You can make a lawn mower engine rev to 15k, but it will never be as powerfull as a z car engine.
  11. I think most guys use one off of a 240sx S13.
  12. Yea, usually just a nice radiused velocity stack, so the air does not turbulate as it enters the port. Im old fashion with just a flow bench, and a dyno to test my therorys, but we get 230 cfm with a stock 44mm valve with a RADICAL port change. I am real curious to see how your entire setup will work as a whole. Should be amazing.
  13. Can you stimulate just the head by itself, with say a velocity stack mockup on the inlet of the port, where the intake bolts up? If so, how much difference is there between that and with the intake bolted up in the simulation?
  14. There is nothing but benifits to lightening pistons, considering you dont take away from the strength of the piston. LIghter piston means a stronger rod, strogner crank, stronger rod bolts, stronger main caps, stronger main bolts, etc. It also takes WORK to stop and accellerate an object, the lighter the piston, the less work it takes to accel and decel that mass. Therefore more "work" can be transposed to the flywheel. Acceleration time is purely dependent on mass. My stroker pisons bare weigh 300 grams after I am finished.
  15. Very vauge add, and Based on that, it shows the guys knolage on motors.
  16. Looks like you mounted on the outboard of the rubber. If so (Cant tell much from the pics), then YOu will get slippage and your timing will be off eventually.
  17. Sorry I didnt get back sooner to you. Yea looks like you got it figured out. Those should be pretty close to spot on for your setup.
  18. Does your CFD software tell you a CFM rating at a certain pressure? If so you could compare to a couple flow benches to see how it pertains to real life. If so, what sort of flow are you looking at? If this was already covered and I missed it, sorry.
  19. Its easy to get them cut down.
  20. Send me your email Sidwell and Derek and I will email you my msq.
  21. As you know I use the same system sidwell, with a TON more cam on pump gas as a daily driver. My car has great throttle response. With ITB's it is VERY important to get the accel enrichment down perfect. I would NOT use alpha N. I can send you my .msq if you like.
  22. For edis 6 and edis 8, pin number two on the ign module works every install I have done (a few).
