  1. Terry, the underdash pics looks great! I think it is a great area to cover---too much wiring, etc., is exposed and most Zs don't have a clean look underneath because of that. Your solution puts it very neatly out of the way. Good place for car art too or graphics, hmmm. Davy
  2. If you want to get a short but good education in EFI and Turbos, I would recommend the following books because they are extremely relevant: Maximum Boost by Corky Bell and Fuel Injection by Jeff Hartman Both books are great and fairly easy to read & understand. They'll give you a basic rundown on what size of turbo is right and what to do, etc. Davy
  3. As Dan stated, the first one on ebay is a one-off "custom." Actually it appears as if he smoothed the front end and filled all seams with the spoiler and headlight buckets. Also, he used some seriously small (motorcycle?) signal lights. A good body shop can do the same, and so can you if you like body work... Davy
  4. LOL!! Noooo, I don't... Pukey no workey Davy

    z31 diff into 280zx

Thanks for doing a search, Tim. My advice would be to email several of the ZX owners on this site. I would think one or more have either done this or know what is involved. It's probably pretty simple. Also, Ross Corrigan, who makes the spacers, etc, for CV conversions can be contacted at http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/default.php He has/had a V8 280ZX that may or may not have had a CV conversion---email him from the site. 6. Even though I'm not presently in the market for such a T5, I will be in the future (not soon enough for this unfortunately). I hope this can be a viable option for a future run if possible. My WC T5 is practically new and I'd hate to spend an additional $1100 at this point. I'm sure eventually it will frag, but until then I'm not quite there. Still, I hope there is a viable opportunity for this in the future... Davy
  7. The third color, whether as a pin strip or the BRE racing stripes, will make the whole paint scheme "pop." I would use a brighter blue then a light blue. In fact, the color of your blue on the car now looks good. Again, I think it makes the thing "pop," but that's IMO. BTW, I like the scheme you chose---it rocks. Davy
  8. If you are going to use a performance engine in a performance car, you can't expect good gas mileage That said, the overdrive transmissions with EFI engines will net you in the 20's as far as mileage is concerned. What limits the mileage, even though the Z is lighter and smaller then a Vette, Camaro or Firebird, is simply very dated aerodynamics and your right foot. To my knowledge (very limited compared to Pete Paraska's) you need to do some serious front end work to make it profoundly better. The '87 VW GTI, box as it was, has a better drag coefficient then the S30 bodied Z. In fact, I think the Z is better off going backward then forward... Davy
  9. Serious information! Did you use scales for racing cars? Was this in a shop? Details! Thanks for blessing us with that info!! It was what I believed all along Davy
  10. Got it and replied back...twice Thanks for your help with the site!! Davy
  11. Wow, that's all good advice. Keep in touch from time to time and share your knowledge. Keep the pics of your car on your HD and look at them from time to time. Only YOU can know what is right for YOU! Make a plan and do the best you can to stick with it. All the best for your future and your hot rodding!! Davy
  12. Marcus, that's Aux's caustic wit. Think: extreme sarcasm. Davy
  13. The rest of the Admins and Moderators thank you for the kind comments and are glad, as are all the members, that you have benefited from the information on this site! Now read this: http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99486 Thank you Davy
  14. What they don't tell you is that she writes/reports for Il Manifesto, a commie rag... No wonder she is saying what she is saying...still, the car looks pretty bad... Davy
  15. I like the "garage patio" more then I like my own house. Just think, NOT having that builds character! And what a bunch of characters we are... Davy
  16. The cowl is too high for a Reaction Research hood, plus it has no ridge in the center. Davy
  17. Probably not a JTR and it is very difficult to tell---even though the engine seems way back, it still uses the mechanical fuel pump which does not work per JTR spec. Also, I can't see any AL spacers in the engine compartment. I, for one, am glad this was posted again--I must have missed the first posting of this car! Davy
  18. Nice to see one in black. I'm for colors that are alternatives to red, especially in Ferraris. Davy
  19. If you click on his site, you'll see the picture gallery, right? Then you'll see the picture gallery index to the left of the page. Click on "Dash - Instruments" and you'll get a plethora of pictures. Click on each photo--you'll see a detailed description of what he did under each photo BUT you have to see it on the bottom of each photo after you open each one up. See it now? I cut and pasted all photos and descriptions to a Word document to save it (I hope the photo hosting company doesn't mind...) only for educational purposes. Davy
  20. Rudy... Pleeeeeeeeeze use the search function. Man, you have got 4 years worth of information on this site and great brake info too! Try searching first and then ask the question if you absolutely get nothing. Ok? Peace. Davy
  21. Dan, I put your comments on a Word document to be used later when I have the time. If I find out that any info is misleading, I'll sue for sure
  22. Thanks for the page, Tim. I'll end up making one because I'm cheap, or buying one because I'm feeling lazy. Right now I'm putting off the decision because I'm dealing with procrastination... Davy
  23. Congrats to you, Grandaddy!! Davy
