  1. I hear the part about the constant pressure....I wouldnt be using it much. I never did use the PB much, tend to leave it in 1st whenever possible. But there are times when I want reassurance that the car will still be there when I return!
  2. I was thinking this may work as a parking brake.... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ih=016&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWA%3AIT&viewitem=&item=260186916135&rd=1 http://www.hess4less.com/mainframe.php I plan on calling them to find out if pressure bleed is a problem. I now also understand from Dave at AZC that he is working on a hydraulic version that will hook up to the stock PB handle. In fact he recommends the line lock as an option. Nobody recommends the solenoid type for obvious reasons....battery drain and eventual roll. But I asked never the less. I gotta figure something out... MM....I get it! daaa! yup saw that thread before. Thanx.
  3. Haha! I got the rears to go with the 12.2 front and the proportioning valve was also purchased. I wish I had gone the 13" disks as the 17" wheels dont look full...but all is ok. I was afraid of bleed down but have little experience with this end of things. It doesnt seem that there are many OEM hydraulic parking brake setups....must be a good reason? What is an MM bracket? And no way is he drifting the Z! He will have to get by with the SX! Well chocks are cheap!...dont look so cool!
  4. As I see it....Jays garage is incomplete without a Z! But I have dreamed of building a car like The Rocket for years! WOW!
  5. Very funny....just before the 3rd run ended I was thinking...."I wouldnt stick my hand in there" and POW! Honestly....that is not very bright!
  6. I am using the 15/16" master....but am considering a non vacuum assist dual setup from Beta. And yes I know they are over kill. ......but what the heck! It just had to be done....bling and all. Oh ya......I got the intermediate pads. My biggest issue is the parking brake...Im trying to figure out a way of hooking up a line lock to the stock parking brake....any ideas? Dont want it inside the car! I havent gone full AZC suspension. I may go the rear control arms...and am considering the billet Al moustache bar and all. Again....alll bling.... but.....what the heck....its the never ending project car....whatever! And YES...Im real worked up about me son being involved. He is a great kid and has voiced the idea that he wants his racing licence before he gets to drive on the street. He feels it will make him a better driver...I cant disagree. Im gonna sign him up this year so he can get his Solo licence.
  7. Up in Canada we have Princess Auto...as near as I can tell ....Harbor freight but yellow. http://www.princessauto.com/PAcountry.cfm?CTRY=CAN&INF=home Cheap yes but to tell the truth great stuff. My garage is full of their carp and I am totaly happy with it....and I feel much safer using their stands than the old 3 ton units I use to use....I now only use them to hold my exhaust up. And P.A. has a great warranty program!....recommended!!
  8. Just spent a couple of hours with my eldest son installing the front brakes I picked up from AZC. What a great install!! Here are a few pics..before and after... the rears will be installed next weekend! Its great...my son is showing interest in the car as he is 15 and starting to think about driving. After the rear brakes we will build a a KA24e turbo engine. He has to!........ in order to to drive the SX track car next summer. I figure if he has a sense for the work that goes into building a motor he will appreciate it that much more. He cant wait! And nether can I!
  9. I guess its all in the eye of the beholder.......technically interesting but pointless...other than....because he can!
  10. OM what? I cant see a picture..............

  12. $1200 15 years ago.....I dont even want to think about all the additional $ I spent on her........But then ......it just doent matter!
  13. Im considering one of three things for my RB20 install. ---Installing Speedo and tach from a RB25 or ---Installing a Stewart Warner Speedo and tach that I picked up real cheap or ---Stay with the mechanical speedo and convert to a skyline Tach Now I understand that the RB tranny runs a mechanical Speedo so I will need to generate a pulse for the electronic speedo to work. I have searched around and have found that Dakota Digital makes this .... http://www.dakotadigital.com/index.cfm/page/ptype=product/product_id=109/category_id=311/home_id=59/mode=prod/prd109.htm As I see it, to make the SW speedo work I ask DD to make an output connector that connects to the RB20 tranny. Wire the pulse generator to the speedo and calibrate it. In all likelihood over simplified but more or less. The RB25 speedo may be another matter...it may work on a different pulse and will unlikely have calibration capabilities. I think I prefer the OEM look over the SW pieces but the SW may be easier with fewer problems. Has anyone used this device? Am I on the right track? What do you think I should do?
  14. your right and about cold helping out...I chipped away all the deadener from a 240sx over a couple of days. The first afternoon was warm and removal was slow. The next morning was quite cool and the deadener just flew off. It becomes very brittle when cold.
  15. My pics above are of 17x7 with 35mm offset and the same spacers.....they fit fine. Iif the struts are on the soft setting and I drive her hard...the tires rub on the corner valence panels. Coil overs are used.
  16. :lmao:HAHA...lowering the front of my Zcar back to the ground off my jack ........ without the wheels on it! But to be honest....Ive done a lot of bonehead moves!
